1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

OMG Lisa - I really hope it didn't look that bad when you pulled momma out of the boat. :rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh. I needed that right about now!

My motto is - you can NEVER have too many pictures of the land. I didn't notice that mickey head this year. Oh wait - maybe that's because I never rode LWTL in June. Oopsie.

We always laugh so much at that scene in Big and we'll tell Mama "don't make us go all Big on ya". It helps to laugh at the situation so she doesn't feel like we're having to wait on her hand and foot.

Heck no, you can never have too many picture of the land. I love it!

I can understand how your mom could have troubles getting out. Shoot!! Even I have a tough time of it sometimes. :rotfl2: Usually it's Splash that gives me fits. I think it's the sunken down and in and need to pull up and out all while fiercely trying to keep my bags in my hand. :rolleyes1

It is quite tricky sometimes.

I love Living With The Land. It's a little bit of peace in an otherwise hot, crazy day. Some day I may do that Behind the Seeds tour just for fun.

Definitely try the Seeds tour. The price is reasonable and it's neat to go behind the scenes and ask all the questions that you want.

We have three kids. Well two are young adults and the "baby" is 17. The thought of being in a vehicle with them for so many hours is scary. I can just hear the arguments. I hope you get your chance to see it.

Our kids will forever be "kids" in our eyes won't they? ;) Even though Lacey is 26, married and living in another State, she's my baby.

Phew for 18 hours at the MK! You are amazing! Glad Hunter got to have such an amazing birthday, though.

I love your Living With the Land pics. We have never been on that, but it's at the top of my list for our next trip. My kids were afraid of it last time, because we saw the farm scene with the thunder while eating at Garden Grill and it freaked them out. Wimps. :rotfl2:

Your poor Mama. HOpe she got out of the boat okay. I didn't even need to watch the link to BIG. I know the scene exactly and started laughing to myself, but hope it wasn't that bad getting her out.

As for your dancing, I love it! I would totally have joined in if I were there.

I'm so glad that you guys got to enjoy so much time at MK! I doubt I would have lasted very long myself, but I would sure liked to try! haha! :goodvibes

I love Living the Land… I NEVER forgot those oversized plants. I always thought that the Topsy-Turvy Tomato planter thing stole the idea from Disney! ;)

I hope I didn't make you :faint: I AM still here, I read much more than i have time to type...and we all know how slowly I type, so that is my excuse and I am sticking to it! I alway say we are going to do the seeds tour, never do. I LOVE LWTL, one of our faves. I still miss the live tour guides! You captured some great pics!! I just wanted you to know I AM still reading!!! :flower3:

Okay ya'll, I have a very good excuse for not posting more replies or another installment.

Life in general has been busy and I've been working on my Round 2 answers and video for the Disney Parks Mom Panel. I received the questions around 3:00 on Monday afternoon and looked at them but didn't jump right into answering them. I honestly wanted to answer them from my gut and not sound like I was writing a travel brochure.

Oh a whim, I brought my camera to work with me this morning and shot a rough video which, actually, turned out pretty well and I think it's the one that I am going to submit. I spoke from my heart and didn't have a single scripted word. Just me talking to the camera in my thick Southern drawl.

I have all but one of the questions answered and I may go back and rework one of the others. Hopefully, I can get it all submitted tonight and then leave it up to the Disney Powers That Be.

Once I hit SUBMIT on my application, I'll be back here on the Dis....catching up on everybody's reports, posting replies and writing another installment.

Good luck!!

I am sure you will do great! They would be lucky to have you on the Mom Panel..and I should know since I am a mom that loves reading your TR!!!

I submitted my answers and video today around 5:00 p.m. but didn't receive an email confirmation. Not worried about it though since I got the confirmation page/message after I submitted. :thumbsup2

I did end up using the video that I took this morning at work. It was done in one take and I only had to edit out the beginning and end where I was turning the camera on and off. I sent it to a couple of Dis friends for their opinions and to Lacey and asked what she thought. Her response was "Mom you look just like yourself." I had to ask if that were a good thing and she assured me that it was. :rotfl:

So, it's done. I feel good about it because I know that I could have done nothing more than be myself. The rest is up to the Disney Panel powers that be.

