Ave & Mary,
we hope everything is OK with you. I just saw that Panama City got a lot of rain.

Hope that everyone had a great day. We were busy drooling over the $7,000 dollar embroidery machines that we can't afford. Mike

Hey Mike,
We get us a couple of tomato patches like this going, we can pay for the cruise and an embroidery machine. :teeth: This patch has 650 plants. There is another one with 200 more. They had golfball sized tomatoes on them two weeks ago. They will be the first ones to market in this county, and will bring a premium.

xlRacerXlx - You doing a back to back??

Allen the tomato patch looks great. Wish that you could cruise with us next year.

Hope that the twins survived all the rainfall.

Cathy is working on the logo for the cruise, and I think that everyone will enjoy it.

Kathy and I got to meet Nancy Zieman and she is quite a nice lady. We enjoyed the three day sewing seminar.

Mike

All those tomatoes are one more reason to call you BigRed, Allen :rotfl:

Ave & Mary,
I just saw that 'your' storm was called Arlene - This is after Jeanne last year the second time that you're reminded of your fellow cruisers by a storm's name ;)
We hope that this was not a bad omen for a heavy storm season - 2004 hit the Sunshine State hard enough.

We have had rain for 2 days here in Nashville from now tropical depression Arlene. Anyone know a good ark builder?

I noah one :rotfl2:

No real rain here although we really need it as the grass is turning brown. They keep predicting rain and we get a couple of drops but that's about it.

Was at the doctor's again this morning -- Jim woke up with an ear infection so he came too. I'm now fine but Jim has an infection in his right ear -- doctor was amazed that the two of us got ear infections in our right ears as it's not common for adults to even get ear infections. Off to the pharmacy for yet more medication but he should be feeling fine in a couple of days. Since he was up a large part of last night he's going to nap this afternoon.

The sewing seminar sounds interesting Mike - we have 2 sewing machines here but can't get either one working properly. They both have tension problems and although they've been looked at they still don't work properly. Not fancy machines though with the computerization stuff just older singers. Looked at getting a new one and can't believe how much they are. Needle and thread will have to do for now.

Hope Arlene was nice to those in Florida!

Fiona

We're watchhing the Formula One race in Montreal right now and it's still 31°C there. Fortunately temps are rising over here too: For tomorrow the forecast predicts 25°C. I hope that there's a real summer over here when we go to Vienna in three weeks - and when we pick up our new convertible :cool1: :sunny:

Funny episode in the gym today:
Every sunday we play Badminton, but before that we run 5 to 6 kilometers as a warm-up. Today all the new treadmills were occupied so we had to use two older ones. I usually run with a speed of about 9.6km/h (6mph) for the first 5 minutes and then raise it to about 12 km/h (7.5mph). So today we started on those old treadmills: I set the speed dial to 9.6, opened my car-magazine (I like to read while I run), donned my iPod headphones, and started running. After about 1 minute I wondered about my pulse being in the 160 range already and thought 'Oooh, I must be in bad shape today', after another minute my pulse was 180. So I checked the display of the treadmill and guess what? Some jerk had switched the darn thing's setting from metric to American!!!! I wasn't running at 9.6 klicks, but at 9.6 mph!!! That is 15.36 km/h :earseek: Needless to say that I pronto set it to 7.5 mph for the remainder of the time ;)

Hey Mike, I met Nancy Ziemans also, Many years ago I was in Wisconsin for business for a couple weeks, and drove on Saturday to her store. She met me at the door, and we toured her shop. She is very nice...

Bye, Kim

Kim, if you were in her store, you were about 1/2 hour drive from where we live :flower:

All I can take credit for with those tomatoes is eating them. A loaf of bread, jar of miracle whip and a sack full of tomatoes, and i'm done. :earboy2:
See ya'll about the end of next week. Headed out Tuesday for Mt. Rushmore, Big Sky, Montana, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, and a few other places. It's not a Disney Cruise, but it'll get us through the summer. Fresh pictures soon!
Allen

Allen: please remember to pack some warm clothing.........we did a similar trip for our "summer" vacation in June of '99 and were very surprised when it began SNOWING in Yellowstone! That Eddie Bauer store in Jackson Hole ended up getting a big chunk of our vacation budget since we had brought mostly shorts and t's. You will see some really pretty country, though....and more bison than you can ever imagine! There's a nice lodge near Old Faithful which is the model for the WL at WDW. Have a wonderful trip!

Oh My god... I remember it was late spring-early summer, when I was there. You guys had some fantastic thunderstorms that time of year, I loved it... I remember asking directions to the store from my hotel concierge, "He said it is a real long drive, I asked how long ?? " probably an hour" Heck, in NH we can drive an hour to go grocery shopping.

She now has a big new store, maybe some day I will make it back.

Jeanne G...

I checked the gift shops on DCL, those were the only places that you were able to get any drawings. They were all copies, mass printed. And no where near the characters you were after. Evidently "ducky" Williams was under strict warnings from DCL not to do drawings for people on the cruise. I suspect it all comes down to $$$ if DCL can sell a Litho vs you getting a drawing from Ducky.... guess what they decided...

Mike & Cathy, I am so jealous of you two going to a sewing seminar. Some day I hope to be able to attend one also...

Time to work,

Bye, Kim

This is funny: We have a nicely framed Ducky Williams in our living room. He drew it during one of the shows for Anja. By pure coincidence we sat right next to him when he asked everyone around 'Who's your favourite character?'. Soconds after your answer you had an original Duck Williams with your favourite character and a special dedication for you :teeth:

I see that Arlene was busy over the weekend pouring down rain down south. She wasn't nearly as misbehaving as Jeanne was last year.

I just framed and hung up Ducky's poster that we got last year. Also framed a poster from the Navigator series and the new one I got at WDW along with finally hanging the 25th anniversay one. Tried to give our living room a new look. Downstairs I did an entire hockey wall with some of those big pictures you get of your children that you never do anything with.

Monday morning and I am glad to be back to work. It has to be less busy than I have been the past 3 days at home.

Allen and family enjoy your trip. Sounds like a great time. Further west I have been as been Colorado. Which to me was red rock and blue skies. That is what all the pictures look like.

Nancy

Eric too funny about the treadmill. :rotfl: As fast as I run there is no need to do metric versus American units of measurement. :rotfl2: All of the measurements on stitch length and such on sewing machines are metric.

Fiona hope that you and Jim are doing better. Nancy it is good to hear from you. Hope that you enjoyed your trip to WDW. We are going with the grand-baby the last week of September for her first trip to the world.

What does everyone think would be a good location for the group photo next year? On deck seven verandah or in front of the Mickey statue? Mike

I think group photo should be on the dock at Castaway Cay, with the ship behind us. One of the Photogs last October told me that this would make a great photo and the location is acceptable to them. Even if you did not want to go the the beach, you can pop out for the photo then go back on the ship.

Sounds like a great idea, but requires everybody to either leave the ship at the same time or to return at the same time. I would vote for the second one as we're usually off the ship ASAP to get one of those hammocks at Serenity Bay ;)
