1 hour layover in Miami?

So I lucked out yesterday and found a decent fare on American that will get us to MCO earlier than any of the other decently priced direct flights but it has a 1 hour layover in Miami. Does anyone have any experience with this airport? Provided we arrive on time will an hour be enough to make our connecting flight? It's been 22 years since DH was there last so he's not much help! We have the flight on hold until midnight tonight so I'm going to go ahead and book it if the connection shouldn't be a problem.

One hour is plenty of time for a domestic connection.

MIA is just like every other airport in the US, big but navigable. AA uses terminals D & E and there is something called Sky train transports passengers through that terminal (terminal D is one mile long).

Before you land, the flight attendant usually announces gate information for connecting flight. Get out the American Way magazine and check the map on the back. Hopefully you'll arrive gate 44 and connect to gate 46.
