Been away from here for a while -- due to stomach flu (UGH). I have a new computer at home that I still haven't got set up & I haven't been near the one at work since last Wednesday. I used to have just an internet appliance at home (email & net only) but I finally broke down and bought a REAL computer. Took forever to put the desk together (that kind of stuff is not really Sam's thing). Then we had to move furniture around in one of our 3 "spare bedrooms" to find room for the desk. Had a hectic weekend shopping, cleaning, babysitting. Maybe I can get the computer on the desk tonight and try to figure out how to get it going. I will be home all next week so I won't be able to get into a computer if I don't get the new one working.

Belated happy birthdays to Fiona, Mary and Ave'!

Couldn't believe that they actually caught Saddam -- wonderful.

Re Survivor: I am OK with Sandra winning. Lill was never a particular favorite of mine altho she was sure interesting to watch. I had to admire her for picking Sandra instead of Jon to go to the final two. She would have won if she had picked Jon, and it is hard to believe that she would take the chance that she might lose by going up against Sandra. The fact that she did not make an easy game-winning decision (by picking Jon) really entitled her to win, in my mind. Did that sentence make any sense? Sandra was so obnoxious in the beginning that I could not stand her but she became more likeable toward the end. Thank goodness that it was not Jon! He was absolutely horrible on the reunion, too. I guess that is just the real Jon. One creepy guy!

Thanks Eric for posting. I saw it and immediately turned on CNN and watched the official announcement. Was up at around 6:15am or so since DS had to be at the amouries for 8am. His course is basically every other weekend and it starts at 8am both days. :( He's ok with it though as he figures he'll get paid about $1200 for the eight weekends.

Was ok with Sandra winning although after Lil won the last challenge I thought she deserved it. Was surprised she didn't take Jon to the final 2 but was relieved that Jon didn't get to go to the final 2. Does that make sense??? Boy was he obnoxious and he's no better in real life apparently.

Frustrating day at work -- banks are so difficult to work with sometimes.

Christmas is 10 days away! Help!!!

Fiona

yes i was happpy that jon did not get in the final 2
wanted the girl that got voted out 4th to win but im happy with the out come

Despite the show of hands on Sunday night, I don't believe Lil would have won. The fact that she was an outcast and not there for the entire duration would not have sat well with the rest of the jury. If Jon had made it to the final 2, he would have "deserved" to win. True, he was a lying, conniving little weasel and I would hate to see him win, but the fact remains, if he got that far, he deserved the vote and probably would have gotten it. Of the final 4, I would have liked Darrah to win, but Sandra was also deserving. I believe she knew full well what she was doing at the tribal counsel when Ruppert was eliminated, but she was smart enough to do it in a manner that could be explained in a satisfactory way. After the whole Christa and the fish incident, we saw that Sandra was a very capable liar. The facts remain, she played the game well and therefore deserves to win, although she was definitely not the most likable or honorable person.
I've watched all seven Survivors and in MY opinion, the only winner that was totally deserving AND ETHICAL was Ethan. OK, so much for shooting my mouth off........
Can't wait for the all-star version!

 Hi guys and gals ... feeling the Christmas Stress and then My DSIL sent me this .................. aah the daydream of it all!

:wave2: MaruLou.

It's a balmy 73 degrees with snow flurries continuing to fall throughout the day," announced the ship's cruise director as the "Disney Magic" docked at Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. Just in time for the holiday season, Disney Cruise Line guests are finding themselves literally "walking in a winter wonderland" - or rather a Magical Wonderland - a new themed decor package that has transformed Disney's sandy private island into a "snowy" holiday hideaway. In addition to "snow" flurries, guests enjoy seeing Christmas trees, Mr. and Mrs. Snowman (with shell noses and tropical shirts), carolers and a sleigh full of presents in the middle of the Bahamas. Disney characters, dressed in holiday island styles, sign autographs and pose for photos to the beat of holiday tunes. Even the island's tram that transports guests across the 1,000-acre island has been decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and tail. At the beach, families learn the art of sand sculpting. Guests may even catch a glimpse of Goofy on a jet ski as he tries his hand at water sports in the lagoon. Scuttle's Cove, the children's programming area at Castaway Cay, hosts holiday-themed children's activities all day long. Children, ages 3-7, make candy cane reindeer and paper plate angels while kids, ages 8-12, create snowflake-mobiles and clothespin reindeer. Whether lounging on a sun-drenched beach, participating in a variety of water sports or indulging in the ultimate island barbecue, Castaway Cay offers an authentic tropical experience - now with a touch of the holidays - that every member of the family can enjoy. Onboard, Disney's Magical Holidays celebration continues: - A nearly three-deck-tall tree-lighting ceremony in the atrium lobby, where "snow" magically falls - A Christmas Day visit from Santa Goofy, with surprises for all the kids - Special family time, when families join together to design and decorate their own gingerbread houses - Disney Cruise Line's own rendition of "T'was the Night Before Christmas" with a reading by Mrs. Claus and caroling by the main stage performers - Traditional holiday feasts in Disney's three themed dining rooms - Multiple faith and inter-denominational holiday services.

After reading that if you aren't cruise-dreaming, you'd better check you temperature!

Jen & Peter ... You are the absolute best Aunt and Uncle to those kids and I wish you a safe, happy and memorable trip.

Jen & Peter,
have fun and enjoy it!!!

Our forecasts predict a 70% probability of snow on Xmas Eve :Pinkbounc

Ok,
commercial break is over - Gotta head back to the telly, one of my favourites is on, a baseball-flick: The Cleveland Indians, starring Tom Berenger, Wesley Snipes, Renee Russo, Charlie Sheen, etc.

See Y'all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY-JO !!!!!!!

See you in a couple of days...safe trip :sunny:

Hugs,

Kim & Bette

Another December baby -- yeah!! Happy Birthday Mary Jo!!

So wish we could see you on the 19th but darn work interferes with life once again.

Could definitely go on a cruise right now. We have a bit of snow on the ground but at the moment it's raining so I don't know how long it's going to last. It gets dark so early it's depressing.

Had a cookie exchange at work today so have nine dozen cookies to eat! Took them to my car at lunch time so that I wouldn't start eating them.

Friday is munchie day here -- everybody brings in something and we get to eat most of the day. Unfortunately I'll be busy and here late so that means I'll eat less which might not be a bad thing.

Two deals just got moved to the 23rd so am not going to be taking that day off. I'm hoping not to come in on the 24th but we'll see. Since the firms end of year is Dec 31st it also means that all accounts have to be in by the end of the year too. Makes it a busy time.

Must get back to work (or better yet cruise dreaming).

Take care everyone.

Fiona
