1 day in Miami

Hi All,

If you had one full day in Miami to do some things, what would you recommend? We won't have a car so will be using uber/lyft. We arrive at 7am the day before our cruise so we literally have all day to sightsee!

You could drive to Everglades National Park. Our family hasn't found much we love in Miami.

It really depends on where you are staying. We got in 2 nights before our cruise, although we didn't get to our hotel until 11:30 pm the first night because we had a late flight. We stayed in South Beach and, since our full day was a Sunday, we spent some time at the Lincoln Road Farmers' Market. https://lincolnroadmall.com/lincoln-road-farmers-market-takes-place-every-sunday/
We also enjoyed walking along the beach and boardwalk.

If you are near Bayside mall, you might consider the Big Bus tour. It’s hop on hop off, and gives you a nice overview of Miami.

You could drive to Everglades National Park. Our family hasn't found much we love in Miami.

We had a great time on a visit to Gator Park. Airboats through the glades and and alligator show.

Where are you staying? On the beach, Miami proper?

There are so many things to do in Miami. Everglades National Park is great but a decent Uber ride from the beach. Depending on where you are staying:

• A beach day at Cape Florida ( on of the top ten beaches in the world )
• Visit Vizcaya, a beautiful Italian Villa and gardens owned by John Deering on the bay
• Bayside is a mall on the water with great food and such
• Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Coral Gables is lovely
• Grab Joe’s Stone Crab on South Beach, (tip, go to the carry out. Much easier than waiting in line)
• Lincoln Road Mall on the beach is quite a stroll for shopping, food and people watching

Having lived in Miami for several years, (sometime ago) I think it is an amazing place to visit. Enjoy.

I love south beach. Our last cruise we got to the hotel about 11 am, strolled the beach, went to our pool overlooking the ocean and then had a great dinner with great people watching, we even took in a drag show. It was so much fun. We had an 11 30 PAT and called an Uber to the port.
