We are from the Dallas area! Love Fort Worth! We go there often for my daughter. She is in theater and has been in a show at Casa.

We booked a guaranteed balcony cabin earlier this week, so we'll be joining you. Still trying to decide the best options for arriving the night before (we're from Central New York - our closest airports are Syracuse & Rochester, and both have more flights to Hobby than; Hobby doesn't have Dis transfers).

We did a 4 day Disney Dream cruise in December with our then 3 1/2 yr old DGD; she'll be 4 1/2 this time. She didn't really enjoy the kid's club - I think she was a little young and didn't know anyone so it was a little strange for her. She now has a full year of pre-school under her belt, and maybe she can meet up with some of the others her age on this board. If you haven't experienced the kid's club, the facilities are great, but kids of all ages are pretty much left on their own; I didn't see or hear of much one-on-one experiences. Hopefully this year she'll enjoy the kid's club more, although she had an absolutely great time on the cruise regardless.

My DW is the Facebook person in our family, so I'll have her check that out soon. See you all in about 90 days!

My brother in law and nefews and neices live in rochester and go to syracuse but I am from philly and we are flying down to georgia the day before and then taking another plane to Texas and spending the night there beacuse wee have had some bad experiencing flying the day of

October 19-26, 2013, aboard The Wonder. From Galveston, TX to W Caribbean.

Hi all! We'd love to meet some of our fellow ship mates, as this is our very first time with DCL, as well as our first ever cruise!

Hi, husband and I traveling with another couple. Our third Disney cruise n favorite cruise line. So excited. Interested in fish extender and new to how this works, crystal

my daughter is 12 too maybe they can meet up on the ship?:eeyore:

We too will be sailing with you and are interested in a FE! We're a family of five, my husband and I with three kids. My son is 9 and daughters will be 6 and 4 at the time of the cruise. It's our first cruise (well, for four out of five of us) and we can't wait!

hi my husband and I will be on the wonder October 19 and trying to figure out how this works. Like how do we know how many items and who else has signed up etc, to pass things out?

Awesome!! Well, if you for sure decide you wanna do the FE with us, post your room # and I'll be sure to add you and fam to the list! We, too, are SO excited. October can't come soon enough!!!![/QUOTEcgrogers = ]

I would like to join the fish extenders. We sail as a couple my husband and I alone in room 2052 and our friends in 2054. just adults. How does this work?
We get a list of rooms and ages or:cool1::cool1::cool1: just rooms? Thanks for any help.

I'm not into Facebook, but DW is, and there's a group on there for this cruise. It's a closed group, but obviously open to anyone cruising on that date.

Also, if you get on the FB page, there's a link for info on the FE.

We are going on this ship! We had booked a trip to Washington D.C. but the kids were not excited about that option. I do not want to spend an entire week cheerleading for my vacation (aka -look at this really old piece of paper, Go Declaration of Independence!! :cheer2::cheer2:) with a 4, 10, and 11 yo staring at me like I just grew another head.

I tried to plan a trip to WDW but with a family of 5, is it now cheaper to go on a 7 night cruise then to stay at Deluxe with dining for 7 nights. Plus, I was having a hard time getting reservations for the places I wanted to eat. Flashbacks to our family being escorted to our seats, Jose (or what ever our waiter's name was - I really gotta figure that one out. Side story, this will be our third time on the Wonder. I figured, wrongly, that our waiter from the first time wouldn't a.) still be there and b.) wouldn't remember me or my family from the first time. Well, guess what! He did remember us. :scared: And we were seated right next to his section....EVERY.....NIGHT. He asked me why I didn't request him. :faint: Bad Joni. Anyway. Back to the story of us joining this merry crew. Flashbacks of not having to wait in line, our perferred drinks magically appearing at the table, kids club CM wisking my children away right when they are getting on my nerves, and yummy chocolate desserts (souffle at PALO- need I say more). Combine that with tropical views, a wonderful kids club and a floating spa. Count me in - with a drink in my hand.

I would like to do FE and I hope that it isn't too late. I am still looking at excusions and trying to decide what to do.

I need to figure out transportation to the port. That is a challenge. I look forward to meeting all of you!!

The FE is closing tomorrow night (9/19) because it is 1 month out from the cruise.

If you haven't joined us yet over on facebook, please come.

We would love to have you. We are super active in there right now.
I'm not allowed to post links yet.... so.... you can find them higher up in the thread,

What airport are you flying in to? What day, and what time do you arrive?

