Packing......Yet another advantage of cruising with 100+ friends! Forget the dental floss????Ask Jen for some! Need a tylenol? Ask one of the nurses! Last year I packed a "just in case bag" with all sorts of stuff (Imodium, eye drops, Benadryl ect) then put it under the bed without bothering to unpack it. If I needed one of the items, I knew it was there. If not, no need to have it in the way the whole time.

Jill Adams..condolences on your loss.

Ave...any response from DU yet?

LauraRN...is Mooreseville where all the NASCAR shops are?

No Doc dance for me!

Just heard from DU. Docs were returned to Disney at "recipiant moved". So now we have to pick them up at the port.
Oh well, one less thing to pack!:p
Jill, So sorry about your loss. :(

Packing? Are you guys packing already? Not me, I'm waiting till Thursday night, and Friday morning. Still looking for a black or red one piece bathing suit, then I can wear the cool pants that Jeanneg sent me as part of my bathing suit cover-up. :smooth:

Eric and Anja will be here tomorrow!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We have got to go food shopping tonight. Hate to buy food when we are leaving next week, but thanks to the tornado, we lost everything in the frig and freeze. So we have to re-stock.

Can't wait to meet and great everyone!

Plus I most have my hoodie as I am always cold. I am like the only person on the cruise who is always wearing a sweatshirt.

They won't be able to tell us apart! I am always cold too. The first cruise I brought very few t-shirts, mostly tank tops, and froze! I always bring a cardigan or two for dinner now.

Jill Adams, sorry to hear about your grandmother. Even though you know she's better off now, it's still hard to see her go.

TOO FUNNY GUYS! :hyper:

I also do the "vacation underware" thingy! I also pack the kids worn out PJs then toss them the morning we leave the ship.

We should have put it on the t-shirts:
"Vacation Underwear" Use it then Lose it!!

Ave, I'll bet IVAN made your doc undeliverable
:earseek: I guess you'll be filling out the paperwork at the check in desk. I'll check in with you and lend a hand:tongue:
Have fun with the GERMS! Tell Eric I got his package today and will bring it to him at the Radisson.

Time to watch Survivor!

Hi Guys Kim here....

Packing !!! OMG I just made the t-shirts... Sleep is an option, I just keep repeating that. I of course will travel with another complete medical kit, right now though I am using my medical kit.

For all you Nurses out there, 3 weeks ago I had a deep 8mm skin cancer removed from my leg, guess who has been on Cipro, Keflex and Bactroban all at the same time for the past 2 weeks after a culture showed Gram Neg and Gram Pos. That stuff just wipes you out. Dr's are being pretty agressive since I will be sailing the high seas in a week. Next week I graduate to only one antibiotic for 2 more weeks, YEA !!! So I have been laying low for a while.

My lab staff and the owner of my lab are so fantastic they are working so hard getting ready for me to leave, they do not want me to have to work on the trip, only if they e-mail me and have a problem.

We are so sorry we will miss the meet at the cape, but we will have our own mini meet in Orlando, and I can't wait to see you guys Saturday AM...

Bye for now,

Kim

I just heard from the Germs!!!!!

They are still in St. Augustine, but plan on being here in PCB around 2-3 tomorrow afternoon.

Kim, OMG...will you need me to remove some sutures? You know I just LIVE for that stuff. :jester: All kidding aside, glad you're OK.

Jim, just bring something to wear on your feet. :p We won't look!

 Love the underware slogans!!!! Use it, then lose it!!!!!!

Thanks for all the tips on packing....the underwear ideas had me ROTFLOL!

RellingTwin-Yep! We're in Mooresville..."Race City USA", there are race shops all over the place here and of course, the local favorite -Dale Jr.'s is the most popular. We're less than a mile from an area with several shops. You can hear them testing the engines.

I'm so bummed about all this bad weather in the Atlantic. I've been reading the threads on all the changes for this upcoming weekend. I really hope CC holds out okay for us. I was so excited when they opened it up again...now Jeanne is heading that way:( I know Jeanne (hopefully) won't affect our travel, but I'm watching Lisa now. I guess just cross our fingers and hope and pray for the best.

twhipple--- I also bring along a long sleeve denim shirt so either the hoodie or denim shirt is on me at all time. For dinner, I will be wearing some sort of sweater. My family all thinks I am crazy, I have a hoodie on all summer because the AC is so cold and to get warm I go sit outside with the hoodie on.

