Our docs are in Germany:Pinkbounc
Unfortunately they're still in Cologne:sad2: which is about 120 miles northwest of Frankfurt. DCL shipped them 9/3 fully aware that we need them not later than 9/10:mad:
Nevertheless I had a very friendly CM on the phone, who provided me with a UPS tracking number.
After seeing on the web that the package's latest status was 'Departing Philadelphia' I called UPS Dispatch where I was told that it had just arrived in Cologne, their German hub. Delivery to our house will be between 0800 and 1030am tomorrow. If we're not at home they'll give it another try on Saturday -We will be at the airport on Saturday :scared1:
The dispatcher told me to call again tomorrow morning to have the package diverted to my company. I'll try that, but additionally I called my teamleader at home and he permitted me to come later, if necessary.
I'm near developing an ulcer :faint:

OK, I let off enough steam - Gotta work on The List now::yes::

JeanneC & JeanneG,
you'd better hope that there's not another hurricane coming as the next one's name will be: JEANNE :teeth:
If that one is going to interfere with our cruise, you may be held responsible:jester:

I hope you're joking....but I have a feeling you're not! I just pray my namesake hurricane/storm does not take after me since I have a tendency to cause havoc wherever I go!
We also have tornado watches here in Raleigh until 7 p.m. this evening, but right now the weather couldn't be nicer. We've had a bit of rain lately, but not what you would call a storm. If we're lucky, it will rain tomorrow evening at 5pm and I can get out of my golf game since we all know how much I love (NOT!) golf!

Safe journies to all those who are traveling

Jeanniec: hope you hear from your FL family soon

MaryJo: so sorry about Sam.....I hope his pension is protected. I get so angry when I hear things like that because you know the CEOs never lose any of their assets. It's always the faithful worker that gets the shaft and that just stinks! I applaud your wonderfully positive attitude....you guys really do need a cruise and the good news is that it's only weeks away!

Eric: getting the docs should be the least of your worries.......if you don't receive them in Germany, call DCL when you arrive in the states and insist they overnight a duplicate set to the address where you will be staying. The way I see it, your major problem right now is getting the weather to cooperate and having contingency plans in place just in case it doesn't. You'll see....everything is going to work out.....don't worry too much....it ages you to the point you'll reverse all your hard work at exercising!

Sparrow_of_Tortuga -

I am making magnets for everyone in our "little group" to put on our stateroom doors. If you want them, please PM me your name and address so I can send them to you.

Thanks,

Reneé

BTW - it looks like everyone on "The List" is going to have the magnets on their doors except for a couple of people that didn't respond to me. It should be very easy to find everyone now.

One more thing - DON'T FORGET TO PACK YOUR MAGNETS!!!::yes::

Reneé,

Thanks for the reminder! I was just thinking that the other day, they are on my back door with the PC cruise ones. I may have to pack them early just so I don't forget :teeth:

Check your mailboxes-
There are two mails from me
-#1 brings the Ultimate edition of The List
-#2 brings the Handy List, a 'portable' version of reduced content for use on board. It comes as a PDF and as a Word.doc - Take your pick.

You did a great job maintaining those lists.........thanks ever so much for all your hard work and dedication........it is very much appreciated!

OK...I printed out the logo's for the shirts...And when I tried to transfer them on...it was backwards...Can you tell me the right way to do this....I have a HP PhotoSmart 1000 printer

Thanks
:bounce:

You need to go into properties and switch to mirror mode. That way your print out will look backwards ( like looking in a mirror) then when it is ironed on it will be correct.

Jill, LOVED the Mickey Hurricane picture!!!

I have to go shopping on e-bay tonight. Have to find DD a dress for formal night. Also trying to arrange a day off. So much to do and not enough time. :p But somehow we'll make it!:teeth:
Eric, Thanks for the updated list. Great job!
Reneé, I would NEVER forget my magnets! They are the only way I am able to find my cabin at times.
Hoping Ivan stays on it's western course. FL needs a break.
Has anyone heard anything about the condition of CC? I keep reading the boards, but there doesn't seem to be anything other then rumors.

Got to run, e-bay awaits!!!!!!!!!!
Avé

Thanks Eric for the great lists! Fabulous job:earseek:

Thanks Jill for the hurricane mickey - awesome! dh didn't get it:rolleyes:

Still no docs:( beginning to pack anyway and I will not forget the magnets.

Closer to departure I'll figure out a contingency plan for our Jetty Park picnic. Let's hope & pray we won't need one:)

This sucks even more than Frances:

From our National News site cbc.ca

Ivan devastates Grenada, claims 9 lives

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA - The most powerful hurricane to hit the Caribbean in 14 years is churning toward Jamaica after leaving nine people dead and "incalculable damage" in Grenada.

Hurricane Ivan struck Grenada with "hellacious" winds overnight Tuesday, reducing concrete homes to rubble and knocking out electricity and water to thousands of people. The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency said Grenada's capital, St. George's, suffered "incalculable damage." The country's airport was damaged and St. George's main hospital and emergency disaster office were destroyed.

The Category 4 storm scored a direct hit on the country, hurling the island's traditional red zinc roofs through the air, uprooting trees, and knocking the country's broadcaster off the air.

There were also unconfirmed reports that the storm had damaged the country's prison, allowing inmates to escape.

There's more but this is just the Good News.

Jim.

YES this maybe Some Good News...

