My family thinks I'm way too overprotective but I don't even return a cart without the kids with me at all times. I can show them this as proof to how fast a baby can be gone! With the way carseats are too..they can easily just be removed from the base. Good to know I'm not all that overprotective.

I have a one month old and reading this just made me cry because I'd be completely heartbroken if someone ran off with my little guy (or my big girl).

This is definitely a sad story and I hope the baby they found is this baby, however am I the only one that feels this could have been avoided? I have done this often with my own son, but the only difference is I lock him in the car, even if I am parked right next to the cart return. Since this is Texas and I assume it is hot, I would have turned the car and AC on and then locked the doors to return the cart. In today's world you can't be too careful with those things that are most precious to us.
