10/20/07 KK1: A Magical Vacation

Hi Everyone

My name is Rachel I am 13 and live near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A week ago I got back from what I have concluded to be the best vacation of my life! I still get sad knowing that it is all over. My family on October 20th, a western on the Magic! Our group of adult DISers nicknamed themselves the Konked Kruisers (KK). So the kids we calling themselves the Kid Konked Kruisers. Our bunch of DISers were well lets just say VERY talkative! They were such nice people! So we are planing to go again sometime in 2009 making it KK2: The Reunion
Right now I cant see how I can wait that long to cruise again! We are from Wisconsin and there were multiple families from our sournding area so we have had 2 WIS DIS meets before the cruise and are hoping to have many more before the next cruise. I meet some really good friends on this vacation and I hope and feel that we will be keeping in touch. You know who you are and I want your guy's input on this trip report too!

Today my uncle picked us up at about 5:30 to take us to the airport. I could barly sleep the night before I was just too excited! We flew out of Mitchel (Milwaukee's airport) at 7:05 A.M. We got to meet well see 2 of the KKers in the airport. Nancy and Chuck. We were on the same flight down there together. I got my Starbucks in the airport so I was a happy camper that morning. Well I would have been happy anyways because the next day I was going on a cruise! Our flight was about 2.5 hours. Not too bad but I have never really been a fan of fling but it is better then driving to florida (24 hours ). We got in at 11:30ish. Me and my mom got our lugage while my dad got the rental car from avis. We got our lugage the quickest ever!! Within 5 min we had it all! While Nancy was woring if hers would make it because half of her DIS tag stuff was in a suit case.

We meet my dad at the Avis counter right before he got up to the desk. So I sat with the lugage while they delt with the paper work and stuff. We were on the same cruise last year and the cars were getting taken fast so we really tried to get there quick so we wouldnt have to wait. Well we waited for them to asign us our car (or for them to get the car ready) for about 5-10 min. Not bad. Things were moving pretty fast. We got the car and all of our lugage in it (dificult process we dont pack lightly!) and then waited for our friends Lynn and Chris to call us and let us know they were in. We met them on our first cruise 7 years ago and now have cruise 4 times with them. It would have been 5 but last year due to healt complications they couldnt make it. We were still in the parking lott when they called so we left and when to the pickup part of the airport to see if they were there. They werent so we circled about 3 times and then me and my mom went in to see if we could see them. We were walking in when they were walking out. Perfect timing!

We went to eat at the Macornie Grill. Yummy! My dad managed to gett sauce all over his white shirt. So we had to go grocery shopping to get a stain tretment befor we got to the hotel so it wouldnt set. We went to Win Dixie and i got a Platapus for $2.99! He was so cute for olny $2.99. A big yellow stuffed animal. He plays apart in the trippie later. Then we went to kinkos because my printer wasnt printing the door signs! They charged us something like $3.50 for 8 sheets of colored printing. Not bad at all i thought. I was bound and determined to get those printed because I worked hard on thos door signs!

We then went to our hotel by the port. We stayed at the Country Inn. It was very nice. We took a nap for a while because we were all pretty tired from a long day of travel and needed our rest for then next long exciting week! We then woke up about 7:30 and got soemthing to eat at a local pizza place. It was very good! We got back to the hotel and I worked on laminating and putting the magnets on the door signs. Then we all went to bed.

This is the day that i had been waiting for my whole life!
well not my whole life but for 1 year!
today was the day we were going to get on our ship (let me tell you it is my moms second home!) and meet all our diser friends (for most of us it was the first time in person)
We were all so excited! even my dad and he is rarely ever excited!
we got up around 7:00 so we could head down and eat breakfast
on our way to the elevator we saw rob and kira that was our first time meeting little baby kira (she is such a cutie!) we had all seen her grow up through pictures
we ate breakfast during breakfast it started pouring!
after breakfast we got the final things together and put everything onto the lugage cart and loaded into the car
we were now heading to the terminal!
we keep getting closer and closer to our Magic!
it was so exciting!
we final got there and the men dropped us women and the luggage off and then took the car back
we were heading into line to go through security and we saw DISers Nancy and family
we got through security and then heading up the escalators where we saw mike and robin greeting us at the top
we headed over to the castaway club member check in and got our key to the world cards my key to the world played an important part in our journey on the ship! lets just say the magnet swiping strip never felt unloved if you get my drift
in the check in line kelsey found me! it was so exciting being able to meet my buddie for the first time in person! she is now a very good buddie! we defiantly hit it off!
we got a number 3 boarding number but our friends got a 4 so we wanted to board at the same time so we switched our 3 in for a 4
it worked out fine i had some time to meet other friends and then we boarded
we got on pretty fast!
i would say we were walking through that mickey tunnel got our picture taken and names announced by 11:30 at least
maybe i was just having to much fun to notice how late it was who knows!
in the terminal we found lots of our diser friends and there children my friends
we got on that ship and stopped at rock in bar d to get my parents palo reservation altered and then headed up to top siders where my mom found chris and family including my english friend rosie and her twin brother ryan aka english boy
we got some lunch and then i went off to explore well show kelsey around the wonderful magic!
along the way we missed an elevator 5 times because we were talking so much and then on our 6th miss chip and dale came we got a quick picture with them and then decided to just take the stairs
we went to check if our rooms were ready at about 1:35ish and they were
i was the first in my room!
went straight to the veranda i had known what the rest of the room looked like but we have never had the veranda before it was new and exciting! me and my mom would definatly say well worth the money!
me and kelsey then went up to rosie's room they let us tour it! they had a cat 3 (1 bedroom!) it was amazing!
then we went with rosie to beat street to the windows you can sit in and talked some untill a couldple other kid kruisers came for the kids meet
me and kelsey had some fun asking rosie and ryan questions about england and if things were differnet across the pond finding out not really
kelsey kyle bryce mackenzie and i keep asking them questions all week!

well i am off to dinner be back later to finish day 2 and post pictures
