1 year anniversary, 8 days and too much food......June 2011...11/14 Last Day!

Yay for an update! I was just thinking about you guys when I logged on the other day. You've helped me decide that Deluxe dining is way too much food, and I will never do it! :rotfl: Did you and DH feel that having so many sit down meals took too much park and relaxation time away from you?

haha....yeah it really it. but its good if you want to eat at a lot of signature restaurants. Which is why we did it this trip. We mainly only had breakfast and dinner sit down meals...so no I really didn't feel that. it was a nice start to the morning and a relaxing finish. We were big fans of early morning breakfast and late night dinners (8:30 or later) that way we have plenty of time for fun! I hope that helps.

lovely update! :goodvibes

Chefs de France is high up on my 'must try' list on a future trip... do they pipe the music for Illuminations into the restaurant? :wizard:

That time on your Peter Pan fast passes was amazing!! I'd love to stay in the parks that late.. although we never seem to make it past 10.30/11pm when we're in the USA:cutie: hehe

Thanks hun!

Yes they do! It was definitely a nice way to see the show without crowds. We did have some trees in the way but I enjoyed it.

haha...yeah I am surprised we stayed up that late! but we made it and it was worth the lack of sleep.

Day 7 Part 1

So this day was our last day at MK :( So we were up early to take advantage! We were at the bus stop just after 9am.
IMG_0928.jpg

Some of you that read our Honeymoon TR might remember DH's Stitch around the world?

IMG_3600.jpg

Well....Stitch stayed home...he was so tired from his adventures around the world he decided to take a year off.....

However....for Valentine's Day I got DH a new special friend.
IMG_0929.jpg

Oswald!

So this post is now going to be dubbed "Oswald takes back Magic Kingdom"

I expected Magic Kingdom to be really crazy because it was a saturday....but the buses for MK took a while to show up...not sure why.

Soon enough we were at my favorite place!
DSC_0675.jpg

No morning show today...DH was def not arriving super early this morning.

We headed down Main street and look who we found!
IMG_0930.jpg

We are always in such a rush when we are in MK but I really love all the Main Street characters. I also really want to ride the Trolley

So we are totally predictable....we headed straight for Space Mountain.

The line wasn't very long so we decided to wait on it (unheard of!)

IMG_0932.jpg

They are both all set!

DH spent this whole ride freaking out that he was going to drop Oswald....so it was my job from then on to hold him.

We stayed in Tomorrowland and made it to our "must do" Astro Orbiter!
The line took forever. I love this ride and we always go on it....but I hate how long it takes.

IMG_0934.jpg

While waiting I did find a cast member who was obsessed with the Orange Bird...so I got some trading done with him!

finally it was time to ride!
IMG_0937.jpg

Then we did something even stranger....
IMG_0942.jpg

we went on stitch

DH told me we def didn't have to go on this trip...guess he lied. He also told a child and mother that it wasn't scary and they freaked out the whole time. :rolleyes1

IMG_0944.jpg

By then it was around 11....and I really wanted to meet a certain princess. (i'm sure DH was thrilled!) but the line wasn't too long and she was due out any min so we got on line to meet Tiana!

DSC_0677.jpg

DSC_0680.jpg

me and Oswald are waiting...

after this photo I took Oswald and put him in my backpack so DH could take photos.

So i just happened to be wearing my new Princess in the Frog shirt...which got them both very excited. I also had a dragonfly clip in.
DSC_0683.jpg

it was probably one of the best meets i've had. They spent a long time talking to me and trying to get to know me. and at one point I turned around and Prince Naveen was like "Tiana! She has Oswald with her!!!" Which made them freak out and beg me where I bought him....unfortunately he was only on sale in NY in February....and I've never seen him again.

DSC_0689.jpg

DSC_0693.jpg

Having Oswald in the park was very weird...I had CM running up to me wanting to know where to get him....which leads me to think that it wasn't sold at WDW?! and also I had a bunch of guests saying that he was a weird Mickey. :sad2:

After our great meeting with Tiana and Prince Naveen we decided to check in for our ADR at Liberty Tree.

IMG_0945.jpg

IMG_0949.jpg

We checked in a waiting the the corner to be called. We were a bit early but ended up waiting til after our ADR time. They were very busy. We were in no real rush so it didn't bother us.

We were seated near the staircase to the bathroom and met our waiter. who turned out to be one of the best Waiters we had all trip! He was so nice and accommodating.
Our table was decorated in streamers for our anniversary!
IMG_0951.jpg

IMG_0956.jpg

I ordered at Minute Maid Light Pomegranate Lemonade to start (SO GOOD!)
IMG_0960.jpg

IMG_0961.jpg

I loved these glasses! I wish they sold them. I really wanted one.