Kim--- I haven't done the shirts at all so you are a step ahead of me. Sorry to hear about your leg. The current trend in dressing is for silver dressing to be used over the incisions or open wounds. You even see silver in bandaids now. I will try to remember to throw a couple of silver dressings in my suitcase in case you might need them. Wound care is my specialty.

Still only have the suitcase open with nothing in them. Maybe I should at least throw the old underwear in, however I am running out of old underwear since this is my second cruise for the year.

Missed Survivor again and most of The Apprentice.

Ciara--I'm sorry this is so late, Honey, but I'm sure you'll be celebrating all year. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!:bday: :cake: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Jean & Sam--Happy Anniversary.

Jill--my condolences on your loss.

Kim--as I'm not a nurse, your post was Greek to me. But it sounds horrible! :scared: Hope everything is okay.

Didn't hear any answers on the origin of Ocktoberfest! Where are the Germs now?

Count me in on the sweater. I remember how cold I was at dinner the last cruise. (Ruined the sweater, too! My dress was beaded & the knit got caught in a couple of places.)

Mary Jo, when I was in NY/PA in July, I brought the BIG suitcase. I had Tom's help w/it going out, and my brother's help in Syracuse. I didn't have Tom's help when I got home, and I couldn't lift the thing! It was awful! So I'm bringing the smaller suitcase, and I'm packing very light!

It's been an interesting work week for me. My mgr decided to "shake things up". He reassigned me to three financial advisors--one of whom I worked with before--and I can't stand him! One of the others, I don't know real well, but I think he has the same personality as the first. The third is new, transferring from another branch, so I don't know him at all. I lost the two FA's I currently work with. I've been with one for over 2 years--we work so well together.

I have hated my job (except for the one FA) for a longest time. I just never had the nerve to quit. After yesterday, I almost walked out on the spot. But after calming down, I realized I can't be without a paycheck--especially while on vacation. So, I'm staying, but I'm actively looking elsewhere. I start w/the new guys on Monday, for 4 days, then I'm gone for a week. Oh well. They'll have to survive.

It'll be interesting to see how Tom reacts when he finds out (it's one of the things we fought about for so long). I'm not telling him until I actually have a new job. Maybe not until he tries to call me at work & they tell him I'm not there! :teeth:

Heidi & I are going to try making the t-shirts this weekend. Wish us luck!

Well, gotta get going--need some sleep.

Marianne

Ok I feel better. We haven't made the t-shirts yet either. Jim just keeps nodding and mumbling his few words. Oh well that's what this weekend is for.

Jill - so sorry on the loss of your grandmother. No matter what the circumstances it's still hard.

Off to work early today and I don't want to stay really late.

Any hurricanes that are listening can go visit Iceland for a while -- I certainly wouldn't mind.

Fiona

Happy Birthday & anniversary to those celebrating:cake:

Since there are so many b-days during our cruise week is anyone up to meeting one night in the club for some birthday drinks:drinking1

I emailed all the jetty park people - Arlene are you coming?

You are all too funny with the underwear :p

Kim your experience does not sound fun, glad to hear you are doing fine. How did you know to get something checked out? was it a mole? I ask cause I have this mole that bothers me and I know I should go in but I absolutely hate doctors, no offense anyone.

Kim Kathy said to have the mono-stat ready. All the antibiotics will lead to a new problem.

Hope that the Germs enjoy PCB.

Happy belated birthdays to all and our condolences to Jill. I lost my father in June, but I know that he is in a better place.

Have our fingers crossed on this latest hurricane so that it does not interfere with our hotel stay or cruise. Mike

Everyone please chip in so we can buy Nancy some new underwear......poor thing has been cruising too often!

OH NO, there's a tag fairy spy among us! I suppose I'm branded now until I make another stupid comment to replace it!

Obviously the tag fairy has no problems understanding Peter!.

Really quite funny.

Kim - I'll echo what Kathy said. Last round of antibiotics wasn't pleasant. :p
