$10,000 for 9 nights!!

Holy Smokes! DH said maybe we should go again at Easter this year. So I just looked online to price it out- At BCVillas- one bedroom $10,000!!!:scared1:
We are a family of 6 so I think we need a villa this year to go back(DH won't do Allstars he is a deluxe snob) BUT HELLO! $10,000 not including tickets or airfair. Nope not happening. I suppose I could keep my fingers crossed for some code. but it would have to be one hell of a code for that to even be doable.

Unless you REALLY need the cooking and laundry facilities (keep in mind that all deluxe and moderate rooms have refrigerators & coffee makers AND all of the resorts have laundry rooms, moderates near the pools) -- I'd get 2 rooms connecting AND I'd try to go at a time NOT EASTER. Our very first trip to WDW was during Easter & it's a wonder that I fell in love with the place given the crowds and the craziness. Try pricing Value Season and 2 rooms... You might be very pleasantly surprised.

I have a DH resort story too. We were going to try POR in 2004. It was a really, really good AP rate. We cheched in early in the AM (we had been at Hard Rock for a few days first) went to EMH at MK. We had a double and single umbrella stroller at that time. No seats on the bus. We got off the bus, DH looked at the boat coming over from the GF and the next thing I knew he went over at had our reservations switched from POR to GF for the next 8 days! I never even unpacked at POR. According to DH he felt it was "too dark" but I think it was the bus that did him in.

Of course now that we're paying for 15 people DH is considering rethinking the bus issue as long as we can stay at CBR (more bright and airy according to DH). So don't feel bad - they all have their little quirks. Hey it's kept me going to deluxes for many years now!

Add abt $6K to what you are "willing" to spend and purchase DVC points!! You will always have deluxe accomodations...there are usually some good resale DVC contracts out there as well for abt $10K.

Or choose another time of year to vacation:) Good Luck!

I was extremely happy when my DH decided that he didn't like disney hotels without interior corridors. Who am I to argue? I "forced" him to stay at Pop earlier this year since it was the only way I'd get 2 trips in this year but even that was too much for him. He said he'd work overtime so we could go deluxe for any times we decided on 2 trips in a year lol.

Check out the deluxe rooms at the Boardwalk Inn. They sleep six and come with concierge level services including food several times a day. That might be a good answer for you. It's $725 per night plus tax during Easter Week, but at least you get a daily breakfast, snacks, drinks, canapes and wine, and dessert and cordials, and itinerary planning assistance. Just a thought.

Another thought -- deluxe Club Level at Wilderness Lodge. The rooms are a kind of Junior Suite, I believe. Someone else would have to tell you whether you can sleep six in them.

There are Junior Suites in the Garden Wings at the Contemporary as well. Again, I don't know how many they sleep.

Also, check out the Swan and Dolphin. You can have five in a room, not sure about 6. The rooms aren't very large. But, their rates are often much better than Disney's -- so much better, you could probably get two connecting rooms and still be better off than with Disney. They are deluxe Starwood properties and very, very nice -- with wonderful boat access to Epcot and MGM Studios. They also come with Extra Magic Hour privileges (but not Disney Dining Plan privileges.)

Finally -- you could check out one of the Loew's Hotels at Universal. They are very nice -- we really enjoyed the Royal Pacific, which is their value resort, but compares favorably with most WDW Deluxes. We stayed Club Level there in two rooms and thoroughly enjoyed it. You would have to drive to WDW, but it's not a bad drive (unless there is heavy traffic in which case I won't kid you, it can be difficult).

As others have said, one of your real problems is the time of year you are trying to go. And, given that it is likely to be quite crowded in the parks, I might re-think that if possible.

Best of luck.

2 garden view rooms at the Poly are just a little over $8,000.00. If you did that, everybody could have their own bed. 2 standard rooms at the WL would only be about $5,600.00. $4,400.00 will buy a whole lot of meals.

Smart woman!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Another option is the Nick Hotel (at least for a few nights). My kids loved it, DH not so much. They had a ton of things for the kids to do though, including slime games. I know the room definitely had sleeping for 6.

