It's a little early to be planning contigencies for Nov., but that's just me. We should be pulling into Dolphin about 1 pm on Fri., Nov. 8. Any ideas based on experience as to whether we'll get our room or is that too early? I'd like to hit the pool, ESPN Club and PI in that order the first day, but waiting for a room will change things. Comments??

Thanks,
Bill From PA

We arrived around 12:45 (on a Friday) and had no problems at all with our room being ready. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be, but it was!

The whole check in process only took about 5 minutes!

Great question Bill -- I'm planning already too!

Blondie - any suggestions for the first 1/2 day and night? What did you do?

Shercara after we unpacked, I wanted to head right out to the MK, but my DH and sons had other ideas...they wanted to hit the pool!!

So we strolled on down to the Grotto Pool, got nice lounge chairs and soaked up some sun, it was a beautiful day!

We were only there maybe 2 hours, and then went to the MK!

I think going to the pool was a good idea, it gave us some to relax after being up so early in the AM to catch our flight, and also time to plan out the week.

Came back from the MK, and watched the fireworks from Epcot's Illuminations from our balcony!

We've only checked in early once and we had absolutely no problem. I forget exactly what time it was, but it was much earlier then 1pm and it was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, during the Millenium Celebration. The Dolphin is so accommodating and from what I've heard on these boards, it's very rare to have to wait for your room.

My friend also showed up early this past weekend, President's Day weekend, and her standard room wasn't available yet, so they offered her an Epcot view room with no additional charge.

I can only add to the above comments. The four times I've checked in at the Dolphin, it was so qucik, I almost missed it! It may help to phone the week before and tell them you plan to arrive at 1p.m. But, I really don't think you'll have a problem. I told them my name, and they acted as if they had been waiting for me! They asked for my credit card, swiped it, and handed me my keys in a cardboard thingie, and I was off and running. By the way, have a marvelous time. ;)
