1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Having survived Mission Space, we went looking for Mama and there she was, sitting in the exact same spot as when we left. I don’t often get super sappy but this was one of the times that I did. To see my nearly 80 year old mother sitting on a bench at Epcot, just enjoying her time people watching made me smile. She was completely content and happy.

This is exactly what was so great about my mom coming to Disney. She got to people watch and meet a whole bunch of new people. So if we were on something she couldn't go on (not a B) heart patient at the time but old neck injuries) if we couldn't find her where we'd left her, chances were that she was off talking to someone.

I don't probably see my mom as often as I should and technically she's on my way home, but farther than 10 minutes. But we talk electronically a lot.

Your words about your mama were very sweet, Lisa. I have a brother who does NOTHING for my mom and didn't do anything for my dad when he was still alive (that brother and I have not talked in four years). I felt about my dad the way you do your mama.

I'm glad you enjoyed Stupid Judy and Ellen (we do too). It's a great place for kids or JOHN to nap. :goodvibes

So glad that your mama enjoyed Soarin' again.

We love watching the people make the glass figurines. But now you're going to have me looking at every single one for scars on his arms/hands.

So sweet that you took time to put into words how you feel about your mama. You are both very lucky to have one another. :goodvibes

Soarin is always a great time, so glad that mama enjoyed it as much as she usually does.

Love the MU topiaries. I'm pretty sure they moved them over to DHS for the summer but I never got good pictures of them.

Your mama is so very lucky to have you as her daughter. You are making wonderful memories of three generations.

Such sweet words about your Mama! I feel very much the same about my mom, and we've gotten closer since she was diagnosed with breast cancer (12 years ago, she'd doing well), and since I became a mom. I definitely appreciate her more now and can't imagine my life without her.

Soarin' is at the top of my must do list for next time. We got there too late last time to get fast passes and standby was too long. I'll get up at the crack of dawn if I have to!

Cool glass maker. Did you ever find out what he was making?

Love the bird bath.
Nice Figment pics.
The burgers looked good.
Too bad for Hunter but he got a nice 2nd place prize. LOL
Great that Lacey & jesse can join you next year.
Oh no! I could never do orange. You are all so brave.
Some people are so rude.
Soarin’ is the best.

The relationship you have with your mom is wonderful! :goodvibes. I wish more families were this close.

I live 12 hours from my parents and talk to my mom more than two of my brothers do that live 15 minutes from them. I understand they have jobs and families but I always wonder will they regret not seeing them more when they are gone.

Mom says if anything happens to dad she will move down here with us! I would love to have them both down in Florida.

You are so right about spending time with our parents. Even with my mom's dementia, it is still nice to spend time with her. She makes me laugh. I don't get to spend as much time with her as I wish I could. We are on the go so often with work, school and the kids' activities. She can't get around too well so the time I spend has to be when I don't have to rush off, because believe me, there is no rushing with her. :rotfl:

Fun update. I am so glad they moved the Monsters U topiary over to DHS and didn't just get rid of it. It's a fun one for photo ops.

Soarin' is still one of my favorites. I do wish they would freshen it up a bit, though.

Ellen's is one of those "good for nostalgia" rides. (or a nap)

First off, you are an incredible daughter! Second, I was so happy to hear John still gets his naps in! His ability to sleep anywhere just cracks me up! We are going to have to go to Universe of Energy again in December. Usually we skip it, but over Christmas it might be the only ride we can get on without waiting for hours. Plus it may be the only ride in Disney where the line is never longer than the ride itself.:rotfl:

Our DH's would get along famously. They both take full advantage of "naportunities." :lmao:

Heck yeah, they would!

Thank you! John can sleep anywhere and everywhere!

I had heard rumors that Soarin' was going to change quite some time back but nothing else. I need to do a little googling and see what I can find.

I wish that they were too. Oh wouldn't that be wonderful if both of your parents would move to Florida and be close to you!?!?!

I love the bird bath too. Yeah, Hunter's sadness was lessened a little when I told him about the $300.00.

