1 year anniversary, 8 days and too much food......June 2011...11/14 Last Day!

Day 5
So because DH got food poisoning the night before we were up most of the night we ended up sleeping in and skipping our ADR at Captain's Grill. We also were thrown off for the whole day because of the late start and we didn't take as many photos! :scared1: We got up around 9:30 and headed over to Hollywood studios. I was very excited because my favorite ride is here! (TOT)

So we got into the park and went straight over to Star Tours to grab fast passes!
DSC_0298.jpg

Then we walked around a little bit just enjoying the studios. We went to hang out with the Muppets! Which i'm obsessed with....I love this movie.

Then we headed into One Man's Dream. I really like how quiet it is how there isn't anyone rushing you.

DSC_0315.jpg

we really like Tron so this made us happy to see!
DSC_0321.jpg

want to go to...
IMG_0752.jpg

Then we stayed and watched the movie. we had never seen it....I think we were in a rush last time? :confused3

By this time our fast passes were ready so we quickly headed over to get TOT passes before rushing over to Star Tours. We were very excited!

IMG_0761.jpg

Our first sequence was, Darth Vader, Kashyyyk, Army of Republics

I really liked it the first time. I thought it was fun....(tho I miss the old one) DH was not yet convinced.

We then made our way towards Toy Story and hung around until we could get our passes.

IMG_0763.jpg

With happiness in hand we were off again!
We headed over to Tower and rode it twice! Love it so much....can't even tell you. I'm so happy they didn't do that summer nightastic crap again....because they messed with the sequences! I like the random sequence and it really upset me that it wasn't there for our honeymoon. But it was back and I was happy!!!

Then we decided to do the single rider line on Aerosmith. We had never done this before but they fastpasses were for 8-9 and we weren't going to make that! It took much longer then we thought it would and we were waiting for at least 45 mins. We actually ended up in the same car only a couple of rows back! So that was nice.

Then we might have gone and saw muppets again! heheh
IMG_0764.jpg

IMG_0766.jpg

As we were walking around deciding what to do next...we walked right by Animation and I dragged DH in. I really loved doing the drawing class. DH did not because he doesn't draw so I went and waited while DH walked around and took photos

DSC_0324-1.jpg

DSC_0333.jpg

In the class we got a really fun CM. He wanted to make sure that no one drew the same thing twice. So he started naming characters to see who we hadn't drawn. So it ended up as Jiminy Cricket, Buzz and Stitch. Then we all voted. I really wanted Jiminy....he is one of my favorites! but I was out voted. So Buzz it was! Here's the end result.

Oh no to food poisoning!

ToT is for sure a fun ride!!! And the Muppets are one of my husband's favorites! :thumbsup2

Your Buzz drawing looks great! Good job! :goodvibes

I'm glad you guys were able to have a decent start to the day in spite of the food poisoning :( I love the photos, especially One Man's Dream. I really loved this attraction also. I didn't get to spend as much time there as I wanted so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

another lovely update!

Sorry to hear DH didn't feel well  ... we didn't do 'One Man's Dream' on our last trip which I regret now because I love seeing everything in there! never mind.. I'll be back ;)

hope you have a lovely weekend and stay safe ... think you guys are near NY right?

Yeah I know terrible place to get food poisoning!

Good i'm glad i'm not alone! It always seems so empty...its sad! I think there should be more muppet rides.

Thank you!

Yeah I was very happy that DH still wanted to go out! They have added new stuff within the last year. Tron stuff and Fantasyland drawings and models. so I hope you enjoy it!

Yeah its really nice and a good break from crowds. We usually do it every other trip.

Thanks hun! Yep. we are in NYC. so we are staying and seeing what happens! I'm sure we'll be fine in our nice sturdy apartment building but I am more worried for Long Island where my family is. Thanks for thinking of us.

Day 5 Part 2
DSC_0336.jpg

DSC_0338.jpg

So at 3:30 we had a "dinner" ADR at Hollywood & Vine for our Fantasmic package! We missed Fantasmic on our honeymoon because we got there 2 hours early and the line was already insane. so we were making a point of catching it this time!

We checked in and sat on the little patio and waited and soon enough we were called. We were seated near the entrance and our waitress buzzed by saying something about just a minute. This waitress was probably one of the worst waitresses I've ever had at any restaurant. She was definitely not all there or not caring..i'm not sure which. but she kept getting yelled at by other staff members.

Anyway....

IMG_0769.jpg

It was a bit early for dinner but we tried to enjoy ourselves. I'm glad we didn't do Brown Derby because we never could have enjoyed it.

IMG_0771.jpg

IMG_0772.jpg

IMG_0773.jpg

I thought this was super cute. :)

IMG_0774.jpg

My first plate. SO the best things here were the mash and green beans. They were so so good. everything else was good too but those were my favorite.

