1 Night at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

We will arrive to Disney around 2-3pm and was wondering if that one night is enough resort time? (kids are 8&12) We have AK park reservations the following day so I thought it might be nice to stay there for one night, but I don’t want to regret that we have to go to AK early the next morning because we didn’t get to experience enough at AKL.

So that's a tough question, partially because it depends on when you are traveling. If it's in the near future, it's hard to say what programs and activities at AKL will actually be running. If it's in the future when things are more back to "normal", honestly you could spend a whole day at AKL and not do everything. I found I had to get out of the mindset of experiencing a certain amount of things anywhere in Disney to feel something was worthwhile. You can absolutely do a lot at AKL in an afternoon/evening and be able to enjoy the resort, but it really depends on what your goals are/what things you REALLY want to experience. Some things are only held at certain times, and may not be available in the late afternoon/evening...other things (like the savannah night viewing) only happen after dusk. I don't have a link to an activities list but I think you can find them pretty easily online....take a look at that and figure out if what you want to get out of the resort can be done in the limited time you have.

We are traveling in about a month. I realize we can’t do everything and that just means another trip in the future. I just don’t want my kids upset that we have to checkout to go to Animal Kingdom instead of staying longer at the resort. But, since AK closes so early now, I don’t want to go later in the day either and not get to do what they want there. Thanks!