I wish the super active would move to the forum. There are those of us that will not do Facebook and are therefore excluded.

I aked to join the facebook page and I put my info on the FE list. I hope that it stayed. I didn't see a save button.

Has anyone been to Jamaica or Grand Cayman before? I have been to Cozumel several times on cruises. We always go to the Occidental Grand and get day passes to sit on their beach and drink from their all inclusive well. Last time, it was a miracle we made it back to the boat. We could hardly walk straight. I won't be doing that again. :rolleyes1 Any other ideas for Cozumel?

Does anyone know the schedule for special nights like formal and pirates night? Normally I know all that stuff but not this time. I am going to try and keep this trip low key and not plan every second. However, I am getting a little anoxious thinking about keeping it low key. A normal trip to Disney involves months of planning, sewing and organizing. I only have a month to sew. I make custom boutique clothes for my kids. I love making outfits that coordinate with what activity is going on. I think this time I will keep it down to a dull roar and not go all out. However, I see matching pirate outfits and embarkation outfits in our very near future...(shhh, don't tell my husband, low key, remember ;)) Oh no, I better get on the formal outfits too. I wonder if I can convince my 11 year old to dress like Prince Charming.

We are looking at flying into San Anatonio - I don't think I spelled that right - and spending the night with some friends. Then we are going to get a rental car and drive to Galveston the morning of the cruise. That was by far the cheapest option for our family.

Unless, someone would like to split a limo ride with us from IAH?? We would prefer to spend the night in Galveston on Friday. We would be coming in from Alaska on Friday afternoon. If someone wanted to go half on a stretch limo, we would consider that option as well.

PrincessKayla: we were in Jamaica years ago and did a horseback in the ocean excursion, also climbed Dunn's River Falls, something most people do in Jamaica. One tip on Dunn's: it's best to do it early in day. We did it early and had the falls almost to ourselves; later in the day it can be like waiting in the buffet Liine at Cabanas!

Cruised to Grand Caymans twice but never set foot on the island. GC is a tender port and if the water's too rough they won't tender. We're doing an island tour with a stop at the Turtle Farm (cruising with our 4 yr old DGD, so high energy excursions are out).

Last: where in Alaska? I spent a summer in Kodiak yrs ago, and spent some time in Anchorage.

PS: we're doing transfers through Disney and staying at Hotel Galvez. For 3 people the transfers semmed the best way to go, but for hotels you can do much better price wise if you find a different way to get to Galveston, and if you shop around for hotel prices.

We are coming from Dallas too. It took us about 5 hours with three stops in May. Our son was only 6 months old on that trip and that was a long stretch for him. But he handled it like a champ. We didn't need the third stop but wanted him freshly changed and fed before going through embarkation process. Worked out well.

I posted earlier that the waiting area in the terminal really has not amenities so I wouldn't check in much before your boarding time. We left Dallas at 6:30 and was on the ship before 12:30 and didn't have to wait after checking in.

See everyone real soon.
Frank

Thanks Frank that is good to know. It probably won't take us the full 5 I just like to give myself time. We drive to Galveston and Houston twice a year so this will be no biggie.

61maris61 you say that on 2 previous trips to GC due to the tendering you weren't able to get off the ship. Curious what time of year those were? I know there is never any guarantee and if I can't get off the ship no big deal but just curious.

First was ten years ago in February, second was a few years back in January. A cruising friend of ours had the same problem a few months back (March, maybe?). Of course, with hurricanes and other storms, that could happen any time.

PS: when we got back to cruising about ten years ago (our first cruise was 1984), we did a Royal Caribbean ship. First port was Labadee, their private island. At the time hey didn't have a dock; it was tender only and we missed it because of rough seas. Next stop: Grand Cayman, missed it because of rough seas. finally made it to Jamaica after four days at sea - we were beginning to think we'd never see land again!

I bet that made for an interesting trip, 4+ days with nothing but ocean.

It may just be me but looks like this could be a pretty light ship for our cruise. Seems too not be as popular, ie lots of rooms still available.

I'm personally happy enough with our stateroom, but a Less than full ship might present opportunities for upgrades (at a price) or location changes. I'm pretty much a Disney neophyte, but I think I read the procedure for looking for an update is register first, then go to a different desk to ask about possible changes.

Now, if I could get upgraded from a balcony to a suite for little extra Cost I'd consider it, but THAT ain't gonna happen!
