So having recently stayed at both PIT and OG Poly, they are so different in many ways but love both. There is just such a different vibe between them it almost seems like two different resorts. PIT, busy, bright, polished and modern. OG poly, dark, quiet and relaxed. Great Ceremonial house is the middle of the action and certainly busy most times.

I will say QS at Capt Cook’s was slammed most times we ordered during typical meal times. I heard some gentlemen talking to a manager about wait times and that while the app you can order ahead, it doesn’t give you an accurate picture of when your meal was actually going to be ready. I found most of our orders took (on average) 30 minutes from it being placed. This seemed longer than in the past but I can’t say scientifically.

I have been reading lots of reviews on the overall "crowd" and busy feeling at the Poly. I just changed our June stay from a week at BWV to Poly because deep down my favorite resorts are AKL and Poly (AKL will be our 2026 location lol).

Do you think the overall crowds might be caused by people coming to just see the new tower? Are there off times you found to be "less" busy.

I figure worst case we will eat in our room if way too many in terms of crowds lol. It is just DH and myself this trip. We did do BWV last trip (during a giant conference and it was horrid busy). While I love the location of the Crescent lake hotels I just love the vibe at the Poly.

I love the look of the Island Tower and cannot wait to stay there.

The last time I was a Captn Cook's, I was thinking they need a bigger QS to accomdodate all these guests. Now with the PIT, that means even more guests.