DH ordered a Chocolate milk
IMG_0962.jpg

IMG_0952.jpg

We decided to get two apps and share. So we ordered Declaration Salad - field greens and vegetables tossed with your choice of our tavern strawberry vinaigrette or roasted garlic buttermilk dressing
IMG_0958.jpg

and

Tavern Fried Cheese - with marinara sauce
IMG_0959.jpg

Both were good but I really liked the salad...probably because we got the buttermilk dressing.yum

When we went to order our entrees I ordered the Veggie pot pie...which the waiter stopped me and said...do you actually want that or are you just ordering it because its the only thing on the menu for you? which was my reason. He told me it wasn't very good...and offered to make me whatever I wanted!

I really wanted a sandwich so I got the Tri-Corner Sandwich - roast beef and swiss cheese with Liberty Slaw, horseradish cream sauce and arugula served on herbed focaccia with fresh fruit or tavern fries without meat, provolone cheese and with mash instead!
IMG_0965.jpg

It came out and it was made exactly how it is on the menu. Our waiter stormed off in a huff after finding out and I had a new sandwich quickly after! He really took care of us! This sandwich was really good! It totally hit the spot and was exactly what i wanted.

DH order New England Pot Roast... Our Tavern Keeper's Favorite - braised beef in a cabernet wine and mushroom sauce served with mashed potatoes and garden vegetables
IMG_0964.jpg

DH really enjoyed this. It was a nice break from having pizza or sandwiches for lunch (like at home!)

for dessert I ordered Apple Tart - shortbread crust, sugared apples, and butterscotch ice cream
IMG_0967.jpg

omg. this was awesome. Every bit of it. I loved the butterscotch ice cream. it was so different and the tart was perfect and crumbly. yummy

DH clearly decided to give up on being good and not getting a crazy dessert and ordered Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce
IMG_0968.jpg

This was another lick the bowl type of desserts. he devoured it!

So our Liberty Tree Tavern experience gets a big :thumbsup2 we really enjoyed the food and service. I think this is definitely a must try! I didn't have high hopes for this one but I should have! Now the dinner seems like a pre fix meal...so I would not be okay with this. So i'm all about the lunch. even though for me its really hard to be in MK and be eating for an hour! I would rather sit on Haunted Mansion and have my meal...just going around and around. hahaha.

Up Next:

I love the photo with the reflection in the sunglasses! And it's great to know that Liberty Tree Tavern was willing to be flexible with the vegetarian dish. Thanks for sharing the info :)

Thanks! Yeah I was very happily surprised by that..not all of the restaurants are as accommodating. it also depends on who your waiter is.

Day 7 Part 2

When I left you we had just left Liberty Tree and were on our way to one of my faves....

IMG_0970.jpg

DSC_0702-1.jpg

IMG_0972.jpg

Got to love this ride! Makes me so happy. I really wish they did the nightmare before Christmas version during Halloween at WDW. I really want to see it.

DSC_0704.jpg

DSC_0707.jpg

Oh Mr Toad...how i wish i could still ride your ride.

DSC_0709-1.jpg

We headed over to big thunder to grab some fast passes. We then decided to jump on the train.
DSC_0711.jpg

DSC_0716.jpg

DSC_0718.jpg

DSC_0730.jpg

I was surprised that these signs were still up!

DSC_0732.jpg

We then strolled down main street...which is always nice

DSC_0734.jpg

DSC_0735.jpg

Then I really wanted a picture in front of the castle.
IMG_0975.jpg

and headed towards Tomorrowland
DSC_0737.jpg

DSC_0738-1.jpg

Buzz had a short line so we hopped on that.
IMG_0978.jpg

Oswald was ready!
IMG_0981.jpg

I'm on the left and DH on the right

Then we headed over to ride some tea cups!
IMG_0988.jpg

IMG_0990.jpg

and then I made DH stand on the very long line for Dumbo. DH really wanted photos of the construction.

another fab update!

Where did you buy the Oswald toy? He's so cute - although I do think of him as the villain from Epic Mickey game now ;)

and - is there an easy way to explain how you take those photos where an object (eg Oswald) is in focus, but everything else is blurred? Love that effect :goodvibes

Emma princess: x

We then walked through Fantasyland
IMG_1010.jpg

IMG_1011.jpg

then we headed towards Big thunder to use our fastpasses.
IMG_1012.jpg

After our wild ride we headed to the front to get to our ADR. We were headed over to our Honeymoon resort, WL and we were very excited.