It's 10:15 and I still have clothes in the dryer and I need to iron Hunter's pants for Homecoming assembly tomorrow. We were going to go but the orchestra is act 32 out of 60 something. It took 3 hours just to get to their portion of the practice tonight. Hunter said that we would be bored out of our minds and he would be fine with us just buying the DVD. Think I'll take him up on that. They will be playing the same songs at the Christmas show anyway.

Tomorrow, I'm coming back to post replies and possibly an installment. Thanks for hanging with me!

Lisa, I wish you all the best with your submission. Was it a relief to hit the send button? :)

Sooo getting caught up.... I left off where you were watching the MSEP and then the late night movie with the people conked out on the carpet. I'd likely be one of those if I had laid down for one minute to watch the movie.

Looks like you got your second wind with the dancing in front of the castle - simply adorable!!! My gosh! Hanging in there 18 hours and leaving in the wee early morning hours AND THEN BEING OUT THE DOOR AT 9AM! :worship: Seriously, you are committed to maximizing park time! :thumbsup2

I love your BIG reference. I loved that movie and that scene is so funny.

Here's to you getting into the next round!! :dance3:

No worries about not being around, we know you'll be back here before long. You are such a dedicated TR writer, I don't think any of us ever fear you won't be back to update. You never let your followers down. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Yes, it was a relief not because I was really nervous about my answers but in figuring out how to edit my darn video.

If I had laid down for a minute, I may have gone to sleep and there wasn't any time for sleepin'.

The DJ had the music playing and we just couldn't help ourselves. We had to DANCE!

I love your BIG reference. I loved that movie and that scene is so funny.

We watch/own a lot of the older movies and Big is one of our favorites. "Get some air between you and the tramp....oline.":rotfl:

Here's to you getting into the next round!! :dance3:

Thank you m'am!

Aww, thank you! I should be posting a new installment shortly.

$760 doesn’t sound bad but then I am a Disney fool. LOL
They couldn’t get a deal for All Stars?
You have taught him well with picture taking.
I like the cloud photo.
Nice parade pics.
I wish they would close Stitchs’ ride. It is the worst.
Love the dancing.
18 hours. Wow! Good for you.
9am? I would slept till noon and had an off day.
Love Living With The Land. Nice pics. Have you ever done the tour? It is cheap and very informative and fun.
Good Luck!

Keeping fingers, toes and anything else I can crossed for you!! You would be so awesome in this volunteer job!

I could have sworn I looked at your update when you posted it. But I must have looked at something else, because it definitely wasn't an Epcot day.

I agree with you about the fast walking. I'd much rather walk fast than slow. Slow walking distance is actually painful to both me and dh.

Wouldn't it be great if Disney sold seeds from those 9 pound lemons?

JJ would agree with you mom that getting out of the boat is harder than in. Living with the Land is tricky, but the boats in Mexico are even more difficult (both in and out) for him.

Hoping you make it to the next round. Sending lots of good vibes!

You take your time. And good luck...I hope you make the next round. :goodvibes

Thanks Kathy!

You WILL make the next round! :flower3:

You would be perfect.

Judy, I would love to make it to the Panel so I hope that you're right.::yes::

Good luck!!

I am sure you will do great! They would be lucky to have you on the Mom Panel..and I should know since I am a mom that loves reading your TR!!!

Thank you so much! It would be an honor to be chosen.

Thank goodness we didn't have to resort to dragging Mama out of the boat flat on her stomach. :rotfl:

I hope that you are having a great trip!

I love Living With The Land. It's a little bit of peace in an otherwise hot, crazy day. Some day I may do that Behind the Seeds tour just for fun.

Tell me about it. I have trouble getting out of some of the rides too.

Definitely do the tour if you have the time. It's neat to see it all from behind the scene.

We have three kids. Well two are young adults and the "baby" is 17. The thought of being in a vehicle with them for so many hours is scary. I can just hear the arguments. I hope you get your chance to see it.

