That terrific and what an awesome opportunity. I wish him and his buddy all the best. Keep us posted as to how it all works out. When are you planning your trip to NY?

My vote for all time best deli: Katz (Best cornbeef and pastrami in the world).

I thought that I read that the Pineapple resort was about 30" away from the port. Sam and I are still in!

Peter,
we won't be at the Radisson, respectively the Grills before Friday afternoon as we'll be driving to Orlando from PCB on Friday morning to meet Fiona & Jim enroute.

Folks,
we got a new president: Mr Köhler made it. He used to be the boss of the International Monetary Fund (World Bank) until some months ago before he retired to start his campaign. In economically difficult times like now he seems to be a good choice.

Hi Everyone! We're back from Orlando! Wow lots of pages to catch up on. No fair getting 2500 Eric!:earseek: Oh well, I can shoot for 3000.
The Raddison is the place to be! ::yes:: We have had a great experience there both previous trips. We will be leaving Panama City on Friday morning arriving at the Raddison around 2 PM.
Disney was fun. We spent Friday morning at The Animal Kingdom, then back to the hotel for a swim, then Epcot for dinner and fireworks. Sat. DD and I went back to Animal Kingdom to do the Tarzan Rocks show. Loved it! And the Primevil Wirl ride. Great!
Then we went to Down Town Disney so DD could shop. (Not my favorite pastime,) but she had a blast spending her Dad's money. LOL Then it was back to Epcot for the Paul Revere and The Radiers Concert! They were Great. So glad I didn't blow it off. And I was tempted, let me tell you.:p The show was very good and very funny.
Did not like All Star Music much. (Except the fact that they had a picture of Bruce Springsteen in the main building. ) Our room was SOOOO far from the dinning area and the bus stops. And the plumbing was loud. Each morning I was awakened around 7am by the sound of SCREECHING from the pipes. Someone close by taking a shower? Could also hear it when nieghbors flushed.
Oh well, we will know better next time.
Glad to be home.
Later, Avé

Welcome back, Ave.....sounds like you had a great time. Please tell me all about PR&R......were any of the originals there?

My daughters and I loved Primival Whirl also......we kept imagining all the expletives my husband would be spewing if he went on it! (The man detests spinning rides!)

jeanneg, Paul and several others were from the original group. Most of the guys have been together 30+ years. One of the newbies is the son of one of the Rightous Brothers. So they did a medly of Rightous Brother songs, "Unchained Melody, You've Lost that Lovin Feelin, etc." Paul kept making VERY funny jokes about how old he was, and how long it's been since he's had a "hit" record. They were all decked-out in the "outfits" boots, hats, vests, and tights! Very good stage show! We stayed for 2 sets. They did all thier top songs, finishing with Cherokee Nation on both sets. Louie, Louie was great. Too worned out to stay for the 3rd set. And wanted to get on the bus back to the hotel before the fireworks ended. And the Epcot Flower Power displays were fantastic. We saw Eric and the Animals the night before. They were OK, but nowhere near as fun as PR&R.
Gosh, I'm so tired.

Night everyone.

Welcome home Ave, glad you had fun!

I am also a transplanted New Yorker. Born and raised in Hicksville (yes, there really is such a place!) Long Island. I still have 2 brothers and 1 sister in New York and try to visit at least once a year. I miss all the ethnic foods NY has to offer. Pizza, Italian bakery stuff, kiniches, Greek food, Carvel ice cream, and of course the "dirty water dogs"!I have found some excellent bagels here in Charleston as well as some pretty good pizza, but NY is still the best!

We went to see a air show this weekend featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds! What a great show!DH loved the static displays, and the kids loved the snow cones! We had a great time but it was H...O...T!!!!Of course being on a flight line there is NO shade, and it was over 90º !

jeanneg...how exciting for your son! Best of luck to him on this project. We would love details if and when you are premitted to share them.

Eric..congrats on your new President!

Ave',
you've got good chances to get #3000, because Anja & I will be for 10 days at the Baltic Sea from June 4 til June 13 - without any Internet-access. We must somehow get rid of those vacation days :teeth: There's another holiday in that week and both of us accumulated some overtime, so we were able to get 10 days off, but have to use 4 vacation days for it only :p
Now the temps must get higher. Last night we only had 2°C/36°F over here:eek: But even if it gets warmer, we probably won't go into the water of the Baltic Sea as the water needs some extra weeks to lose its chill.

Ave',
we stayed at the ASMovies before Cruisetoberfest I and loved it. We requested and got Toy Story, the room was quiet, just 100 yards from the front desk, theshop, the food courts and the bus stops, and the pool with Sorcerer Mickey.

Do tell! Hopefully you liked them if you used them.....we bought 4 Q&C vouchers, 2 kingdom lunch and 2 breakfast vouchers for Sept....shoot, if you didn't like them, don't tell.....I am stuck with them regardless!

We got our PHP thru the hotwire savings club, too....saved us some $$ over other discount ticket companies.

We did not have any food vouchers. I did notice signs explaining what/or how many vouchers were needed for this or that. But didn't pay much attention cause I didn't have too. :p
First day back at work was rough. Lots of stuff that waited for me from last week, plus the normal Monday madness. But I got it all done somehow.
Well my doc won First Place in Bays Best! Voted on by local newpaper readers. We knew she was in the top three, but we were happy campers today. I told her it was because of her excellent nursing staff (I am the whole staff) LOL.
Eric, just the words Baltic Sea make me shiver.

We got home about midnight last night from Texas. Long auto ride for us old people about a 900 mile trip one way.

Have about 15 pages to catch up on. Found out that there were two Germans that died in the Alamo along with 30 Tennesseans including Davy Crockett.

This may be our last Disney cruise for a while as Kathy and I are thinking about selling our house to get us a small RV and touring the country for awhile. Still in the talking stages. Mike

Ave',
the beach we're headed to is wonderful, pearl-white sands, a promenade made from marble right behind it with lots of eateries, souvenirshops, etc. On the beach we have so-called Beach Baskets, which are about 6 feet wide and 6 feet high granting you two wonderful reclining seats with footrests, fold-down-tables and a shade. They offer protection from the wind and from the sun. It's very comfy and cosy in there, but they cost about €8 per day. In the center area they are placed kind of close together with only about 5 feet between the baskets laterally and perhaps 20 feet in front of you. We're usually at the Yacht Harbour where they are spaced much more generously adjacent to the beachvolleyball courts. The water is much colder than in Florida, so we'll probably do only some wading.

Mike & Kathy,
that RV-plan sounds nice. I always say to Anja, that if we win the jackpot in the lottery, we will tour Europe for a year in a small RV, and The States for a year in a huge one.
Sorry about my countrymen not being able to bring a happy ending to the Alamo ;)
