Could use some help in deciding which would be the better deal. Am planning trip for early Dec for 3 "mature" ladies (fourth dropped out) Originally was planning on 2 rooms at AllStars but now that there are only 3 of us, does any one know if it would be cheaper to get 2 rooms at AllStars or get 1 at Swan/Dolphin with Gov. rate, roll-away bed and charge for extra adult in room. Is there an additional charge for that extra adult if you pay for the roll-away? Thanks for any help.

The Swan/Dolphin might be a little more expensive if you have to pay the additional adult fee and the fee for the rollaway and if you can get the All Stars at a discounted rate. But the location of the Swan/Dolphin is much better than the All Stars especially for an adult only trip. The Epcot resorts are within walking distance to 2 parks and numerous restaurants, shops and nighttime entertainment. IMHO, the Epcot resorts are in the best location on WDW property. Also the Swan/Dolphin is a deluxe resort so you get all the deluxe resort amenities like room service, valet parking, etc.

You have to go with S/D!!! It's the absolute best location for an adults only trip. DH and I went w/o the kids and split b/w Dolphin and GF. We enjoyed Dolphin much better! Location aside, Dolphin itself is such a fabulous resort, top notch service, gorgeous lobby and pool, amazing views. It's definitely one of my fav. resorts. Have a great time, I'm envious.

and would recommend the Dolphin/Swan for the following reasons -

1. Close to EPCOT & MGM - some say walking distance
2. Walking distance to the Boardwalk area
3. Deluxe at gov't rate ($129) is a great deal
4. Easy access to dozens of great restaurants (vs. the food court at All-Stars).

I found ASMO okay for families, but we 6 adults felt a little out-of-place amidst the chaos.

I am looking forward to my Dolphin (gov't rate) stay in September!

Yes, you are close enough that you can walk! Epcot is a little closer than MGM. It's a nice stroll past the YC/BC and Boardwalk resorts, and it's often faster to walk to/from Epcot than taking the boat!

Since it's an adult trip, I'd go with either the Swan or Dolphin!

Thanks for your replys. You've convinced me. Now I will try to convince the rest!

Ityldu: Do you fly out of Allentown directly to Orlando? We all live around 25-30 miles west of you in the Hamburg area and were hoping to leave from Allentown. But since 9/11 they have discontinued all direct flights and we'll have to go to Philly. It was SOO convenient to leave from Allentown.

Thanks again!

mitchinson - Hi Neighbor. Yes, I'm also very disappointed about the cutbacks since 9/11. It was so nice to have direct flights out of ABE, but we also switched them to Philly. The other downfall is being there 3 hours in advance. With 8am flights, we'd have to wake up at 3am in order to be out and get there by 5am. We'll be staying at a hotel the night before just to save a little time.
