I am considering options for a 1 way rental from Vero Beach area to the Swan Dolphin area.

I don't need a car rental, hoping for a shuttle option. If there is no other option I could rent a car just for the day.

Any suggestions?

Jenn

Uber or Lyft? Maybe a private car service? Just bear in mind that a car service will likely charge you a charter rate, since the driver will have to trek out to Vero to get you.

Honestly, I can't see a Lyft/Uber driver accepting that ride. It's roughly 100 miles each way and the driver probably wouldn't have a paying fare for the return trip.

Uber and Lyft drivers are (shockingly) not told where they're going until they start the ride. Sometimes it tells them if it will be a long ride (over an hour, usually). It's ridiculous. One of the reasons I just stopped driving with them and started with a car service.

That really sucks especially since VB & WDW are nearly 2 hours apart.

Agreed! A couple of weeks back, I was driving Uber and had a pickup at the airport after just having dropped someone off. I had to pick my girlfriend up at work after, so I was hoping I was just going to Disney or Universal. The passenger got in the car and I started the ride, only to find out I was going to Vero. I was an hour late picking my girlfriend up from work.
Last week, I was driving Lyft and had just dropped someone off at the airport, and had a pickup dispatched to me. It was getting fairly late, so I was going to make it my last ride anyway. Little did I know until the passenger was in the car that I was going all the way to Ocala and would be getting home much later than I expected.
It really, really sucks.
The car service I am driving with (the most major one in Orlando) tells us what the fare is and where we are going well before we actually pick the passengers up. Much better, and the money is much better, too.

I’m in a similar boat.

I need transfers from WDW to Vero and then back to the airport a week later and don’t want to rent a car

Check out: Melbourne Airport Express. It’s a van shuttle between Melbourne airport and Orlando International Airport. The shuttle drops off at MCO right next to Mears Connect so it’s easy to coordinate a ride on Mears to all the Disney Resorts. You can also book the Melbourne Airport shuttle between Melbourne airport and Disney Vero Beach resort. Kind of a patchwork of the two shuttles but very doable. I’ve done it many times.

Car services will take you to Vero. Check their website, call or email. Mears rate is a charter rate, based on a 4 hours minimum.
Mears rate $335 each way for a luxury SUV or luxury van. That includes tip. Other car services, assuming they'll let you book it, might be a few dollars less. You're not only paying for your transportation, you're paying the cost to drive the vehicle in the other direction, empty.

Renting a car, assuming you can rent a car, makes a lot more sense.