IMG_1013.jpg

We were so happy to be back. We love WL and it was hard not to stay there again.
IMG_1016.jpg

We went inside and changed into nice dinner clothes and then took some more photos.
IMG_1018.jpg

A nice guest saw DH taking a photo of us and offered..though he kind of missed the point that we wanted the resort behind us but still very nice.
IMG_1020.jpg

Soon enough it was time for our ADR! Artist Point is my favorite restaurant on property so I was very happy.

We were seated quickly, at a great table near the window. Our Waitress came over and was super nice and accommodating. I asked if I could speak to the chef about my dietary needs and she went off to get him.
IMG_1023.jpg

Before he arrived we were given a celebration drink!
IMG_1024.jpg

IMG_1025.jpg

So...when we were here on our honeymoon...I wanted a Mickey straw...and DH was like No this is a fancy restaurant we can't do that. and I spent the whole trip looking for one. So this time I was like Can i ask for a mickey straw? and he said no behave....and when my drink came look what it had in it?!

IMG_1028.jpg

Our waitress must of over heard us! hahaha

So the Chef came over and asked what i would like to eat. I mentioned that I had an asparagus app on our honeymoon that I loved...but it was no longer off the menu. He immediately knew what I was talking about and recognized me from our honeymoon! he told us happy anniversary and that he would be happy to make the old app specially for me! I was so excited.

first up came butter and bread. this is my favorite bread on property....even though that might sound weird.
IMG_1029.jpg

IMG_1030.jpg

So I was given my special asparagus.
IMG_1031.jpg

It was a little different then our honeymoon but it was so good! still my favorite app.

DH really wanted mussel on our honeymoon but they were sold out. So he finally got his mussels! Kettle-steamed Penn Cove Mussels - with Sourdough Panzanella
IMG_1032.jpg

DH loves Mussels....and he really enjoyed these! perfect way to start a meal.

For our main DH got Pan seared Airline Chicken Breast - With house made citrus cracked pepper pasta, wild mushrooms, root spinach and white wine her nage
IMG_1034.jpg

DH wasn't really into this dish. so it was a little disappointing.

and I got Gnocchi (they no longer serve it so I'm not sure of what was in it)

IMG_1035.jpg

This was surprisingly disappointing. it just was very boring and didn't have much flavor :(

For dessert we were both not really hungry so we requested a bowl of the ice cream they serve with their desserts.

I got black raspberry ice cream
IMG_1036.jpg

and DH got Salted Chocolate ice cream
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/WDW%20at%20Boardwalk%20Villas/IMG_1037.jpg[IMG]

Both were very good and not too much.

We still love Artist Point and it is still my favorite. They have gotten rid of the bad Gnocchi (maybe *** it was bad!) so I think our next meal there will be yummy.

[IMG]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/WDW%20at%20Boardwalk%20Villas/IMG_1038.jpg

We grabbed the boat back towards MK!
DSC_0006.jpg

DSC_0011.jpg

We decided that we weren't going to have time to get on any rides but we still hadn't seen Wishes or Magic Memories and You properly so that was our goal. We hung around til the first parade ended and scooted in to get a good spot at the hub.

DSC_0108.jpg

We love this show! Its just so so good.

So just before wishes was about to start a father took his daughter and put him on his shoulders blocking everyone! including some children in wheelchairs. wow...i really wanted to freak out. so...there are no wishes photos because everyone had that little girls head in the way! On the bright side DH always takes photos so he has never really experienced wishes without a camera. so that was good.

So then we headed over to frontierland to get a nice quiet spot for the parade. We saw the parade here on our honeymoon and it was perfect. We found a nice seated spot on one of the platforms in front of the stores in frontierland. and I went to grab some dole whips
IMG_1046.jpg

I donno if it was just me but they tasted different! they weren't as pineapple as i remember and I was kind of sad. Anyone? did they change it? We got the mix.
Soon after our treat the parade started!

For me this was bitter sweet. I love this parade and we aren't sure when will be able to get back! so I was sad when it ended.

We then made our way through adventureland and back to main street
DSC_0470.jpg

We popped into the main store and spent some money to ease our pain of our last day in the parks. Then DH took lots of photos

Emma princess: x

thanks hun!

I got him in the Disney store in time square. I only saw him there once and never again. I guess he was special edition? though there wasn't a special edition number like the other we have bought. I still love him...he does redeem himself at the end of the game.

its simply spot focusing on him and not the background. you can do it with a point and shoot, you just focus on the close object and then while still holding the focus button down move to get the whole image(like to the left). the focus will stay on the close object. on dsl we just move the focus sensor to what we want to be in focus and the rest will not be. it also depends on aperture. the bigger the aperture the move depth of field there is. the small the number the smaller the depth of field.

