My friend just called and said it took them 90 minutes to check-in and get their luggage to the room at CBR today at about 4 pm. The cm's told them it was one of the busiest days they had seen in a long time. Now, I am a little nervous. We arrive next Tuesday (Oct 5) at about midnight - our plane gets in at 11:15 pm. Surely , we won't have a wait like that to check in at the Poly! I don't know if my kids could handle a long wait like that at midnight. I definitely will have to rethink my next day,s schedule if that were to happen!

Well, consider it was a Saturday, right after check in is officially allowed.
Still a long wait. But I know there have been times we waited quite awhile to check in when a holiday or event weekend is on.

Mid week -- late, late, late, I wuld not worry about check in length.

Have fun and relax! :wave2: ::yes::

I think the resorts are experiencing all those people that rescheduled their vacations due to the hurricanes. The resorts may not be back to full staffing since so many CM's had damage to their homes.

I think there would be a lot more people trying to check in around 3 pm then there will be at midnight. ::yes::

How long was the wait from the time they entered the check-in line at the custom house until the time that they finished with the check-in paperwork at the custom house? That is the true time of how long it took to check into CBR.

If they choose to have their luggage delivered and not just bring it with them to their room that is a different service then checking in. It is my understanding that the moderates do not offer "bell services" in the same manner in which the Disney deluxe resorts do.

Just wondering because if they waited in line at the custom house for a hour and a half that is unacceptable but if that time included waiting for their bags in their room that is not bad as the luggage service provided is a known issue, in my opinion, at the moderates and value resorts.

We handle our own bags when we do stay moderate or value as it is not worth the wait. The moderates and values are set up like motels so just like if we were to stay at a motel off of Disney we handle our own bags.

I'll ask her specifically next time she calls in how long she was in line. I do know that 90 minutes was there total time to get to the room, because I said "I think I would just carry my own luggage to the room" However, she said there was no way they could do that because it was about a 2 mile walk to their room and they would have never found it (they are first timers like we are). Hopefully things will be easier at the Poly. I had read that this is a con for CBR - it's size and I guess they experienced the worst part of that issue. They are good to go now. Their kids took a quick nap and now they are at MK - happy to be there!

Tiffany - I just reread your post. They were not in their room. They were in the custom house waiting for the bellman to take them and their luggage to their room. I think I would have grabbed a map and struck out on my own, but that's easy for me to say. Iv'e never been to CBR!

The con of CBR would be the size and it sounds like they do not have a car with them so yes getting from the custom house to their room with their bags without a car is not easy to do.

Wow and hour and a half in the custom house. That is very long. I did not think that CBR offered the service of having bellmen take people directly to their room but we have not stayed at CBR since 1997 so things might have changed.

You are checking in at a time that very few will be checking in unlike 4pm. Also you are staying at a much smaller deluxe resort. I don't see any reason for you to experience that kind of delay.

My guess at CBR on a busy day at 4pm it took about 30 minutes to check in and an hour to get their luggage to the room.

when we showed up at the AKL we had issues with getting a bellman and did just that, made for a lot of extra trips to the car (because disney won't give you a cart unless you get a bellman and we had a lot of stuff) but if we hadn't it would have taken a while to get someone
