10-14-2006 Cruisetoberfest IV

Hi all! I've just read about 30 pages of the thread, and I couldn't find anywhere that I'd already introduced myself! So, here goes... I had rebooked onboard the 10/22/05 cruise for the 10/14/05 cruise, of which I was going to surprise my dh at Christmas that I had booked & paid the deposit. Well, he is NOT the disneyfan that I am and even though he enjoys the cruises somewhat (& is completely tired of WDW!), he mentioned that he probably wouldn't be ready to do another cruise for a while. Well, the Oct. cruise was our 1st 7 night cruise, our 1st cruise being a 4 nighter in 12/03. So, I could see the pattern that he was not wanting to go for a few more years. I truly hate that, 'cause I am totally hooked! Now, not only will I do WDW at least once a year, I NEED to do a cruise too! I have just decided not to even mention to him about the cruise yet, and now it will be myself, my 5yo dd, my best friend, and her 5yo ds! We always have much better Disney trips when the grumpy old men don't go anyway! We are very excited and are planning away!

Has the '07 Cruisetoberfest date been set yet? Has anyone booked it? I'm already thinking about next years trips too, since I'd really like to spend 2 weeks in Hawaii. Gotta make a plan!

It's a great bunch of people here although at the moment we seem to be either too busy or tired from the holidays to post much.

Date for the next one hasn't been set yet - we usually do that on board or closer to the cruise but it wouldn't hurt to start thinking about it although the huge increase for 2007 DCL cruises hurts!

Welcome Tiffany......glad to have you join us! I am also from NC, as are many others on this cruise. Don't worry about not sailing with hubby. Several other moms (Marianne and Sharon come to mind immediately) will be sailing with kids and without spouses.......we're all just one big happy family, so you'll have a great time whatever. Rumor has it that DCL will be sailing in Europe during 2007. If that turns out to be true, we'd like to do one of those. I understand the rates are going up like crazy, but thought I might be able to get a good deal if I book it during the Oct '06 cruise. Just have to wait and see.

Thanks for the welcome! I would soooo love to do a DCL Europe cruise! That may be the only way I can get my dh to go back to Europe! We haven't been since our honeymoon 10 years ago! He is just NO fun at all!

Hi Tiffany -- Welcome from another North Carolinian! This is a great group. Know what you mean about a vacation without the men in our lives. My best friend and I just did a WDW vacation in October and it was more fun without my DH. Probably because she has only been there once before whereas Sam has been doing 3 or 4 trips a year since we joined DVC in 1994. We look forward to seeing you on the cruise.

I'm planning on relaxing this weekend. Last weekend was DS's hockey tournament...fun, but lots of games. We're hosting a murder-mystery dinner party with a bunch of friends. The scenerio is 1920's Chicago. Everyone has gone all out for their costumes. Should be a blast!
