1 Solo Day...What to do?

My friend and I are taking a trip to Disney in June. We will be doing an afternoon at Magic Kingdom the day he flies in, then one full day each at all the parks together.

I am going down ahead of time, however, to see some family the weekend before he arrives, and I have one park day left on my ticket to use on my own the day before he gets in. I will be staying at the Dolphin when solo, then moving to Port Orleans when with my friend.

Originally I was just going to spend the day at DHS, but the more I think on it the less sure I am about whether I want to spend my day that way or not. I'm torn on what to do and have been to Disney many times, so figured I'd open it up to you all for your input.

I could do...

A day at DHS - my friend does not care about Star Wars rides or Tower of Terror, which I enjoy. There's also the slight possibility that the Muppets coaster is open if the Memorial Day weekend rumors hold true (another ride he wouldn't be interested in if it were running). So originally my plans were to do all those rides (plus...everything else, ride wise, really, lol) and eat at 50s Prime Time since we aren't eating their on our day together.

A day at EPCOT - we have a fairly comprehensive day set for when my friend and I go together, but I could certainly snack around the world and try some new food items, plus I very much enjoy Guardians and the other rides there (moreso than I do DHS' Rise of the Resistance or Smuggler's Run, although I know the new Mandalorian theme will be going on then). As a deluxe guest I would also have the additional evening hours.

If you were me, what would you do? Option A, Option B, something I haven't even considered yet? Unfortunately I do not have a park hopper, so I can't just cherry pick my favorite rides and go between parks (alas).

Based on your statement, if you don't feel your friend will want to go to DHS and if you like Star Wars and Tower of Terror and perhaps Muppets then I'd do that, so you don't regret not doing them. Especially if you and your friend are already planning a day in Epcot.

It's too bad AK doesn't offer more in the way of rides, because as a solo traveler I would enjoy just relaxing in AK, I find it's pretty chill and I would do Avatar rides, Safari, Everest and maybe hit up Lion King and enjoy some of the great food options. But that's probably only half a day worth of stuff.

I think if you really want to get the DHS rides in that your friend won't enjoy, I would probably do DHS though I, personally, would pick Epcot particularly if you have extra evening hours.

How about a tour? On a recent solo day at MK, I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. It was fabulous!

would have been a perfect day for the free water park on arrival day and then hit DHS later in the evening. I would go to HS versus additional time at no festival Epcot.

I would do EP but that's because I personally love strolling around EP at my leisure. For you I vote DHS though! Do all the stuff you're excited about, repeat whatever you want and do it at your pace.
