Jim you should have put the slice of skin from Fiona's finger in your Wendy's chili  Saw the woman who found the finger in her's on TV this am accompied by her lawyer of course. :rolleyes1 Mike

Hope that Fiona is doing better and that her finger heals fast. :love2:

Ave is home and doing well. She called about 1pm and said things went fine, but she was going to bed! :goodvibes
Lots of packing done today! Got to get back to it!

Hello All! We are home from our travels! Steve did VERY well and even had his driving privileges back the next morning! Just amazing! I'm next on this! I can't wait to get it done!
Easter was uneventful and a nice weekend with my family. However, at 530 this morning, while still in Cleveland, Connor got a stomach bug. It has made for a long day and an interesting ride home. It is good to be home and we can all sleep in our own beds tonight. Hopefully he will be the only one to be sick.
Fiona, good luck with your finger. I cut the end of my thumb off with the Pampered Chef Vario Slicer. I KNEW you were suppose to use the guard, but I was in a hurry....7 stitches later, I have never used it again. Oh well.....

Eric: The calendar is correct (or not wrong) because a lot of the country is closed, sort of... :)

Mike: If I found anything other than Wendy's chili in my Wendy's chili, there would be a lot more there when I finished.

As for her finger (the left index one, btw) it seems to be recovering very nicely, although I've been seconded to The First Aid Patrol and have to apply an antiseptic and a new band-aid later today. I'll be able to see for myself at that time.

Fortunately, she only gets these urges to cook 'decent' meals two or three times a year on special occasions. I absolutely, positively refuse to do it; if it's not Hamburger Helper or out of a can it's too much effort for the reaction the meal gets. From what I can remember, she's hurt herself the last couple of meals she made also.

Jim.

OK, I'm back.....and no more dial-up! I don't ever want to move again. I feel like my life is in utter chaos right now and I can't imagine ever being unpacked and settled. We close on the old house on Friday and God willing everything will go fine. I have never been so exhausted in all my life. Hope everyone had a nice Easter......As you may recall, it was cancelled this year in our household! More later.....I hope my new address shows up.

Got locked out of the posts again. I really dont know why this happens.

Hope everyone is well....

Ave hope that you have a speedy recovery
Mary good luck with the packing and the move. To all that have moved or are thinking about moving good luck.

Arlene we are glad that you and Andy are well and enjoyed the circus.

Fiona take care of the finger and quit trying to cook, girl. That is why the pizza, Chinese and deli's have take out. The high is supposed to be 74 degrees F today.

Rosemary and Rich are probably having too much fun with their new RV. Mike

So perhaps Fiona's cooking may give a new meaning to the term FINGER FOOD :teeth:

PixieDust to Ave ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for all the good thoughts prayers and pixie dust. The surgery went fine. I was very impressed with the care I got. They let me go home around noon yesterday. Got to the house and slept for a few hours. When I woke up Mark and Mary had plates full of my favorit foods waiting, and a lovely surprise package from Bettemom and Kim. You guys are the greatest! :goodvibes
Then slept a few more hours, and was brought dinner in bed, baked chicken, flavored rice and fresh steamed squash, with stawberry short cake for dessert.( No finger food.Sorry Fiona) And better than any hospital food.
Then back to sleep. Still very sore today. But up and about this morning. I have to see the doctor at 1:30 today. Then I'm going back to bed.
Lots of people calling to check on me. My boss even called me twice from Vancouver, Canada!
I've got to admit I am enjoying the rest and the attention. Might have to think about parting with a few more body parts in the future. :p And I'm glad it's over.

Very excited about my sister and her family returning to Florida tomorrow. :cheer2:

Got to get ready to go see the doc. Talk to you all later.

Love, Avé

Avé,

Glad to hear that you're surgery went well. I slept most of the day that I had my surgery, which was due to the drugs. :goodvibes

Ave ... Really glad to hear you made out OK with your Surgery. Just remember TAKE IT EASY. Take it from experience, you may think you are able to do more than you really should.

Well I know I've been MIA for a while. Things are really crazy at work and we have been told that they are watching our every keystroke to see what we do on the computer ... no more checking in at lunch or on break. We have to do 3 more logs of what we do minute to minute. They are hot and heavy to get rid of field offices a few at a time or maybe all of the offices at once. It is so draining to be under this scrutiny (sp) all day long that once I get home, I just want to sit. The agravating part is that I've had some of my clients tell me that they wish all the govenment offices worked as efficently as we do ... lot of good it does when the powers to be have no clue! Sorry to unload ...

Hope everybody's been OK.

Eric ... are you guys still going to the "tsunami area" ... we're worried about your safety.

Little trivia for you guys ... Did you know that an average ear of sweet corn has 800 kernels on 16 rows! OK who had the time to do the count?

Ave,

Glad to hear you're recovering and getting spoiled ;)

Tracy

Ave if you run out of pain medication you could always have someone run down to the store and pick up some Lynchburgh Lemonade to see you through :earboy2: For the ones that do not know the Jack Daniels distillery is located in Lynchburg, Tn. Moore county is a dry county. You can not buy liquor in the county anywhere. Legally that is, until the legislature passed a special law that allowed Jack Daniels to sell commemorative bottles on site. At the end of the free tour of the distillery, they give you a small glass of lemonade. There are over 50 barrel houses each holding about 4,000 barrels of whiskey that are in various stages of aging.

Hi Cathy,
good to hear from you :wave2:
Yes, we're still looking forward to our Thailand-trip. Tomorrow we'll be in the single-digit-countdown  After the recent quake there shouldn't be much tension left in the Earth's crust ;) So I guess we'll be quite safe. The people down there need our money and IMHO vacationing is much more fun than just donating :teeth:

Ave,
good to hear that you're well. What did you do with the old gall-bladder? The could have made coin-bag out of it, i.e. for the parking meter :rotfl2:

Ave - glad to hear that you are doing fine and getting spoiled rotten.

Thumb is healing well I hope. Mike - laughed at your post because yesterday I cooked by sending Jim out to get pizza.

A lot of snow has melted as it's been fairly nice here the last couple of days. Yesterday it was up to 14C. It's supposed to be warm again today but rain this afternoon so hopefully that will get rid of the rest of the snow that remains (except possibly the big huge piles in the mall parking lots!).

Off to the diabetic doctor this morning. Don't really like him so it could be interesting. Tomorrow is the dentist - not sure now why I thought this was a good idea to schedule them a day apart.

Fiona

Hi all! We are FINALLY all packed up and ready to move to PCB! The time of the closing has been moved from 10am to 2:30 pm :sad2: (no reason given) I think we should go to the closing at 10am with kids, cats, dog and hang around the waiting room for 4 1/2 hours. Maybe they would move the time up! :rotfl2:
We spent the night at my in-laws home last night and did catch the Amazing Race. What a show!
We have to go back to the house this morning and try again to find our missing kitty "Patches". She is hiding from us :confused3
Maybe she wants to stay in SC???
Ave, I will call you later.
