Hey,
Does anyone know how so many PPl have those 1 day hopper tickets for sale on Ebay? :confused3

I'm not talking about the military tickets or the Fl resident ones.
There just seems to be a lot of the 1 day hoppers for sale. Where do they get these to sell?
Seems like the same sellers too. If you check their feedback you see they sell these on a regular basis.
The ones that show pictures looks they have "comp" on the back.
I can see some ppl having them from tours or Disney giving them away for whatever reason to compensate someone. But there are so many of these.
???
I actually was thinking of bidding on some to save some money. Many have very good feedback from their sales so they do work.

Just wondering if anyone might have some insight...:cool2:

I'm not sure about the specific sellers that you're talking about but a while back there was a couple of busts in Orlando that involved stolen CCs being used to purchase theme park tickets. They were reselling those tickets to unsuspecting tourists before the CC owner knew what was going on.

=People are also willing to sell their "comp" tickets for less than the gate value in order to get a little cash. I suspose that if you know enough CMs you might be able to get a decent supply to sell on eBay.

When we were at WDW in August we went to a CVS that's about 2 miles from the gates of WDW. While waiting for my bf I saw a building in the parking lot with a sign out front that says "Bring us your unused days on your WDW park passes for money". I saw quite a few people stop and tickets/cash exchange hands.

Has anybody bought these and did they work? What price range do they usually go for? How much do you save per day roughly? Sounds like it would be worth a shot.

I haven't tried bidding yet, but they do go for less than the 131. Disney price.

I've seen them end anywhere from 79.00 to 100.00 per ticket. But some of the auctions are for 2 tickets and I've seen them end anywhere from 130-180 for the pair.
There are a lot of 2 day hoppers for sale as well. So I'm not sure where they come from and why so many can get their hands on them to sell.

I had read about the money laundering scams through gift cards and theme tickets with stolen credit cards but most of these sellers have very reliable feedback so it seems. Buyers say they had no problems with using the tickets.

If you know someone in military there are some good deals on those type tickets. They have to be there to activate the tickets.

on a side note...I have had my bank card info stolen here on Long Island @ a nearby restaurant and gas station, guess where all the charges were made in just 2 days?...Orlando FL. Mostly at Macys, Sears and gas stations...I never thought it could have been gift card purchases for resell. They were even amounts of numbers in the fifties & hundreds!

I wonder, do those tickets contain any personal info on the strip? such as CC used to purchase or other information that can be taken and used in a scam?:confused3

When I was in disneyland I thought I had to show ID to activate my tickets but I could be wrong, I remember something was unusual. Is your name in the disney system and do they activate them? But if they have been used and activated I don't think you show ID after that. just put them in the slot and walk in.

Yes, your name, address, CC, all that lovely info is stored on the tickets. But in a different form than what most frauds use to read CC's. So you can only go to Disney to check the tickets to see if they're good. You could sell your 7 day tickets as soon as you got home on the net and no one would know. And Disney would tell you at the gate how many days are left, but you'd need to show ID to get any more info off of it or to have the ticket reprinted.

If it's a park hopper ticket, with a name printed on it, it's more than likely a CM comp ticket. Under the rules of the comp ticket, the CM is held responsible for the actions of the guest they let in, and it can not be sold for anything of monetary value. Even if the CM in good faith gives the ticket to a friend, and that friend turns around and sells it, the CM is still held responsible.

Now if it's just a one day/one park ticket, it's more than likely from some one that went to a convention, and never went into the parks afterwards. Those are pretty safe to buy...

But I still wouldn't do it. Because you're causing fraud some where down the line with the purchase of those tickets.
