We left on Wednesday, May 18. I had booked a later flight (10:00 a.m.) as opposed to our normal 6:20 a.m. flight when we are all zombies and the later time worked much better. I was flying with DS5 and DD9 (DH was driving down b/c he had business in GA). I was a little nervous about flying with both kids by myself!

We had told the kids about the trip just 2 days before we left and they were soooo excited! DS5 did much better counting the days (the last time we told him a couple days before, he literally asked us every 5 minutes, 'is it time to go yet?' LOL!). This time he knew we were leaving on Wed and he was more able to wait.

We got to the airport and they had curbside check-in (awesome! especially since they don't have it early in the morning, which means we normally have to carry all the luggage from the parking lot to the airport ourselves). The nice guy there informed me they had a direct flight leaving a little later than my flight and if I wanted, I could switch to the direct flight for $25 per ticket! I jumped at the chance. I was NOT looking forward to the 3 hour layover in Atlanta, and DS5 hates "2 planes" as he puts it, b/c it means having to take off and land 2 times instead of one! So we were off to a great start! DS was tickled when I told him that we would just be taking one plane instead of 2.

Throughout the day, DS5 would suddenly say, "Mom I'm sooo proud of you for telling them 'one plane!'" It was too funny!

We took off at 11:15 or so, and landed at MCO almost exactly 2 hours later. We made our way to the Magical Express desk, checked in there, and then found the lines for the buses to the resort. There was a specific line for ASSp and we waited around 10 minutes. The bus was very nice on the inside, plush and air conditioned, with tv screens stationed throughout to show Disney attractions! The kids loved this. Finally we got to the hotel and checked in. Our room was ready. We grabbed some late lunch in the food court and headed to our room.

ASSp is like the other standard value resorts, very small room with just the basics, a couple pools and a food court. I never really noticed how small the rooms are until we'd stayed at moderates and deluxes! But it was fine for our needs and we just stayed there one night.

The biggest downside to the Magical Express is that your luggage doesn't get to your room when you do. It made it 3 hours after we got there! Which actually wasn't so bad in our case b/c we didn't really need it for anything. But if you did, that would be a bummer. We spent the time resting and watching the Disney reel on tv! After our luggage arrived, we jumped into our swimsuits and went to the pool! DD9 immediately made a best buddy in Tiphanie who was 10 and they had a lot of fun together. Turned out she also had a 5 year old brother Jacob and he and DS got to play some too!! The water was warm and the pool was not crowded. We had a great time. DS did NOT want to get out of the water, but I persuaded him that we needed to get our rest for "Snow White Disney" the next day (that's his name for the Magic Kingdom b/c it has his fave ride, Snow White!). We got dried off and jammies on and teeth brushed and all hit the hay around 9:30.

Your trip sounds like it started off right! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I made arrngements for Magical Express yesterday for my trip in October. The CM told me all about the service and it seems perfect!

Keep writing, looking forward to more of your story!
