Any advice from the October cruise vets? We've only ever done summer cruises.

If you are referring to what clothes to pack, no difference between summer and fall cruises. Which is why many of us are buying those great end of summer bargains.

Glad to know I'm not the only one thinging of packing. DH thinks its too early but I have started adding things to a back-up as I pick them up. (Ibuprofen, sunscreen, etc.)

Jim also thinks it's too early but I said it's really not that far away esp. as we will be away for 2 weekends between now and the cruise.

Actually, I'm pretty much completely packed already....at least as far as clothing is concerned!

Gosh, I still have to wear the clothes that I would be packing for the cruise so I won't be packing until I come back from my conference. I don't think I have enough disposable underwear to last through my Sept conference and 2 week in Oct so may have to actually bring some of the good stuff.

I started working on our check-list like 6 weeks ago. We will pack on the weekend before we leave and will do a complete check of the luggage on Wednesday 9/21. On Thursday we'll have to attend our favourite class at the gym (The Pump) and on Friday I'll have the 2006 Company Outing. As I'm part of the Event Team and thus responsible for the show I won't have any time for packing on Friday. I'll come home from the Fest around midnight and then have to leave for teh airport at 730am.

We will be wearing muchof ours up to the last minute, so clothing won't be packed, but other things are being set aside. Our CafePress shirts are here and ready!

You are all making me feel so bad!! Got some stuff in the case from summer but the rest will have to wait.
Wendy

I try to take as little as possible so it's not a big deal. With 2 days at CC and both excursions involving beach activities, there's very little daytime clothing required. Basically, I need an outfit for dinner every night and then just a few shorts and t's. Plus, my dinner outfits are interchangeable so it's not even 7 separate outfits. The best thing about cruising with "friends" is not feeling like you have to impress anyone.

I'm starting on the 'list' which hopefully will prevent things like certain people forgetting their bathing suit on a trip to Florida. I won't mention any names but it wasn't me. :goodvibes

We will probably pack the weekend before we leave which is our Thanksgiving but I'll probably have to go into work sometime over that weekend too so the timing could be tricky. It will be fun though.

I've already got a basket of stuff to go including our MNSSHP tickets.

Can't wait.

Fiona

Jeanne, I didn't even think about not needing shorts and T's on those days! I think I may be taking even less clothes!
Lily, what shirts did you order from CafePress? I am curious to see them!
Happy Friday All!

;) Very true Jeanneg. I was wondering if I needed anything "long" other than what I was wearing down on the plane. I am trying to keep it down to one suitcase each, then a third for the snorkling stuff.

Wendy, please don't feel bad, with all family goings on here it will probably be the night before departure before I actually "pack" and then after I get back from weight training. BTW if you don't hear from my kids this weekend, know that your package arrived and was very much appreciated by all the Adams children.

Thanks everybody for your advice..

(Un)fortunately we'll have to pack for four weeks :rolleyes1 and as we don't like to do laundry while on vacation (Except for our running stuff), we'll pack a lot. We're allowed 4x 50lbs & 2 carry-ons, but hope to be able to get along with 3x 50 & 2 carry-on - at least on our way to the USA. On the way back we most probably will need four bags as we intend to hit Florida's facory outlets heavily (Shop til we drop :teeth: )

I think I'd much rather do a laundry now and then rather than lug around all that stuff!

I think I'd love to have four whole weeks off together :cool1:

That's what porters and bellhops are for ;)
We'll perhaps do some laundry at Ave's place before heading over to WDW. I'll start packing our dive gear and some other stuff today to get a feel for the number of bags we'll need. The problem since 9/11 is that before that you could really fill your bags until you needed to kneel on them to be able to close them, but nowadays you must always count in that security personnel may handsearch it and so we only fill them to 90% to make their job a bit easier.

No. That would have been too scary.

He now has 2 bathing suits since we went to a two for one sale though. :goodvibes

I think we all should go to FL a day early with empty suitcases and shop till we drop for ALL new clothes!! :woohoo:

We are done shopping, but each week the girls and I seem to shop just one more time!

For anyone who knows about toys ~ the girls and I were at ToysRUs last night and I saw this strange looking dog that was on pencils, necklaces, keyrings, diaries, pencil boxes, backpacks, etc. I believe he is for girls and I think his name was Diddl which I can't believe or am I pronouncing it wrong? Is he on a show or something?

Cute, but not a good name.
