10/17 Wonder -- Are you sailing with us?!?

I called and asked about this a couple of weeks ago. What I was told at that time was that the dining times would not be the trial times, except that was subject to change, but as of two weeks ago the regular times were in place for our cruise.

Woohoo:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc happy dance!!!

I finally called and made banana boat excursions for the 3 of us. Also, went ahead and changed our dining to the later......we'll sample room service or make sure we get to try those chicken fingers to tide us until the late seating!

Prymsu..........I keep "following" your posts to keep a track of how many days!

Well, I'm off to write a letter to each of my dd(11) teachers letting them know of the cruise.....then I guess I ought to seek them out for a face to face.............fingers crossed!

I bought my lime green ribbon today, and will be getting it ready to tie on my stuff soon! I am so glad we don't have too much longer to go.

If anyone gets your docs, please post on this thread so the rest of us can be in anticipation of receiving our docs!

oh, i just had another thought. Does anyone want to sit together at late dinner? If so, we should make those arrangements to link dinner ressies together. My friend Pat and I would love to share dinner with other DIS folks...just an idea...

Prymsu, we're already linked with MickeyMagic and her DD 10, It would be myslef, SCMinnie and DD8. If you want to link up our ressie number is 21235223.

Tom

would love to. We are doing late seating. Is this what you have?

Yes, we have late seating. It will be nice having a large table of DISers. We met MickeyMagic and DD in Jan at dinner- didn't know we were fellow DISers until halfway through dinner! Our servers thought we knew each other before the cruise.

I picked up a spool of lime green ribbon the other week. It was the closest thing I could find to lime green anyway. It is safely packed in the 'cruise box' ready to be tied onto everything:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

OK well if you don't mind, I will go ahead and have our dinner ressies linked to yours. I know the night in Nassau we will probably plan on Palos.

I have called and got our dinner ressies linked. It will sure be nice to be able to visit with you at dinner! thanx for letting us join you!

Hi! I just found out that I was assigned a cat 12 room. I booked with a guarantee cat 12 status and was REALLY hoping for an upgrade. Since I didn't get one, I decided to go ahead and pay for the room I REALLY wanted anyway...Navigator's Verandah! I was just checking and our ship is very full! Looks like there is only a couple of rooms left. I called today around 5:00 after seeing on travelocity's website that there were 2 cat. 7's available which haven't shown up as available for at least a week. I called to upgrade and they were already gone. Sure enough, I checked their website and there were no cat. 7's showing. Anyway, I checked again about an hour ago and there were 2 rooms on the website again. I called like mad and one was left! If I thought there would be one left when we arrived at port I would wait to upgrade to get a possibly better price but since there aren't that many of those rooms in the first place, I decided to grab it while I can.
Anyone been in one of these rooms or been on the 7th floor? We are in room 7628, which is really close to the secret verandah area at the back of the ship! Any info is appreciated! I am SO excited!
Ann

ann.........we'll be close to you in 7623!(cat. 11). Good for you that you did the upgrade yourself...........I believe you should always go for what you want. Less than 50 days!!! woohoo!!

Kris,
You're right! We are just a few doors down from you! I am so excited! Now I just need to get the courage to tell my boss that I won't be at work on Thursday and Friday! Once I get that done, I'm going to be barely containable! :Pinkbounc
Ann

Yeah, I'm kinda dreading telling my dd(11)'s teachers.........she's in 6th grade and we need to contact 8 teachers this time! I don't think dh has told work yet either........hmmmmmmmm.

I haven't told DD's teacher yet either. She will only miss a day and a half - the Friday were are on the cruise is a teacher workday. She is only on 3rd grade this year but I don't think she will miss much being gone for 1 day.

We plan on picking her up at school before they go to lunch and start driving to the Radisson.:Pinkbounc DH and I have already informed work that we will not be there those days.:)

Well, I AM a teacher! LOL! I am taking a personal day on Friday and calling in sick Thursday (which happens to be a half day for the students) but I thought it would be best to tell the principal so I don't feel so guilty! What do I say if I come back with a tan or sunburn? From the fever??? LOL!
What would you do???
I keep telling myself that family comes first and I am a VERY dedicated hard working teacher so I shouldn't feel so bad! If I was your child's teacher, I would have no problem at all saying "Have a great trip!"
;) Any advice???
Ann

ann..........you don't have to convice me that family is important! What memories will be made, and kids learn so much when traveling! I'm not familiar with my daughters teachers yet, so I don't quite know what their feelings are..........I guess I'll find out soon enough!

Yeah! I was reading over my teacher's contract and was doing a happy dance when I read that all teachers get TWO personal days! I always thought it was one! Now I don't feel nearly as guilty for taking off work! I will be leaving right after the students are dismissed on Wednesday, flying to Orlando and staying at the Hyatt!!!! I am so excited! Of course, I still have to let my boss know but I can't see a reason why he would have a problem with it! YEAH!!!!!

I'm not an 'active' expert on this anymore because I'm retired now, but I have always thought that a person needs to have a break from work now and then, and especially if you are a good worker, you deserve a reward. We all need to recharge the batteries now and then and it's great to be able to do something enjoyable and special. It isn't good if you abuse the privilege.

You shouldn't have to be in a position for your employer to make you feel guilty about taking some days off of work, and especially when they get advance notice so they can prepare for it.

The year before I retired, my manager was unhappy with me because I took time off for two short surgeries. In August I needed to have my gall bladder removed (the short version, not the long one) and then in October, I injured my knee and had to have arthroscopic surgery. He said 'well, I certainly expect that this will take care of your problems, won't it?' I said sure, unless I have another injury or illness. And by the way, I'll be taking my last two weeks of vacation at the end of December. I think he thought I should forfeit my vacation time, but fortunately, the company didn't have any such rule.

I may not have injured my knee on 'company time' but I'm very sure that my gall bladder went bad while I was working. lol

just my opinion

Has anyone got their documents yet ? they should start arriving anytime now for those of us who have our air . Thats makes it seem all the more real . See everybody soon .

I booked through Travelocity and still haven't gotten my excursion info! Of course, I really don't need it but if I did, I wouldn't be very happy right now! I hope my docs come on time!
