Hmmm, don't know how I missed that one.....I guess I drink alot of schnaps, too! :rotfl:

You may not believe me, but since the last Sail-Away-Party I only had Schnaps once - last June at a friend's birthday party. Unfortunately that Schnaps was accompanied by about 10 bottles of Beck's Gold, which made me call God later that night on the Big White Telephone several times - followed by a Holy Oath never to drink again ;) at least not that much pirate:

Ha,ha...I NEVER heard that expression before....I like it! We usually just call it "praying to the porcelain God!" I do drink schnaps regularly - at least in the wintertime - I enjoy the peppermint version in my hot chocolate before a roaring fire with a good book....it's the best hot toddy in the world!

I learned that one from a Kiwi - a coworker of mine from New Zealand ;)
But it was also on Jim's list of barf-synonyms :rotfl2:

Howdy from the Hills! Sorry I haven't been around much! Trying to get caught up on the home front!

Welcome to Michele...from Michele! I am glad to find another Michele that spells her name correctly! :teeth: Our boys will be 9 and 11 at Cruise time, maybe Nicole can hang with them..if boys aren't too icky!

Got some snow today...not much though, just a dusting. Going to head out to Dave's Famous Barbeque with friends for dinner in a little while. Enjoy your weekend!

No snow here, temps still in the 40ies, but colder weather predicted for later this week.

The cold weather here was 12 degrees F or -11 degrees C this morning. :cold:

Happy President's Day to all our American friends

Michele -- We are indeed the minority in the spelling of our name. I use to think my parents like the name Michelle and being Dutch, they did not know how to spell it correctly. Now being older and meeting more people with the same name, I am pleasantly surprised at how many of us "Single L Michelle's" there are. :thumbsup2 Our daughter, Nicole, is just coming out of the "boys R Yucky" stage and is starting on the "boys R cute" one -- so she would LOVE to hang out with your two!

Fiona -- We are indeed in the same backyard, you would be only a 10 minute drive away. Anytime you want to meet up, just let me know!

Thank you everyone for the greetings -- we look forward to meeting all of you, especially the schnap drinkers ...

Enjoy your Monday,
Michele

Michele,
please don't get the wrong impression: I rarely drink Schnaps!!! I'm not a teetotaler, but close to it ;)
Nevertheless DW and I will bring 100 mini-bottles of Schnaps for the Sail-Away-Party. Each bottle contains 0.02litre - about a shot. 100 bottles make 2 litres, which is the maximum allowance according to US Customs Regulations. In 2004 those 100 bottles lasted about 45 minutes. We will probably bring three different flavours: Sweet Apple, Sour Apple, and Plum. But perhaps we leave out the Sour Apple as it wasn't that big a hit last time ;-)
DW & I drink only when we're on vacation or at special occasions, i.e. New Year's Eve.

Hi everyone - Is this the official thread for the October 14, 2006 Special Western Cruise?

We just booked this cruise. Our group consists of me (Kathy), DH (Denis), DS14 (15 at the time of the cruise) and DD12. We'll be in a Category 9 on Deck 2. Our first cruise was in May 2005 on the Wonder and we LOVED it. We can't wait for this 7-night cruise! :thumbsup2

Is there a list somewhere of everyone who'll be on this cruise? My, this is a long thread! :teeth:

Hey Eric, don't leave out the Sour Apple, it was my favorite.

Welcome to all our new friends.

OK Sharon, Sour Apple for you :drinking1 , which I like best, too.

Welcome to the newbies

Hi Kathy- Welcome to the group! :sunny: I have a DS15 and DD12 (and DD7) cruising with us also.

Eric- I'll have the sweet apple again. Thanks! :drinking:

I, too, only drink on special occasions.....every day that I am alive is special and something to celebrate in my book! :goodvibes

Welcome Kathy and family! Glad to have you join us!

And just for the record, I enjoyed the cherry schnaps last time. I added it to champaigne as Eric suggested and it was delicious. But I guess the plum will be a suitable substitute!

Hi Cruise mates!

It sounds interesting on the drinks menu! Same here, social drinker...party is where I am!
:teeth:
Really though, have no idea what most drinks are if called by name.