Does that help?

Thanks for the camera tips, I will try it out! I have a point & shoot but DH has a DSLR :goodvibes

Hope you're having a great weekend

Wow, great updates! I love the Oswald! I've never seen a plush of him before. I have read that you can buy the Liberty Tree glasses for $5 a piece if you just ask your waiter! I'm planning on asking in January.
Your anniversary dinner looks so yummy. I want a Mickey straw too. :)

Thanks! I didn't know he was going to be so rare when I bought him!

I did not know that! I would have bought one! Oh well!

Apparently you can buy them in some of the quick service restaurants at your resort? I don't know if they still have them.

Hi all! Okay so i'll admit I stalled a little because this is my last day post! and it makes me sad...and then I forgot...haha...so really delayed ending!

Last Day Part 1

So...if you haven't noticed I don't sleep in on vacations. I don't really see the point. I'm paying to be there I want to soak up every ounce of fun! hahaha....so needless to say...we were up early!

We quickly packed up our bags (we had done a little bit the night before) and made sure we weren't forgetting anything. Lots of pouting coming from my end.

We had to say goodbye to my balloon...so I took some photos of it.
DSC_0530.jpg

DSC_0538.jpg

We said goodbye to our room
DSC_0541.jpg

IMG_1048.jpg

looks like DH was really thrilled! haha..

We went down to the lobby to check into our flight and have our carry ons held for us. The whole process took about 20 mins.

So now that we were all ready for our flight we headed out to enjoy our last day in our favorite place.

DSC_0542.jpg

We were staying in the left wing of the main building...so we never went right...so we walked around a bit to see if we missed anything
DSC_0544.jpg

these were really cool.

I swooned over our future vow renewal location
DSC_0545.jpg

Then we walked along the boardwalk soaking up the sun and beautiful weather. We grabbed some coffee and muffins from the Bakery.

DSC_0549-1.jpg

DSC_0551.jpg

I really love all the boardwalk signs.

We walked through the swan and dolphin and found some bunnies!
DSC_0553.jpg

DSC_0557.jpg

Then we made it to our destination....
DSC_0559.jpg

We got there before it opened so we sat on at a table and ate our breakfast.

I really love the theming! Its super cute. It is a fun course and worth a try if you have time. I really love Fantasia so this was extra fun for me. I think I might have won...but i'm not sure. we had too much fun to care!

After our fun game we made our way over to the Yacht club.
More swooning....
DSC_0691.jpg

DSC_0694.jpg

We really enjoyed them theming here and would consider a stay!

DSC_0697-1.jpg

DSC_0698.jpg

We went in and walked around. We hadn't had a chance to explore the other Epcot resorts so this was nice.
DSC_0702-2.jpg

We then made our way towards the Beach club
DSC_0711-1.jpg

DSC_0713.jpg

We walked around a bit and then headed over to Beaches and Cream for lunch.
IMG_1059.jpg

IMG_1062.jpg

I was super excited! I really wanted a sundae but I was a good girl and got lunch first!

For starters we both got the Caesar salad.
IMG_1066.jpg

For our main I got Veggie Burger - Grilled vegetable and grain patty topped with lettuce and tomato served on a multi-grain bun. Served with fresh fruit or fries (surprise!) with Mozzerella Cheese
IMG_1065.jpg

Yum! for me nothing beats a good veggie burger.

DH got Burger Heaven (single) - A Juicy beef patty topped with your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle served on a fresh baked bun, with French fries or fresh fruit.with American Cheese
IMG_1068.jpg

and...DH is similar to me....loves a good burger!

While we were eating our main someone got a kitchen sink! which was fun to get to see. I feel like you need 10+ people to finish this...or you'll be sick. but this was a family of four! best of luck! haha.

Then it was time to get what we came for...dessert!

I knew what I was getting right away. No Way Jose - A peanut butter and hot fudge delight featuring chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate morsels, whipped cream and a cherry
IMG_1069.jpg

this is just a huge bowl of everything I love. YUM

I think DH got a mocha milkshake? I could be wrong on this..
IMG_1070.jpg

DH thought it was quite funny that my dessert was so big...which it really was..
DSC_0722.jpg

This has probably never happened that I got a bigger dessert then DH...but here it is!

DSC_0718-1.jpg

We really enjoyed Beaches and Cream....probably would go back just for Dessert next time. but still was a nice way to finish off our trip.

IMG_1072.jpg

IMG_1076.jpg

Here is me enjoying the nice weather...trying to soak up all the Disney wonderfulness.
