10/1/21 (Planning thread for those w/ Magic Kingdom ressies on the BIG 50th)!

the rumor dropped by WDWMagic says Genie+ is dropping “the first week of October”, which to me doesn’t sound like an Oct 1 drop or I think they would have said that. I wonder what lines will be like that day!!
I have no idea!! Crazy for sure!!!

All I know is I have a late breakfast and early dinner adr and will fill in what I can in between!!

I've been looking every day since late Feb for a park res opening for MK. Well, a few minutes ago my luck struck. I got my park res for MK on the 1st! Im a resort guest so if you are in the same boat it might be worth checking. The calender said full but I cancelled my Epcot res for the 1st and tried for MK and it went through!

This is how I got mine, but I’ve been using my sister’s account to check availability just in case it keeps showing as available for me because I’ve already got one. As far as I can tell, for the past week+ you have been able to book MK by actually attempting it, even though the calendar says no. So weird, right? And I’m not a resort guest either!!

So I have a question...

I'm staying at the Grand Flo with reservations at MK on 10/1.

With the park reservation system now, can I go back and forth to the hotel and not have to worry about getting denied access later in the day due to capacity?

I just can't see access denial happening if you have a park reservation for that day. I've been during NYE week twice and even then MK would close for maybe an hour and then open back up again. Maybe they will disallow hopping if it gets too crowded, who knows.

So what would be the strategy to get to the MK early like 5am ish on the 1st, considering your are not at a monorail resort?
My friend and I are going to do a Lyft/Uber and drop off outside the GF but not within their gates since we don't have an ADR for breakfast. I'm sure we can find a place to duck and roll and then just walk to that new pathway they built to the MK. 🤣

So if your staying at a deluxe you get the opportunity to get in a half hour before the rest? Staying at the yacht club. And just concerned with buses running early. Torn between a Uber/ Lyft or rolling the dice on bus

Not just deluxe, any onsite resort or resort that is included (S&D, select Disney Springs resorts, etc). Starting Oct 1st, this is true for all 4 parks, every single day.

Deluxe resorts get extended park evening hours as scheduled- but all resorts get the extra 30 min in the morning!

Oh is it now opening earlier too? I thought it was 9 A.M now it says 8.

Oh you're so right! I didn't even look at the opening hours. Thank you for catching that!

Still haven't decided what time we'll want to show up that morning. Probably going to be too excited to sleep anyways! haha

Luckily it won't be like Disneyland's 50th because of the park reservation, people were showing up the night before. I would still advise getting there early. Im at AS Music so my bus will be there later than some of the other busses. We decided we're going to uber to the Contemporary around 430-5am and then walk to till they stop us

Ugh we were staying at the contemporary but that became too expensive with no discount. Guess my idea of being on a bus by 6 might be too late. Oh well. It is what it is.