I love what you said about your Momma. My mom died 16 years ago when I was 18 and I miss her more than words can say. I was always close to my maternal Grandma, but after losing my mom, we became closer than ever. Sadly, she passed away 8 years ago at 87 years old and it was like losing my mom all over again. It's incredibly unfortunate that people don't realize what they have until it is gone. And I am a firm believer that you never get too old for your mom. I know that you will never regret a single moment you spend with her and are so blessed to have mountains of memories to relive all the days of you and your children's lives.

I'm so sorry that you lost your mother at such a young age. I lost my dad when I was in my 20s and it's been tough. It's wonderful that you had your grandmother with you for 87 years and that you had such a close bond.

You are right. I will never regret spending time with my mother and neither will my husband or children. And, hopefully, my grandchildren.

There's no such thing as too much joking & kidding around!!:rotfl:

Good!

So glad I was finally able to catch up, though I confess to using the links only & missing any of the good "in between" stuff.

I've had to do that many times.

A few things...

great SeaWorld shots!

Thanks!

FABULOUS 24 hour day at the MK for Hunter's birthday. Love how your boy is right on it photo-documenting their night while you took Mama home. You all just have such a great time there Lisa. It shows in all your photos.

Hunter is going to be a Diser one day.

What an absolutely amazing shot you had on BTMRR of the mountains in the front & the castle in the back.

Loved your dancing shots...

We were living in the moment and dancing up a storm!

Seriously I laughed out loud so many times sitting on my front porch last night reading your TR on my nook. I couldn't post a reply (its a pain) but I felt like you were right next to me telling me all about it. With a drawl!!!

I do have a very distinct Southern drawl so I'm betting that you read it just about right.

and thanks for sharing the Duck DYnasty connection. I did not know that but now I all makes sense. Your Donald interaction is so funny. Donald is such a funny duck, enough people don't appreciate his quest for #1....he quacks me up every time :)

Saw the Duck Commander guys just the other day driving down the road to our house.

you made Mission:Space seem so innocent. I've always passed on that one. Never been fond of re-tasting my food.

It really isn't that bad to us but I can see why some would have to pass it up.

I'll try not to get so far behind.

BTW I do hope you make it the Mom's panel - you'd be great at it!!!

Thank you!

OH I know what else I wanted to comment on ....the Wave. first, we ate there earlier this month and really enjoyed it. but you made me chuckle over the family interactions & john not feeling so hot. I'm glad that eventually he returned more to "himself" despite maybe a few tense moments. That happens in every family, doesn't it? for a variety of reasons!

Keep the story & the comedy coming Lisa!

Poor Mama was hovering over John and that only made it worse. Oh well, it happens and we get past it.

Your Mama sounds like mine. I can't tell you how many times, though, that I had to whisper behind her ear "Mama, I don't think they understand English".:rotfl:

Your words about your mama were very sweet, Lisa. I have a brother who does NOTHING for my mom and didn't do anything for my dad when he was still alive (that brother and I have not talked in four years). I felt about my dad the way you do your mama.

Kathy, it's so sad that families can't get along with one another. John has some of that on his side.

I love me some Stupid Judy and Ellen.

Did you notice how the guy had the sleeves rolled up but still covering his upper arms? When the sleeves would slide up, you'd see a bunch of scars.

Thanks! I love my Mama!

They did move the Monsters University topiaries to Hollywood Studios and I thought that they were a great fit there.

Your mama is so very lucky to have you as her daughter. You are making wonderful memories of three generations.

Thank you so much!

Cool glass maker. Did you ever find out what he was making?

I am sure that you are very thankful that your mother is doing well 12 years after the diagnosis. She and you are survivors!

I believe that I have pictures of the finished product.

I wonder what that could be?

John and Hunter looked around in the pavilion while Mama turned over every single piece of merchandise in the jewelry store. :sad2: Okay, so maybe I am exaggerating. She really didnt turn over every single piece of merchandise but she came pretty darn close.

You see, my Mama is......my Mama is.....oh gosh, am I really going to tell yall this? My Mama is................................................................................

