1 month left and ?'s

Hi!

I have not posted in a few weeks, but our trip is quickly approaching and I have a some questions I was hoping to get answered from the lovely DISboard people!

Our travel dates are Fri. 10/28 (but we get in late) and we leave Fri. 11/4. Because M-Th the parks will be closed by 8pm, I was wondering if there were things to do at night aside from DTD? For example, on Thurs. we are going to the Pirate Dinner show. What about something like Ripley's Believe It Or Not? Are there other things like this in the area? We will not have a car, but a short taxi ride is fine. There is a swimming pool at the hotel, but we won't want to do that everynight. And it is possible that we will not want to do anything but rest up for the next day, but I wanted to have some ideas just in case.

Also, we are considering taking one of the days and going to Sea World for the day. My only reservation is the shorter ours for the amount of time and money. With the tours, you end up with 7 hours at most in the park, and then you spend 4 hours driving there and back. We have never been before, and really want to go, but I don't want to be disappointed, especially when it will cost $200.00 not counting food and souvenirs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Traci,
So I can tell you that the Pirate Dinner Adventure is an absolute blast. We try and do that everytime that we are at Disney. In fact that and Medieval Times are the only things that we leave the resort area for.

I'm thinking thinking that you are likely staying in the Disneyland Resort area which means that you would be on a route for ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) the Anaheim GardenWalk. To a certain extent it is similar to Downtown Disney with different dining options and bowling if that is interesting to your family. Here's a link to that website. http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/

As far as SeaWorld goes, I really love that too, but am usually only in Southern California for three days which means in and out of Disneyland. I don't think that you would be disappointed with it. The train station in Anaheim is in the ART area, I'm not completely sure where the SeaWorld area train station is, but my cousin takes that trip very often and says that its convenient.

I have also been to Pirates and highly suggest it, just make sure you go hungry because you will have a lot to eat there. In DTD they have a movie theater. Also, Buena Park is a close by town where knotts berry farm is (this is an old wild west park). I also highly suggest this park or even Universal Studios in Hollywood. Also, looking at the stars on the ground in Hollywood is cool. SeaWorrld is AWESOME!!! You can get discounts to Seaworld through the AAA website & discounts to Pirates from Undercover tourist through Mousesavers.com

We just got back from 7 days at DLR. Besides myself, it was my DH and DS who is 6. We spent 6 days in DL and CA and one day in the middle of the week at the beach. I guess something you have to think about is who are you going with and what can they tolerate. For us, having the parks shut down at 8pm was just about right. We were tired from hitting the park all day long that we slowly made our way back to our hotel, did a little shopping at DTD and then went to bed. We had no problem spending 6 days in the parks and still didn't see it all. If you want to rent a car for a day and do some sight seeing, they have several car rentals really close to the park. Alamo is at DLH and there are others on Katella right next to the Desert Palm.
