Hi and welcome! Not sure I can be of much help....but I'll try. Here is a link to a list of Disney restaurants and their menus. That way, if someone gives you ideas, you can check out the menu. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.cfm

Since you have about half of your party being kids, would you want to look into character dining like maybe 1900 Park Fare? I think I've heard of brides going there...maybe Janine went and I think maybe SAJetto booked it for herself. I am not sure if that was the "reception" or jut another meal.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Thanks so much for posting the air info for the Travel channel special.

I've been hoping there would be a Disney wedding one on soon.

We had 18 guests and 2 toddlers. We used Ariel's and it was perfectly kid-friendly. I'm just not sure how you would book it as an intimate - but I'm sure lots of types of events are held there. The space in there is naturally divided into 3 areas - so you can even have a fun kids area. The AAR VIP room (it's a lovely private area upstairs in the AAR) might be a great place to try.

I don't think you will be bored with a private room. But there are lots of options if you'd rather be in a restaurant.

We are a group of 18, 7 of which are under 9. We have booked 1900 Park Fare for after our intimate. I can’t justify the cost of spending $1700 for two characters when you can enjoy a meal at 1900 Park Fare and see them all for half that price!
I think mommy poppins did the same after they renewed their vows.

We will have a more 'civilised' meal with just the two of us at somewhere like Citricos after the wedding night.

Just wondering but have you actually checked that you can wear your dress to the Animal Kingdom??

As far as i understood, Intimate Brides were not allowed to wear their dress in a park (with the exception of Dessert parties)

Jiko is in Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort, not the theme park.

Vodlady -- Just be careful and make sure you're within the intimate guidelines. I am not going the intimate route so I'm not sure about everything but I just want to warn you. Janine, I think it was, had planned some events and then they were cancelled on her because she was an intimate! She ended up changing her plans, but it was upsetting for her to go through! Maybe I can find one of her posts so you could understand it more.

Edited to add: Here's a link in case you are interested. It's just that I don't understand the difference with what she was doing, and what she was allowed to do. So, here is Janine's story if you want to read it. Just trying to help. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=983311

Also, thank you SO much for the link to the other bride's experience regarding the Marina. Hope she was able to salvage her wedding??
Yes, I think she had her reception at the American Adventure VIP room. She has a trip report on here too.
