1 day Magic Kingdom ticket

Hello, I hope I am posting this on the right board. Next month we will be going on a (non Disney) cruise and then visiting my Father, who lives in Fl, for a few days. We would like to go to just the Magic Kingdom for 1 day - what is the best way to purchase these tickets? I am used to planning a whole Disney vacation complete with hotel and hopper passes- so, I am unsure how to go about buying just a 1 day ticket. Obviously, I know they can be purchased at the gate, but is there a cheaper way to purchase them? My Dad and his wife are annual pass holders, so, they don't need tickets, so, we need 4 adult 1 day tickets - we are not FL residents.

The only discount I've found on 1-day tickets is on a discount site for current or retired IBMers. Other than that, gate price is the best.

It really isn't economical to go for one day. With that being said, I did go to DL for one day many years ago. Buying the ticket at the gate is really the only way to go.

Someone recently posted that 1-day tickets were available at Walmart for less than they charge at the gate. Try doing a search to see if you can find that thread. Other than that, I don't know of any ticket seller than doesn't charge MORE for 1-day tickets than Disney charges for them.

Or you can buy Disney gift cards at Target with the Target Red Card to get an extra 5% off and use the gift cards to buy your tickets. Not much of a discount but there isn't much out there for one day tickets.

I would look into a discount place. We have recreation connection...there are others with different employers, etc.

You can buy tax-free, discounted tickets from your local ITT/MWR, or at Shades of Green on WDW.
