$10,000 for 9 nights!!

Holy Smokes! DH said maybe we should go again at Easter this year. So I just looked online to price it out- At BCVillas- one bedroom $10,000!!!
We are a family of 6 so I think we need a villa this year to go back(DH won't do Allstars he is a deluxe snob) BUT HELLO! $10,000 not including tickets or airfair. Nope not happening. I suppose I could keep my fingers crossed for some code. but it would have to be one hell of a code for that to even be doable.

Are you adverse to Fort Wilderness Cabins? they sleep six. Or, two rooms at CB, or POR?

You could go to the DVC board and try renting points. It would be WAY cheaper. A 2 BR villa at BCV is about $2600 - $3600 depending on the time period a week a 1 BR is $2000 - $3000 but with 6 you have to have a 2 BR.

Don['t go at Easter - it's peak season! Travel July 20 or after (they keep making value season later and later at the deluxes) and go for either Wilderness Lodge or AK (deluxe - sleeps 4). Two rooms there should be much cheaper than the BC Villa. Plus I was told that even with a family of 5 we would need a 2 bedrooms villa.

We're really biting the bullet and taking the whole family in July (Between kids, daugher and son-in law and granchildren there will be 15!). Definitely need to go in value season or swallow hard and go moderate (CBR has always been on my radar).

So go after July 20 and maybe we'll finally meet up - we sure won't be hard ot miss!

I know its nice to stay onsight - but - did you ever consider renting a house? We've done that twice when we went with family and it was really some of our best trips. We stay in Windsor Palms, fabulous place. Very resort like with your own pool, a community pool, they have a movie theatre, all kinds of things there, basketball courts, etc., etc. We really had wonderful experience doing that, and its only 5 minutes from Disneyworld. The homes are just beautiful also. I'm very picky. It was very inexpensive also. I bet if you look now you can really find a nice place for Easter.

If you have your heart set on staying onsite, I would definitely recommend renting points from a DVC owner - and maybe consider one of the cheaper DVC resorts, such as OKW or Saratoga.

I put in the ages of the kids and they quoted me a one bedroom with the pullout sofa Can you imagine how much a 2 bedroom is?! Really maybe we should think outside the parks- but I am such an early riser to get those EMH perks. I don't know how DH would do in the Cabins- they look fine to me- but Mr. Deluxe. I love his champagne taste- but budget spending! lol.

I am thinking maybe do a 3 day at the BCV and then head offsite- you know get the EMH perks for 4 days then maybe head to Seaworld? Or I could always make offsite seem great with a trip to Discovery cove.
Shoot that extra child threw us into this whole room fiasco- good thing we love him (oh and my youngest will be 3 when we go again)

I guess it was sticker shock and the thought of "we could head to a swanky hotel for that price" I just can't justify $1000 a night. I love Disney but not that much.

Disneymomx7 here we go again. (And we are tied to either July 4th, Christmas or Easter break with DH's work schedule) So where are you staying this year?

I am going into super sleuth mode. I will make this happen somehow. Thanks for all the tips and advice - I am going to check out SSR. Keep the ideas coming.

You beat me to this. The OP will need a TWO bedroom villa and that price is going to go up a bunch more!! Even if you have two under the age of three, you are only allowed ONE under the age of three which makes you 5 plus one. Too many for a one bedroom.

I'd forget about renting a reservation at Easter because there is a good chance they might be booked up already. But all it takes is a post on the Rent/Trade Board to find out.

A two bedroom for the week (7 nights) will require from 405 to 462 points. Figure at least $12-15 a point for this reservation. So you are still looking at anywhere from $5K to $7K for the reservation using DVC points.

Why would the disney website offer that as an option? They had all the ages of my kids and that is what popped up? $5000 is a lot better than $10,000! I really should check out points.

If you want the on site perks of EMH etc. you could book the cheapest campsite at Fort Wilderness but stay at an off-site condo or house. The combined cost of the condo and the camp site would be a fraction of staying at a deluxe on-site resort.

Good luck with your super-sleuthing! Now you see why we bought into DVC - I don't have to pay for my lodgings, just reserve in advance and save my airfare and ticket money.

we have booked 2 trips during "kids free" on Seaworld.com. We choose REsidence Inn and get a 1 BR with 2Q and pull-out sofa with full buffet breakfast and length of stay Seaworld tickets (family of 5, 3 nights for $500 TOTAL). Hotel is very nice, pool area very nice, right by Seaworld.

IF you do that part at the front end of your trip, your tickets are good for 12 days, so even after you check-out.
I don't know if they still have space for Easter. We are doing this same package again this Christmas for $520 (we booked it in June)!

You've been told this already, but just wanted to jump in...try to rent from a DVC member. You could save a lot of money that way! Woo hooo....more money to buy things with!

We are taking the whole clan so we're going back and forth. We keep debating - Poly, WL or CBR. Poly of course would be 1st choice but we're up in the $20,000 range so WL and CBR are looking pretty good.

I think two connecting standard rooms at WL or AKL would be a lot cheaper than the $10,000 you're being quoted. Would your DH consider two rooms at CSR - since they are a convention resort they have room service and a fitness center.

I'm so spoiled - as much as I love the feel at CBR I know I would definitely miss the balcony. Of course after the rest of them leave, we (me, DH, 2 dds and ds) are going to hit either the Poly or GF for 5-7 days to relax from the trip!

(it was so darn cheap I couldn't resist- I mean like under $100 cheap) Well he hated it from the moment we got there. Rude cm's at check in(rude in the speaking spanish and not realizing that I spoke it too way they were bad mouthing people all around- rude rude rude) Then the moment that led to the NEVER AGAIN from dh. He had to carry our bags up a flight of stairs. No bellhop was available(I do believe they have them there just wasn't anybody around) So there you have it my dainty boy hubby won't stay there because he had to carry his luggage- well actually it was my luggage that was heavy but still.

Sounds like your husband needs an attitude adjustment!! And to think my husband would be happy staying at AS Sports because he is a fun loving guy all around and would stay in a cardboard box if it meant he was able to go to disney. Sounds like your hubby is high maintenance and spoiled at that. It there were no bellhops around then my luggage would get carried up the stairs by us- no ifs and buts about it. Sorry to say but people speaking in their native language happens alot more than you think.

If it makes you feel any better, Donald Trumps hotel in NYC has some rooms at 10,000 grand a night. (I wonder if the Trumpster has a dining program? )

We are planning a trip for the middle of June. If an AP discount comes out for BCV, would it still be cheaper renting points from a DVC member?

We stayed in a one bedroom DVC villa in August for $305 a night using a discount code.

How easy is it to rent from a DVC member?

My husband is far from being cheap if that is what you are implying. We have paid for service before are came away from our vacation with no worries. But sometimes things happen and they may be no help available so what does that mean? It means you do it yourself and get on with your life instead of complaining about. We have carried our luggage up the stairs at CSR before- no biggy.