IMG_0775.jpg

DH's plate. so...he really only took a bite of that bread and nothing else before that picture. He was so not into eating at that time. I donno I think he still wasn't feeling well.

I was still hungry so here was my second plate. YUM potatoes!
IMG_0776.jpg

IMG_0777.jpg

DH's plate so......clearly he wasn't TOO sick. :rotfl:

IMG_0778.jpg

I was way more into the potatoes then dessert. I only had the mousse but it was yummy mousse so thats okay.

So the food was good...the service. was terrible. We never were given refills for our drinks....and I didn't save mine because Disney is usually really good at refills. So yeah....I doubt we will go again. I'd rather use my credit and go to a real sit down.

So after dinner we needed to go have some fun....

IMG_0782.jpg

IMG_0785.jpg

IMG_0786.jpg

I won! DH was really mad. hahaha
IMG_0788-1.jpg

Then we decided we really needed to go see Prince silliness

Then we were off to scream a lot....hehe
IMG_0796.jpg

IMG_0799.jpg

I'm pretty sure I could ride this a million times and never get bored...love.

IMG_0802.jpg

Last up before we got to see Fantasmic was Star Tours!! yay
IMG_0804.jpg

We had Vader again at the beginning. Then we went Tatooine and did pod racing. We had Leia and then to the Death Star.

after that we were all ready for our special seating at Fantasmic.
IMG_0813.jpg

IMG_0815.jpg

We were herded off around Beauty and the Beast and through backstage until we got into the evil queen section on the very right. We got pretty good seats because we were only 2 people but I think if you had more you really should get there earlier. We went about an hour early and already it was very full.

We are all set!

We really love this show! It was about 4 years since we had seen it but it was worth the wait!

Afterwards it was so nice we decided to walk back to Boardwalk.
IMG_0822.jpg

Then we went for a nice swim in the quiet pool before hitting the sack!

Up Next:
Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope.

great update!

It's soo hard to get good photos of Fantasmic, and yet your's are so good! :thumbsup2 we've not seen this show for a few trips, in fact I think I've only ever seen it with a F! Dining Package! :cutie:

Hope you have a great weekend,

Thanks hun! DH is really good at night shots...so he seems to get good ones. It was a perfect way to see the show. I was so happy it was included on the dining plan. No waiting on lines!

We had a great weekend thanks! How about you guys?

Day 6 Part One

So The next morning we were up bright and early to head back to HS for Star Wars weekend! We went during our honeymoon and loved it. We are huge Star Wars fans.

While DH was getting ready I went down by the pool. I loved the theming and really wanted to get some photos of it when there was no one around.
IMG_0827.jpg

IMG_0828.jpg

IMG_0831.jpg

IMG_0832.jpg

This time we decided to take the boat over. Its a nice way to start the morning. It didn't feel as hot on the boat. Best way to travel!

DSC_0648-1.jpg

DSC_0649.jpg

IMG_0838.jpg

We quickly arrived and were greeted by these guys!
DSC_0654.jpg

They were making fun of everyone walking it which was really funny.
DSC_0657.jpg

DSC_0659-1.jpg

First up we headed over to Star Tours to grab fastpasses. Then we went over to the Star Wars shop because I had my heart set on meeting a certain Droid.

DSC_0661.jpg

The crowd was really small and there were about 5 people online for the meet and greet. We were told he would be arriving shortly! Soon enough we heard the amazingness that is R2D2.

DSC_0665.jpg

DSC_0667-1.jpg

After meeting my favorite little guy we shopped around and bought our special Star Wars items! I got an awesome shirt that I wear all the time.
DSC_0669-1.jpg

Because we were so close we decided to enter into the Twilight Zone.
DSC_0672.jpg

DSC_0673.jpg

It was fantastic as always!!

By then it was time for our fastpasses so we headed over to Star Tours

IMG_0842.jpg

IMG_0845.jpg

I'm sorry but I'm not quite sure of the sequence we got here but we went to Kashyyyk again.

Afterward we decided to see what the wait was like for Great movie ride. I forgot to mention on Day 5 post that we rode Great movie ride and had a terrible CM. She was just such a bad actress. So we needed to ride it again to make up for it!

It was actually a little busy because of Star Wars weekend. and I'm so glad we rode it because we hit the rare jackpot!

IMG_0847.jpg

Western scene instead of Gangster! I was shocked when we went straight through the Gangster scene without the switch. I have wanted to see this for a long time! I was very happy.

We then headed over to the Writers shop. Me and DH had both been eying books through out the trip and wanted to make sure we got them! I like this store a lot...though it gets very crowded.

We also watched the Mulch Sweat and Shears play for a little.