Oh Yea First Not that im Gealous or anything But Eric was your Cruise not Free ????

LOL

and U made them pay the high Cost of Shipping to Germany
LOL

But Back To the Other News

Don't know if this helps or not, but DCL rep told me today that the "official" damage report is moderate damage and they expect it to be repaired in the next week or so. Mmmm, don't know if that means it'll be done for 9/19 and of course she didn't have any answers. She may be a bit optimistic, but just maybe....

Got off another thread..

Peter

From my younger days it was "rain rain go away, come again as snow some day"......Although I still like snow, just not in big doses any more.

Glad to hear all our DIS friends in Flordia survived the ravages of Hurricane Frances.

Cathy, we were not lost, but we did spend an extended Labor Day weekend camping on the Jersey Shore. We were not exactly roughing it in our travel trailer so we did keep track of Frances on the cable TV available at the campground.

Unlike last year where we were among the last to receive our DOCS, we received them last Thursday for this years cruise.

Nancy, glad to see you back on the boards and feeling better.

Eric & Anja have safe and smooth trip to the states. Ivan won't dare interfere with an offical Mouseketter's trip. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Tulirose, good to see you on our thread. Have a GREAT WDW trip. Wish you were cruise with the Octoberfest Crew again.

Dave & Ellen

I placed my ad for my yard sale today. The sale is this weekend and I have a TON of stuff!10 BIG boxs of stuff sorted and priced so far with lots more in the actic PLUS all the stuff we have been storing in the garage (living room set, book shelves, china cab. ect). I'm thinking if I only sell 1/4 of the stuff, I'll make about $300-500. It would be nice to make enough to pay for our Antiqua excurtion.

I saw a thread on the main board asking who has gotten their doc for Oct. I noticed several 10/2 cruisers who might be lurking!!

Peter, I hope you are correct and we get a visit to CC, but I am going on the asumption we will not, and if we do, it will be a nice surprise:hyper:

Jim, terrible news about the death toll from Ivan!It reminds me of hurricane "Mitch" that hit a few years ago and killed hundreds! It is a big, and powerful storm. Let's hope it weakens soon!

I bought a Tux shirt for DS on E-Bay but it was too small!!!Anyone need a size 7 boys tux shirt? Anyone have a size 8-10 boys white shirt I can borrow??

Ave, how did the E-Bay shopping go?

Cat 5 is nice on a Disney ship but not For a Hurricane
such as Ivane is now ..

Hi Fiona! I'll give your best to Snowwark when I see her. She jokes how she is going to wear her formal wear to Mama Melrose since she missed out on wearing it for the cruise! LOL!

Hi Sarah'sMom - Sorry to hear about Sam and your cancelled repo cruise. Would love to get together with you guys and Cathy and Art one day when we go out to PA (Lake Ariel area).

Hi Eric! We will be arriving in Florida on the 11th also. Let me email you my cell phone number just in case your plans don't take you too far out of the area. Which email address do I use again?

Hi Mary! How far off the interstate are you? Maybe we will swing by your yard sale on our way down to Florida this weekend! LOL!

Hi Cheese! Did I tell you guys that OUR docs arrived today!!! HAPPY DANCE!!!!

I'm just burnin', doin the document dance (okay, so the Pointer Sisters don't come across on the web) But you get the hint.

Got a call from my TA today, she just returned to the office and there were my docs. She'll fed ex them to my office once she reviews them for accuracy. So I should have them in my hot little hands by Friday.

Renee: Can I impose on you to send me another set of magnets, I have misplaced them in the move, after carefully putting them where I would find them

Let me know the cost and I'll reimburse you. Check your pm for our new address.

Jill - loved the e-mail.

Eric - terrific job on the lists, thanks again!!

I tried to post earlier, but it got lost when I hit the post button.

MaryJo-- Hope Sam is feeling better. Sorry you had to cancel your repositioning cruise, but understand why you had to do it.

To Both MaryJo and Bette--- Thanks so much for your phone calls while I was recovering.

Dave-- (Cheeseplease) I thought it was Rain rain go away come again another day. I would never ask for snow to come as I hate snow and winter. Aren't you and Ellen now Empty Nesters.

Mary--- Good luck with the yard sale. I had one and it was to much work, so now I just give the stuff away to Good Will or put out for Big Trash Pickup.

Ave-- After working all those extra hours you will need the cruise to rest.

Hi Rosemary--- Enjoy your trip to WDW. Where are you staying at this trip? Are you ready for Survivor to start?

Peter--- I rolled up change while I was off only got $125 but I didn't do all the pennies. Like that would add alot.

You do have to feel so bad for all those people in the Caribbean. Their homes are so poorly constructed that the big bad wolf could blow them down let alone a hurricane. I am bringing my Caribbean Port of Call book with me since we could end up somewhere different.

I didn't do my shirts yet, but did buy them. Since my computer crashed my son put a new program for pictures that I am still trying to figure out. I have to wait to do the shirts after my Ice hockey coaching clinics are completed. I have sessions set up for 9/11 and 9/18. I have been spending the last week trying to get them organized since I was to sick to do it before. This is my final year with hockey. I tried to get out of finishing my term as 4th VP of the high school league, but they begged me to stay. But once May comes I am finished.

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Our documents came today. Of course I will do nothing with them until we are sitting in the hotel room on Friday night before our cruise. I just put it with all my other cruise stuff.