I forgot at the WL junior suite - that sleeps six also.

Can't wait to see what you decide. I think 4th of July is regular season compared to the peak season at Easter, that might help a little.

Sounds like your husband needs an attitude adjustment!! And to think my husband would be happy staying at AS Sports because he is a fun loving guy all around and would stay in a cardboard box if it meant he was able to go to disney. Sounds like your hubby is high maintenance and spoiled at that. It there were no bellhops around then my luggage would get carried up the stairs by us- no ifs and buts about it. Sorry to say but people speaking in their native language happens alot more than you think.

Whoa! He didn't complain one stitch on vacation. Just the next time we were going he said never again to the CSR. He works very hard and has limited vacation time- so he likes it to be great. And he doesn't want to carry his luggage:rotfl2: Funny thing though for our summer beach trips at the house we rent he carries the bags? :confused3
He is an easy going guy and I couldn't ask for a better DH. So I'll stick with him. Plus I get some nice vacations out of it.
On the native language, DH IS Hispanic! So I speak it but don't look like I would. When I heard cm's saying "look at the fat white girl" Yes I spoke up that they should watch what they say in not knowing who could understand them. Don't assume.

My husband is far from being cheap if that is what you are implying. We have paid for service before are came away from our vacation with no worries. But sometimes things happen and they may be no help available so what does that mean? It means you do it yourself and get on with your life instead of complaining about. We have carried our luggage up the stairs at CSR before- no biggy.

I'm not implying that your husband is cheap, really I stay at POP and would rather carry my own bags. I guess I'm cheap.
Have a good day!

It seems you got the price of a package. I played on Disney's site and a family of 6 for 9 nights(using 2 adults and 4 children ages 14, 13, 12, and 11) at the Saratoga Springs 2 bedroom Villa plus 10 day parkhoppers cost $10,055.

I looked up some Room Only Options for a family of 6 and found.

Saratoga Springs or Old Key West - 2 Bedroom Villa $7747

Wilderness Lodge Deluxe Room - Club Level for $6835
(the Deluxe room sleeps 6. It says 2 queen size beds and a queen size sofa sleeper. I'm pretty sure club level means concierge which would give you access to the Old Faithful Club and the itinerary planing office.)

Fort Wilderness - Wilderness Cabin $3595
(Im not sure this would be to your hubbys liking but check out some pictures. http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/fwss.htm )

Then there is always the option of 2 rooms at a deluxe

Animal Kingdom Lodge - 2 standard rooms $7292
Wilderness Lodge - 2 woods view rooms $7900

And then there is always the chance of discounts. I think you can get AAA discounts now.

Why would the disney website offer that as an option? They had all the ages of my kids and that is what popped up? $5000 is a lot better than $10,000! I really should check out points.
I'm not sure why the Disney website would offer that as an option. DVC 1-bedroom villas have a king-size bed in the bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living room. Probably do-able if your four kids sleep in the bed, and you and your husband sleep on the pullout. But for $10,000, I'm thinking that's not an option. :rotfl:

Don't stay off site at peak times. You'll need the morning EMH's to be able to do anything.

Ok I tried again- losing the Saturday before Easter- Coming in on Easter and the price dropped- So I am thinking that the week before Easter is more expensive? Thanks for the advice about SSR and OKWvillas- both are in the $5000 range for a 2 bedroom! MUCH MUCH BETTER! Even the 2 bedroom at the Boardwalk is $6500.
So I think the trick is to just play with dates. The beach club villas aren't even available anymore! SO who took my $10,000 villa!!:rotfl2: It may just happen yet.

Now I have to go check out the villas. To see what SSR is like.

Gee - you could BUY 150 dvc points for that much money!

Why can't you get two rooms at a Moderate, Animal Kingdom or Wilderness Lodge? I prefer a deluxe, but if I want to go bad enough, I do what I can afford.

you could also rent 2 studios through DVC rent/trade board
maria
But studios do not connect and the parents will have to split up for the entire stay. One parent and two kids in each studio. Not my idea of a vacation.