IMG_0848.jpg

At noon it was time for our ADR..which I was very much looking forward to....Sci fi!
IMG_0849.jpg

We checked in and were seated rather quickly. There was a huge line of people waiting though and we were afraid we'd be one of them!
IMG_0851.jpg

DH is ready!
IMG_0853.jpg

IMG_0856.jpg

Our waitress was super nice and accommodating without being bothersome. I love how relaxed Sci Fi is. I never feel rushed.

For my App I got the Spinach and Artichoke Dip- A blend of mozzarella, Swiss, and asiago cheeses, spinach, and artichokes served with corn tortilla chips.
IMG_0857.jpg

This is so good....its one of the best i've ever had and I love this dip so thats saying a lot.

DH got Onion rings. (boring!) A generous portion of battered onion rings
IMG_0858.jpg

He thought they were very good....but to me they were just onion rings. :confused3

DH got a milkshake as his dessert- Oreo Cookie
IMG_0859.jpg

I doubt DH has ever had a milkshake he didn't like so....its hard to judge.

I had a cherry diet coke.

DH had Beef and Blue Salad - Sliced Butcher tender steak with a Wedge of Iceberg lettuce topped with blue cheese dressing, tomatoes and Bacon for his main
IMG_0860.jpg

This is one of DH's favorite meals on property. He has had it before and loved it.

I had Seared Marinated Tofu - Served with mango glaze, fresh vegetables, and white rice
IMG_0861.jpg

I frown a lot on the menu veggie food. but this is awesome and yummy and one of my faves.

For DH had apple pie
IMG_0862.jpg

I think he regretted this only because it was too much food!

I had a chocolate shake for my dessert.
IMG_0863.jpg

YUM

SO over all. Sci Fi is awesome and we miss it if we don't eat here. its a good lunch to get out of the heat!

Coming up:
IMG_0882.jpg

We were there for Star Wars Weekend too :) It was a great time in spite of being so crowded. Your meal at Sci Fi Dine In looks great. I made a reservation there for our October trip but I hear they're getting rid of the tofu dish :(

I read your reply on my phone and forgot to reply! oops!

Its really is a good time. We always go on Friday because its just a little quieter. I'm so so sad to hear about the Tofu dish! its so good. I hope they replace it with something good...and not full of mushrooms :headache:

I hope you have a good meal there in October!

Wow...I am so sorry or the delay! I will try and be better and finish this thing up!

Day 6 Part 2

So one of my goals for Star Wars weekend was to get a photo with Jedi Mickey but when we got over to the line he was already there!
IMG_0866.jpg

We found out he was leaving soon and next up was Minnie Leya, who we were lucky to see last time.....so we sadly walked away.

IMG_0868.jpg

I really like this photo of DH. :)

We then headed back over to the tower for one last ride!
IMG_0869.jpg

As always it was amazing.

So we really wanted to find the "To serve Men" book which we found out was somewhere hidden in the tv room before you enter the main queue. We were very excited to finally see it! I am a big Twilight Zone nerd so this totally made my day. Sadly it was too dark to grab a photo.

So after our terrifying drop....we left Hollywood Studios. Which was sad because it would be our last day there :sad2:

We grabbed the boat back to the boardwalk to freshen up, we also really needed to pick up some of our packages from the gift shop. It closes way before we got back each night.

Then we walked over to Epcot. We had already rode the main rides we wanted so we decided to do the other fun stuff...for us this included lots of Kim Possible and meeting a fuzzy bear.

First up was our bear friend!
IMG_0873.jpg

DH was ready. We were the first on line.

IMG_0875.jpg

Here he comes!
IMG_0878.jpg

IMG_0879.jpg

Too cute

Next up we headed on a mission! We loved when we did Kim Possible the first time.
IMG_0881.jpg

We went to Norway to get our phone and choose to go to Mexico first. Before starting our mission we needed to go see Donald!
IMG_0882.jpg

Sorry i was having too much fun to take photos! ha..

We then did our Mission in
IMG_0884.jpg

Mexico
IMG_0885.jpg

Japan
IMG_0886.jpg

and England

My favorite was Japan....but DH really liked England (surprise surprise!)

We then headed back to our room to change for dinner. Tonight we had an ADR at Chefs De France which I was very excited about
IMG_0892.jpg

Our ADR was at 8:30 and I didn't even think about Illuminations...but we were seated right next to the window! Which really made me happy.

Our Waitress was okay she came by, barely said hello and asked what we wanted to drink.
We both had a beer but for the life of me I can't remember which one!
IMG_0894.jpg

We were given a nice fresh baguette to start.
IMG_0893.jpg

For my Appetizer I got the Tomate et fromage do chevre - Tomato and goat cheese Flatbread
IMG_0896.jpg

This was very good....but really? does an app have to be this big? I was shocked. I haven't order a Flatbread for my app in other Disney Restaurants but DH has and it was half the size. so this was a surprise.