...............................a jewelry ho! There, I said it! And, oh my! It sounds horrible. Maybe I should have said jewelry trollop. Does that sound any better? No? :confused3 Crap! Jewelry hoarder? :scared: Still doesnt sound good. Lets just say this. My Mama loves jewelry! Not the big expensive carats upon carats of diamonds jewelry. Just the good old fashion doesnt cost a lot of money but still looks good jewelry. So, it goes without saying, that we spent quite some time in that little shop in Mexico. What did she buy? I cant remember. I think that she bought a pair of earrings.

Mama tucked her purchase away in her purse and we found the boys sitting on the concrete ledge just hanging out and waiting on us. We had successfully pulled Mama from the boat in Living With The Land and were feeling confident so we put her on another. ::yes::

Looks like Hunter and I tried to take our picture without using a flash which, I am sure, that guy on the right appreciated:

Searching for Donald is a tough job but somebodys gotta do it and we spotted him several times:

Every time I see a pinata, I think of the clips that were always shown on Americas Funniest Home Videos where theres the inevitable whack to the groin. :scared:

Youll be pleased to hear that Mama did a fairly good job at getting out of the boat. Didnt land flat on her face or anything which is always a good thing. :thumbsup2

We had pretty much seen everything there was to see in Mexico except for one thing. I wonder what that could be? We simply had to peek back in and see the creation that the glass moldershaperer had been making. Looks like he was still hard at work:

We could even see what it was that he was making:

A dragon:

**Up next: Get that off your head! You dont know where thats been!

Don't make fun of your Mama...it's a southern thang! We HAVE to have our big hair and sparkly stuff! :thumbsup2 She is a proper southern belle! princess:

It was a dragon!!! So cool to see the almost finished product! :goodvibes

Still got my fingers crossed, my prayers going up, and pixie dust swirling with hopes and wishes that you make it to round 3 of Mom's Panel! pixiedust:

:rotfl: My Mama is the same way, she's a jewelry wearin kind-a-gal. I call her a gypsy, she usually has a ring on at least two fingers on each hand if not more, earrings always, and of course she won't go anywhere without a hat. princess: ::yes::

Glad to hear you spotted Donald several times and of course Mama got out of the boat without too much of an issue. I think that one is the hardest one to get in and out of, Pirates is easier, living with the land is easier, although that one can be a booger to get out of too.

That's was a pretty cool Dragon! I've never been much for collecting that sort of thing, but I like watching them create it. :thumbsup2

Lisa you had me crying while reading about your Mama. I know you are close and you should cherish that. I loved my mom but we were not that close so I swore if I was lucky enough to have a daughter we would be close. Well my Megan is my best friend and I am hers. We talk every day, she helps me when I need help doing things and vice versa. We always go to Disney together and usually one or two other trips a year to Maine. Her boys are now with us but not always the husbands. We love to shop and have lunch but don't do it as much as we used to. I know she will always be there for me as I get older.

A jewelry ho? You do crack me up, Lisa. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

How nice of the guys to patiently wait while the two of you shopped. :goodvibes

Glad mama got off the boat okay.

Loved seeing the dragon...that is great. I have to spend more time watching them next year.

Yep, it really is a Southern thang. The bigger the hair, the closer to Heaven. :lmao:

Keep those fingers crossed. Some are saying we should hear something about Round 3 soon.

I ain't got much room to talk. I have on three rings right now, earrings, a bracelet and a necklace. Must take after my Mama.

Mama collects the little glass animals but not the bigger ones and certainly not a dragon. :rotfl:

:rotfl2::lmao:

This update had me ROLLING! First the Jewlery Ho/Trollop (I love the work trollop, it's fun to say), then the image of your poor Mama being yanked out of a boat came in my head again. I'll be laughing about this all day. All. Day. So thank you!

And cool dragon! That's so amazing that they can do that.

I didn't mean to make you cry. How very sweet that you and Megan are so close! That's the way it's meant to be.

A jewelry ho? You do crack me up, Lisa. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah, my Mama's a ho. :lmao:

The glass moldershaper was cool to watch. It does take a good bit of your time though.
