I wanted to share a few things we learned on our trip last week.
On party nights, the smoking area to the left of SM is moved to the right of SM (behind where the candy line is).
AK has 2 "designated" smoking areas in the entire park but a CM said you can actually smoke anywhere outdoors.
EasyWDW was spot on with their crowd calendars.
We hit AK at 9am and rode Safari, Kali, Everest (twice), Dino, and watched Its Tough To Be A Bug by noon. The park was nearly empty (10/20).
We hit Epcot at 8:45am on 10/21 for a 9am opening and at 9:13am Soarin had a 45 min wait.
After using our 3 FP+ at Epcot by 12:20pm, there were no FP+ left for Test Track for the entire day. It had a steady 50 min wait.
IFWF is not a good bang for your buck. Was oir first time trying it and the small amount of food you get for the price is just ridiculous. Never again.
MNSSHP was a blast on 10/22. The park was so NOT crowded. 7DMT had a 30 min wait. We skipped it. Was at MK on 10/19 and 10/22 and never rode it once. Instead, we rode BTMRT 5 times back to back with 0 wait (at the party) and had a blast.
On Monday 10/19 (a non party day) MK was super crowded. By 11am rides like BTMRR, Splash, POTC, 7DMT, JC, HM, etc were all 1 to 2 hour waits. It was insane. I highly recommend paying for hoppers and hopping to MK in the evening if you want to see MSEP during party weeks. Or simply go to MK on a party day and leave by 7pm.
BOG is very over rated. Food was good during lunch but its a once and done for us.
Ohana is very over rated. Worst service Ive ever had at any Disney restaurant.
Trails End is worth the trip. Loved this place.
You can still enjoy the fireworks from Poly beach, just no sound.
A CM came to us and told us to take food from the Hallowishes Dessert Party home (all we wanted) because it had to be thrown out otherwise. She even showed us how to pack food into our candy mugs. We didnt take any because we were afraid it would get messy in our bags. There was a table for 4 beside us who didnt show up so the CM told us to take those 4 mugs/candy, and we did. We got 7 skull mugs for the 3 of us.
We skipped the parade viewing area for the first parade. Went to the dessert party at 9pm and was let in to eat 30 mins early. It was great! Only us 3 and one other couple were there until 9:30pm.
Didnt feel a wholt lot of magic this time around. Other than the CM at the dessert party, it really just felt like any other theme park.
The 2 people with me had never been before. On conclusion of our vacation I asked them what was their favorite thing about Disney. They both agreed the relaxation and quiet at Poly Beach and Trails End. When asked what was their least favorite thing about our trip they both said (at the same time) "next time I dont want so many appointments to have to meet." They were referring to FP+, ADRs, having to hit park at rope drop, etc. It was very annoying to them both to not have the freedom to come and go without waiting in tremendous lines of 1hr + or being turned away completely.
I think we're going to see a lot more of that sentiment in the future. Its just way too much planning and scheduling.
