1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Hey Lisa! I'm so far behind on my subscriptions. I discovered a whole bunch of updates I missed back in the middle. So I've been enjoying the Epcot updates this morning. You did look like you were gonna barf. Maybe you should do theater with JJ? I'm so glad your there for you mom. Via Napoli looked great. And how cool to meet up with John's brother. That was a great family picture the people from Arkansas took. And for the glass blower, I would have never guessed it to become a dragon!

Seeing the pictures of Epcot during the F&G festival make the park look so empty now. I love that time of year at Epcot.

Lisa, those are some awesome gorilla pictures! The one playing peek-a-boo with the towel was so cute.

I especially appreciate seeing the pictures since we missed the gorillas on our last trip.

:rolleyes1

Yay more time with Lacey and Jesse! :cool1:

I know!

All Caught up, finally.:yay:
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful, safe and healthy new year.....

hugs,
KIM:wave2:

Thank you! I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

All caught up.

Hoping your family had a wonderful holiday visit and a very Merry Christmas. So nice that Lacey and Jesse made the trip home. Love spending the holidays with everyone present.

Thank you! We had a wonderful holiday and it was so nice to have a long visit with the kids.

Well, those pictures were a trip down memory lane. We stayed in Barbados and I actually loved it there. We had a room literally 25 from from our car and walking around that resort was such a joy. I remember the quiet pool and that wonderful wooden boardwalk. I remember running the whole perimeter of the resort every morning. It was just lovely.

Thanks for all the great pics. Sorry you couldn't find the rumored refurbed room. I hope someone will eventually post pictures!

We stayed in Barbados before our cruise and I really liked the location. Nice and quiet and so lovely.

Just started following along. Love the trip report! And I dig your sense of humor. :rotfl:

Welcome aboard! I hope that you'll continue to read along and post!

Way behind in reading but wanted to wish you a very very happy Birthday Lisa!!!

Thank you!

Usually a lurker but thought I would come out of hiding to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

OH, hi Lisa. :wave2: Sorry I've been MIA but I went through the Disney Blues BIG time after my trip with oldest DD in September. :sad1: So needless to say I had quite a bit to catch up on. :rotfl:

HEY! Long time no see...write...see on the Disboards. :lmao:

Honey, I know all about those Disney blues! I have been suffering from them something fierce lately!

I'm betting that I could have been an actress. Probably somebody like Victoria Jackson on Saturday Night Live. :lmao:

It was really neat to watch the glass blower and I'm glad that we stuck around to find out what he made.

I wish that the flower and garden festival would stretch to the end of May so that we could see it in full bloom.

Oh yeah, I remember that you missed the gorillas and I had to get a little tough on ya for missing them. :rotfl:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for more time with the kids. We only got 3-1/2 days with ours, but I'm so glad they were able to come.

Because they were here, I didn't get to get on the DIS at all so didn't wish you a Happy Birthday here (but I remembered on FB).

But I am here now and wish you, John, Hunter, Lacey and Jesse, and momma a very

Hey there birthday girl! They weren't supposed to stay so long but decided to extend the stay. I was a little afraid that his family would be upset since they were missing one of his family's Christmas parties but they cleared it with them before even letting us know. Like you, I'll take every single minute that I can get with them.

Thank you for the New Year's wishes! Same right back at cha!

Acrobats, Bikers and Dinosaurs! Oh my!

As I said in my last update, we sprung a surprise on the family by giving them tickets to Cirque du Soleil. If you’ve never been, you should! It’s absolutely wonderful! In my honest opinion, other than the money we spend on the vacation itself, it’s the best money ever spent while at Disney. There’s supposed to be a storyline and I vaguely see it but I don’t give a flip if there’s a storyline or not because the performers and music are more than entertaining.

There is a no picture policy during the performance so I’m borrowing pictures from the internet:

I can’t understand a single word that the singers are saying but I love the songs and I love the music! We bought the CD after the first time that we saw the show and it’s in my CD player in my car right now. :lovestruc

I totally forgot to mention something that might be helpful to other visitors. My mother has a hard time climbing stairs (I have mentioned this before.) so we found a castmember who was standing just to the right of the outside of the Cirque du Soleil building and asked if they would allow us to use the elevator. They were very happy to assist us and only asked to see our tickets.

The elevators are located just o the left of the building. You can see them in this tiny picture (sorry couldn’t find a bigger one):

The elevator attendant will take you up and then a hostess will meet you. The elevators are behind a velvet curtain and out of sight. (I’m sure they have to do that to keep everyone from trying to use them.) In our case, they walked us directly to the section we were in and then told us how many rows down to go. The only complaint that Mama had was that there were no handrails going up or down the stair in the theater. Yes, the steps are fairly wide and not far apart but Mama said that handrails would have been good to have.

After the show was over, we waited a while and let some of the others leave the theater before we attempted to leave. Once again, we found the nearest castmember and asked if we could use the elevator. She was happy to help us and asked if we would wait a moment since the elevator was in use. We only had to wait for a little while and we chatted with another family who had a person in a wheelchair in their party. They shared our view that the show was amazing and it was money well spent.

We were shown into the elevator and bid farewell by the attendant and we made our way to the other side of Downtown Disney. We had a dinner ADR to get to but I had a little time to snap a picture or two along the way:

So, where were we headed to? Well, duh, the title of this chapter is Acrobats, Bikers and Dinosaurs! Where else would be going but to:

**Up next: What’s that rumbling? It ain’t my stomach!

I still haven't made it to Cirque and I really need to see it some of these days. It looks amazing!

I would love to go to Cirque. On my very first trip I bought the DVD for my middle DD because she was into acrobats. Well she didn't like it very well but my oldest DD LOVED it. She loves it so much that she has purchased other Cirque DVDs.

This is a beautiful picture! I love it!!!!!

We saw Cirque several years ago and it has to be the fastest 90 minutes of my life. I remember totally losing track of time. It was an amazing show. I enjoyed every second of it.

Have you seen the latest one that came out at the movies? It's sooooo good! We watched it again just the other day.

Thank you! I wish the guy weren't in the picture though.

That's what we always say! The time flies by!

Funny how you just posted the pics of Cirque, I just watched the movie for the first time. The whole time thinking how amazing it must be to see this live. Your pics just help move it further up the list of extras on my list. I even thinking of staying at a mod over del for the extra money to spend on tickets for extra things.

Great update, Lisa. I know I've mentioned this in a past TR of yours, but we saw Cirque in Vegas and I fell asleep during it (and I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it was August, we hit every resort along the strip and had a cocktail in each and every one :lmao::lmao::lmao:). I'm so glad you enjoy it and could take the entire family. And :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for the elevator for momma.

Loved the update. Cirque sounds like it would be so great to see. We have a show here in Chicago as well. One of these days, we will get to a show. I have a very bendable cousin that does Acrogymnastics. I keep waiting to hear she has a job with Cirque! ;)

Wishing you a
