First trip to Universal/IOA

Just bought from the viator.com website 2 park bonus ticket up to 14 days. Will be at Universal/IOA for 4 days. Will be offsite for 3 nights (WDW) but have the opportunity for one night Tuesday, June 1st. at RPR. There were no deals, it is Memorial Week, total cost one nite $280.13(249/nite).

In your opinion is it worth it doing that one night just for the FOTL passes for 2 days, considering we'll be there for 4 days?

It'll be cheaper by $100 to continue the offsite stay for 4 nights, but it may be WWoHP week to open.

Considering I'll have son 6 yrs(guess ht 42') and daughter 7(ht 45') so that eliminates some rides, WWYD?

What is an average wait time without FOTL passes on popular rides?

Well you could prob hit up all the rides early morning in 4 days and let kids play on the playgrounds etc when it gets busy around 11-noon. I would imagine that week rides will be an hr or more lines getting into later hours.

If it were my trip I would probably spring for the hotel. But knowing you have 4 days to experience the rides and sites I would say you could probably get by w/o them with some good planning and execution.

This idea is from past experience that the park is usually pretty empty pre 11am...But if HP gets opened you may see a spur of ppl getting there early to try to experience Potter and may branch off to the other rides making the lines insane.

I think you're right. I'm agonizing over crazy lines and hot weather. I think I'll bite the bullet and book for one night. The advertisements have increased on tv and I'm getting anxious. I have till May 27 to cancel that one. The Doubletree is still offering $89/nite and that's another option. That would be a $180 savings. I'll definitely make my decision once I hear the official opening, which may be told next week.

Thanks for your experience and input!
