Having a great day so far. The kids are LOVIN the Playstation 2. :cool1: Breakfest at father-in-laws was awesome! Quail, deer sausage, pork sausage, ham, omlettes, biscuits and gravy. Going back for turkey dinnner at 5:30. I'm making corn fritters. Yummmm!
Cold and raining here today.
got to run
LOVE to All!

We also had constant rain over here at 8°C/46°F, but for Monday til Wednesday snow and ice are predicted. Anja is working on a different ward again, because her ward closed til 3 Jan 05. After barely a week on the other ward they are already trying to lure her away, but she has applied for transfer to the ophtalmologic walk-in clinic two weeks. This would mean no more shiftwork and no more weekends. Keep your fingers crossed for her.

We had a light snow all day here. It was very pretty for Christmas Day. No driving for us today so that was also a bonus. Gotta get back to clean up now. I'm sure when Bill gets home from taking his brother home, he'll be playing with his new toy...a remote control car! Hope everyone's Christmas was wonderful!

Eric & Anja -- Sure hope that Anja gets her transfer. As a nurse, I know how great the hours and days would be, altho I have always had a thing about eyes. Somehow anything connected with eyes turns me off. Thank goodness I had a lab partner who let me get away without having to do much in anatomy lab when it came to eyes. I can hardly stand to even put eyedrops in a patient or myself. My fingers are crossed for the transfer!

Had a good Christmas. Finally broke down and got a digital camera -- what fun! My nephew showed me how to transfer pictures to my computer, but when I had more pictures to add tonight, I couldn't do it. I guess I need to read the manual which I have somehow temporarily misplaced. The whole family went to visit my mom (who has Alzheimer's) in her assisted living facility tonight-- very sad -- in the last month she has seemed to be going downhill both physically and mentally quickly. We all took lots of pictures with her -- each one of us thinking that this may be her Christmas.

Hope you all had a great day!

Good luck on the transfer for Anja. Have fun with the plow Peter. Jean my father passed away in June and had alzheimers. It can only be hard to see one lose grip on some many memories. You are in our prayers.

Hope everyone had a great holiday! We had a great day until we got home from Tim's parents house...then we walked in and looked at our family room floor. Orion left us his very own present, and let's just say when a 90 lb Shepard has an upset stomach, it can create a smelly, "runny", "OH-MY-GOD-HOW-DO-WE-CLEAN-THIS-UP???" mess spread stragically all over the carpet. And my parents in Denver have borrowed my steam cleaner! Nothing says Merry Christmas like being on all fours with 4 rolls of paper towels, spot shot and bottle of Natures Miracle (good thing I bought a new bottle last week :earseek: )

Eric, I hope Anja gets that position with the "normal" schedule.....That is a mere fantasy for me to hope that Tim will ever get one! He goes back to midnights next month for a year. We'll actually get to see each other more, but he loses one day off a week sleeping!

After the uncertainty prior to our USA-trip this year due to the hurricanes, we are now facing the same situation regarding our upcoming Thailand-trip :guilty:
But as their problems over there are now much more severe than a spoilt vacation, we are going to wait at least a week before we contact our TA. A newscaster on the radio just announced that the death toll may exceed 15,000 :worried:

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!! Ours was a white Christmas for the first time in years which was kinda nice. We were up early yesterday as DS wanted to buy a laptop at the Boxing Day sale with money his great grandmother gave him.

Christmas was interesting yet again in our household thanks to my SIL. At 34 temper tantrums should not be allowed but she hasn't quite learned that yet. Jim has less kind words for her.

We are looking at options for Christmas next year.

Am going to take it easy for a week I think.

Hope Anja gets her transfer. No nights/weekends would be great.

Was watching the news about Asia and it's unbelievable that damage that was caused and the loss of life.

Take care everyone.

Fiona

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM...