DH....trying to make me look bad...haha...Salade maison - selected greens, house dressing
IMG_0897.jpg

Soon after our apps came Illuminations started! We had never seen it from a resturant and I really enjoyed it this way. We have seen it so many times that this was perfect.
IMG_0898.jpg

I only took one photo because I was enjoying it.

For my main I got Lasagnes de legumes du soleil a l'huile d'olive au thym - Zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers, onions and tomato baked into thin layers of pasta
IMG_0900.jpg

Wow was this good! I really enjoyed it...but again with the flatbread I just couldn't eat it all! yum.

DH got Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with black peppercorn sauce, original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans
IMG_0901.jpg

DH really enjoyed this. We thought it was funny how bad the steak was at a steakhouse but how good it was in France....oh well.

DH was definately feeling the DLX dining plan blues and got Assiette de Sorbets du jour et son palmier - Daily assortment of fresh sorbets served with an elephant ear
IMG_0902.jpg

It was okay...not the best sorbet but not the best.

I am not going to go to a French resturant and not get a crepe soooo.....Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes - Crepe filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce was for me
IMG_0905.jpg

This was very good and a nice finish...seriously there is too much food here!

I really liked the atmosphere and the food but...this was the first time where I felt that maybe it was too late for our ADR. The restaurant was about half full....but the CM clearly wanted to get out of there and were all huddled in a corner chatting for most of the night. so it gave you a weird feeling of you should eat quickly. so I donno if it was just the night but this put me off. Also top reason we came here was to see Remi (we are children) but he doesn't come out after like 6! we were so sad. They should really make that known....we would have come for lunch if this was known. So heads up if you are going or taking your kids!

We had a nice quiet Epcot after we left.

IMG_0908.jpg

I love how quiet World Showcase is in the early morning and late at night.

We walked over towards the front to get the monorail.
IMG_0911.jpg

We were waiting for the Tron-a-rail but sadly we just missed it and weren't sure when the last monorail out of Epcot so sadly...no Tron-a-rail....and now its gone
IMG_0913.jpg

As we were pulling up we saw that the Electrical Water Parade was about to start but just as our monorail was pulling in it broke down and they couldn't get the doors open! We finally had to jump over seats to get out (a CM told us too!) and ran to catch the rest of the parade.
IMG_0915.jpg

Tonight was extra magic hours til 3am! so we were all over that!
Our first stop was Adventureland
IMG_0918.jpg

We went on Pirates first and then tried to see how Jungle Cruise was. We wanted to get the "Adult" version of the ride but this time we had some kids so we decided to head back later to see if there were less kids.

We jumped on Big Thunder and then headed around to Haunted Mansion and then finally Dumbo!
IMG_0921.jpg

The line was still crazy. We didn't get it.
IMG_0922.jpg

We then headed towards tomorrowland to see if we could get on Space but the line was crazy. So we went to a different space.
IMG_0923.jpg

I was on the left. DH was getting me back for beating him at Toy Story Mania!

We headed back through Fantasyland, grabbed the latest fast passes i've ever seen

IMG_0925.jpg

for Peter Pan
and then jumped on Its a Small World.

We then made our way to Splash and finally back to Jungle Cruise for one last try! We thought we had it until a child got on at the last second...We were very disappointed. Anyone been on a cruise that did the "Adult" speech?

So by then it was 2:40 and we wanted to try and get on Space...but when we arrived it was closed!!! Shocked. But a CM told us that even if they get it back up at 2:59 they will still let people on...so she recommended we hang.

we decided to sit and wait.
IMG_0926.jpg

so pretty...please let us on!

at 2:55 they reopened the ride and we were one of the first in the swarm to grab a flight! It was cool to get to ride just before it closed.

We then dragged our tired selves home so we could get some sleep before our next morning of fun!

I really love your trip report...
seeing all your photos is actually making me very excited for my trip in november. i am so jealous that you got to draw buzz because every time we go there we get the same...mickey/minnie/donald/goofy/pooh tiger. we have never done the alien/buzz/woody or anybody cool. i'm dying to do jiminy cricket/alien from toy story. :)

What's the "adult" version of the Jungle Cruise? :confused3

We have heard rumors that if you go on the Jungle Cruise during EMH and there are no children on your boat some CM will do an adult version of their usual speech. We weren't positive what it would be like but we thought we would try and see if we got it.

Thanks so much! I'm glad I can help get you excited for your November trip (can I come!? :rotfl:) We've had the opposite experience! We always get the different characters not the classics. Oh well guess your never happy with what you get. Let me know if you get someone awesome like Jiminy I'd like to see that!
