We're planning on doing a Universal day July 30th before checking in to Disney for the week, and I need opinions on whether or not to get Park-To-Park tickets. We're all huge Harry Potter fans, so we will definitely spend a lot of time at IoA, but we don't do coasters, so no need to spend time in lines for Hulk or Dragon Challenge or other rides like that. We are NOT getting any Express Passes, the prices are ridiculous for 4 for that time of year.

Taking into consideration how crowded everything will be, will we even have the time to head over to US or should we just stick with IoA?

We've only been a few times but we always do both parks in one day. There is never enough for us otherwise. We also do not do MEGA coasters.

But do they offer the option to upgrade the ticket once you are there? Could you go to IOA and then decide to do US and add that to your pass? If you can, that may be the best choice.

Have fun!

Since you aren't doing any of the coasters, that will save some time. HP will be very crowded but the parks are open late during the summer so you might want to do the Studios first and then IoA later in the evening. Transformers will be open at the Studios by then so if you have an interest in doing that, you can upgrade your tickets to park to park at Guest Services. Just play it by ear and if you feel you have enough time to do both parks, upgrade and enjoy yourselves. If you don't feel like doing both parks, stick with your plan of IoA and take your time.

Thank you both, I have a lot to think about! So we can upgrade to Park-To-Park after we get there? I think that might be our best option. I'm just worried about pre-buying the more expensive option, then running out of time and feeling rushed if the lines are too long. I'm a worrier lol. Thanks for the help! :thumbsup2

My opinion: only do IoA. US is boring... to be harshly honest. I've only been to the US side once and won't waist money and go again. However! I'm glad I went at least once just to say I've been. I could spend an entire weekend just on IoA. I could spend all day just at Harry Potter world.

Yes...just upgrade before you leave the park. You can upgrade at either park.
