Truth be told, my temperment is like a woman's but my brain works more like a mans! (Could be either a good thing or bad)
And on that note, I'm going back to work! At this rate, I may have to sleep with the boss to keep my job!

Do you think he will do it if he learns that you have a man's brain?

.......Anyone who is thinking of staying at the Radisson just let me know. I will not "do" anything until after 1/1/06.......

We will be coming in the day before the cruise but I think we will probably pass on the Radisson. It was nice but the shuttle thing didn't work out for us and we ended up parking at the dock anyway and paying the extra bucks. Not sure where we will stay. PLENTY of time to work that out! ....(For those of you who don't know me very well, I am the world's BIGGEST procrastinator!!!! LOL! -- I'll still be packing and figuring out our itinerary the day we are to drive down!)

That's not what I meant. What I wanted to know do we have any set plans in motion yet? Or even UNset plans? I think the last I heard is that you are coming down on Saturday and leaving Sunday??? Still would like you guys to come out to our house if at all possible. I took Monday off, ya know!

We are coming, but we're flying in to maximize our time. If we going to stay in mid-town, we don't plan on renting a car. How will we get to your house? Does the subway go there? I know very little about LonGGGa Island except how to pronounce it.

As you can tell, I'm trying to catch up here.....Congrats to your son. I never did get back to see the video but I will try again since it is now a winner and still on the site.

Wendy, I just finished viewing your photos.....they are amazing. Of course, my mouth was watering because about nearly half of them are of FOOD!!!!!!! ..........I love the photos of Mum in her Nascar outfit!

Wendy - Can I have a link to the photos too? Great detailed trip report you wrote. Rich (my DH) did the NASCAR thing in WDW when we were there in October. He LOVED it!

I had a huge post that just went away. Damn It.

If we come to NYC we might come by train. Maybe for a good airfare it may be cheaper to fly as Amtrac is not cheap. Jeanne what airport do you fly into? Also as part of the bribe to stay on this cruise, I remember a certain person telling me that they would show us around so we don't get lost.
I think Eric said that Peter is the event organizer.

After the second posting on SUDUKO, I think I understand a little better. It looks like it might make my brain short cirucuit doing it.

I'm off today and went to the gym. I'm sure that if I sweat enough I should get thinner.

FINALLY!!!! All caught up. Still things I wanted to respond to but that was hard and time-consuming!!

No Jeanneg. No subways come to our home!! We are a little over an hour's train ride from Penn Station. If Eric/Anja, Peter/Jenn and you guys return back home on Sunday, there will be no time for a Tuli-home visit. HOWEVER, since the germs don't necessarily HAVE to return on Monday (but Jenn and Peter do), I was wondering how I could get Eric/Anja to stay one more day in NYC and then come out to the Island and then we could have our visit and take them to Port Jeff or Orient Point to catch the ferry across the sound back to New England but then I don't know how they would get back to Boston from there. Or perhaps, we could get them booked on the Hampton Jitney. I think that goes to Boston via the PJ Ferry.

Just throwing out what's in my head --

EDITED FOR CORRECTION: I meant to say that Eric/Anja do not necessarily have to return to New England on SUNDAY. I think Peter and Jenn do. Glad to see Eric confirmed they are staying to Monday but I am confused now about Peter/Jenn. I thought earlyon someone said something about having to work on Monday....

I just had a look at my avatar and saw below it that I joined the boards in August 99 officially (I originally joined the boards late in Jaunary '99, but that info - and about 1000 posts got lost with server breakdown). So it's my 6th anniversary on the boards this month

Regarding the night before the cruise, we think we'll be staying at either the Radisson or Ron Jon's. Either way, we're going to skip the hotel shuttle and use the rental car shuttle that morning.

Eric, To answer your question re: septic system. We do have a sewer system in PCB, but it does not reach into our lot. When you have a pump controled septic system, the yard has a very large mound of dirt that is hard to ignore. Sort of like you buried a few horses in shallow graves. It is not very attractive, and we like to use our yard for lots of different things. All, generators work great when you have gas, but gas stations need electricity to pump gas. And in the case of widespread damage/power loss, this could be a problem. One more thing, in the event of flooding, power or no power, if the septic system is at the same level of the house, the nasty stuff will flow right back into the house. We hope this never becomes an issue, but we would rather spend the money now, then worry about what could happen. Ok enough of this sewer talk.

Peter is looking into hotel rooms.

Is there anything worth seeing on Long Island - apart from Tuli Mansion and A & A Estates?
Perhaps it would also be fun to spend the extended weekend (Sat-Mon) there (I'm just brain storming now!!) and just do a day-trip (Sun) into New York. I saw a lot af very affordable hotels on L.I.

Nancy: I don't think it's Amtrak you want to take. Is there such a thing as NJ transit?
I need to ask Jen what she took......I know it was VERY cheap (like $6).....she drove her car from Bethlehem to a Park n Ride in NJ and just took the train into Penn Station. As long as we arrive before you, we will meet you at PS and hold your hand walking through the big, bad streets of NYC!
