10/12/08-4 night Wonder anniversary cruise

Renysmom, I'm reading about you looking at the ocean from your balcony during a break from cleaning my garage. OK, I'm a little jealous!

Dont be too jealous, we are all going to be doing it in 6 WEEKS from tomorrow

I am in our room Dis'n and BURNT crisp... I fell asleep on the beach while John was doing other things and was out there an hour longer than I expected.. Oh well, I usually burn once real well and that is it so hopefully this is it for the cruise.. We actually went out today and picked up a few things for the cruise..luggage locks, real luggage tags, a few shorts and T'shirts... John is finally getting excited and asking lots of questions and I am freaking cause I am forgetting lots I know I read about so I will be spending lots more time on the cruise boards "studying"

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, we are driving home tomorrow so i have one day at home before back to work for the long stretch till October 10th when we head down.

I hope that all are safe and none of you are in the path of Gustav..

Wow! Time sure it getting closer
I always pack early. Will start this weekend. Already bought new suitcase. DS and I will try to share
We will be flying SW out of Manchester, NH on Oct 9. Direct flight We will have to drive nearly 7 hours to NH, but price was right. It is expensive & a big hassle to fly from Canada.
I found cutoff pants with skull rhinestone on leg...so cute!

YIKES Just checked my reservation online and noticed our itinerary has changed!!! Monday is Day at Sea, Tuesday - Nassau, and Wednesday - Castaway Cay. I have Comfort Suites booked for Atlantis on Monday per the original itinerary. I'm sooo glad I saw that so I have time to change. I also noticed ALL of my bookings have changed to correlate with the port day they were scheduled for....i.e. My Palo brunch moved to Monday, Palo Dinner to Nassau Day. Hope this doesn't affect anyone too much, but wanted to give you the heads up.

Wonder why they changed they changed the itinerary?? I was looking forward to the last day being at sea but I guess it really doesn't matter. With all these storms out there, I am just hoping we aren't affected so I will take any schedule.

If I have time I will make some door decorations but it's not at the top of my list to get done.

Hi - I haven't contributed to this board for ages so glad to see it's still going strong and everyone is getting excited for the trip less than 6 weeks away!

I have just read AmyM's post about the itinerary change - and checked out our reservation on line too. I know it's not the end of the world but I booked Palo's for the original sea day (15th October) on the first day that CC members could book to ensure we got this date as it is our actual 25th wedding anniversary that day. I see that DCL have changed our Palo ressie to the new sea day of 13th October.

It is our first child free, adults only cruise and I was really looking forward to DH and I celebrating that particular evening at Palo's. One advantage is that we will be at CC for the day which will be great but I feel really disappointed about Palo's. I have emailed DCL but am not sure if they will be able to change it as no free reservations are available on the website.

Has the itinerary change affected anyone else?

Hi guys,

Just thought I would check in, I do plan on putting a sign on my door.. nothing huge just something with our names on it, and I did borrow some mickey heads from home depot that last time I was there. I do not have a fish extender, but the sign will be there.

Wow I didn't realize our itinerary changed, it doesn't effect me because the only thing I booked was parasailing, everything else I am playing by ear. Shouldn't we get a notification if that happens? Doesn't effect me, but I can see where some people may be a little annoyed.

I had one of my anxiety dreams last night about the trip... one of those I can see the ship, but it left with out me, and every port I try to catch up with the boat I just miss it. LOL I need a vacation before my vacation!

I saw that on another board someone from the week after us said it was due to them trying to save fuel. I went to ours and sure enough, we're changed too! I dont' care - I just want to go!!!!!!

Hey, can you tell me what the fish extender is? I've heard of it - but have no idea what it is.

Well this will be my first cruise, so I have only seen pictures, but there are metal fish next to the doors to your stateroom in the hall. Some people hang a fish extender off of it, the ones I have seen pics of have 2 or three pockets that people can leave gifts in for you. If you search the boards you will probably find pictures of one.

I'm disappointed because I have Tuesday too! Our reservation is at 6:30. I think there should be some way they notify you when they do these changes and ASK you if you want to miss pirates night, etc. I don't want to miss Palo - but I also don't want to miss Pirates. Decisions, decision.

Good news - within 4 hours I had an email from DCL to say they had reinstated our Palo reservation to 15th October. I was really impressed with the quick and polite service!

Can any of your repeat cruisers give me some idea of what takes place time wise during the pirates night? We have reservations that night for Palo - but I'd really hate to miss all the fun of the POC. Our reservations are fairly early - 6:30 - but now I'm thinking we may miss alot of the fun.