Yeah, I can imagine the fussing, fighting and stomach punches that would be associated with a long drive. And, that's just what John and I would be doing to each other. :lmao:

Ha! I get it! "veg out" :lmao:

Oh don't I crack you up? :p

18 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am impressed

And heck, I have problems getting out of those things sometimes too!

We were quite impressed with ourselves. We were a bit sleep deprived the next day but it was still worth it.

Wow, very impressed that you all got up and at 'em so quickly!
I adore LWTL. I don't come from a line of farmers unfortunately, so DH and I have been sort of bumbling through learning to grow our own! We did the Behind the Seeds tour and loved it. Very cool.
Glad you got Mama out of the boat without too much trouble!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I was pretty impressed too since we usually don't get to the parks so early even without staying up for 18 hours.

Did ya'll plant a garden? We love gardening. This year, we had purple hull peas, green beans, tomatoes, cantaloupe, bell peppers, squash, onions and squash. The bell peppers are still growing and we have more peas planted and some turnip greens. I am not going to partake in the greens but Mama and John will.

Hi Lisa!:goodvibes

It's been awhile.....:rolleyes1 But, I couldn't stay away any longer...I needed to catch up on your trip!:thumbsup2

I almost sent you a message the other day to check on ya'll. It's good to see you again!

Hopefully, I can remember everything I want to comment on.....

Loved reading about your visit to Sea World! It's still on our list of places to try...maybe next time if we can tear ourselves away from Disney for a day.;)

I remember that you too Sea World out of your plans before.

That's so cool that Hunter got to spend his birthday at the Magic Kingdom especially since it was during the 24 hour celebration!:cool1:

It really was a special 16th birthday.

Love your MK night time pictures! But, wow! Look at those crowds! Regardless, it looks like you had a wonderful time and 18 hours! Great job!:thumbsup2

The crowds were super duper crazy!

Congrats on making it to Round 2 of the Moms Panel!!

Thank you! Submitted my answers and video yesterday.

Yay! I'm all caught up!! Can't wait for more.:goodvibes

I had thought that I would get an installment posted today but it's looking like it will be tomorrow.

Loved your pictures from the parade. Seems like it was a great spot, but perhaps a bit too close. A couple of great close-ups like Pete's Dragon. The dwarf with the mine cart is awesome- love how it looks all bejeweled!

The spot was great but we were a little close. I could see straight up the characters' noses. :p

I think I would pass on the slumber party, too. No sleeping in Disney!!!

Nope, ain't nobody got time for that!

Love your dancing!

We've got some sweet moves.....NOT! :rotfl:

Woah!!! Up and out by 9 am??? I am impressed :worship:

I know! We don't even get moving that early when we haven't been in a park for 18 hours!

I guess it goes back to the rule I just posted: No sleeping in Disney!

I love Living with the Land, too and always take the same gazillion pictures too!

The Land fascinates me.

Wimps. :rotfl2:

As for your dancing, I love it! I would totally have joined in if I were there.

Tell 'em that it's not scary. There's some thunder in the rainforest scene a couple of times but it's not that bad.

Nah, we didn't have to grab Mama by the hands and slide her out but we came close. :rotfl:

And, I would have let you too. The more the merrier!

I'm so glad that you guys got to enjoy so much time at MK! I doubt I would have lasted very long myself, but I would sure liked to try! haha! :goodvibes

I love Living the Land… I NEVER forgot those oversized plants. I always thought that the Topsy-Turvy Tomato planter thing stole the idea from Disney! ;)

I didn't think that we would have lasted that long either.

Oh, you know what? I bet they did steal it! I hadn't even thought about that. I'm telling! I'm telling! I'm telling! Who do I tell though? :rotfl2:

I hope I didn't make you :faint: I AM still here, I read much more than i have time to type...and we all know how slowly I type, so that is my excuse and I am sticking to it! I alway say we are going to do the seeds tour, never do. I LOVE LWTL, one of our faves. I still miss the live tour guides! You captured some great pics!! I just wanted you to know I AM still reading!!! :flower3:

I miss the live tour guides too. It added a personal touch to the attraction. I knew that you were still around my dear. ;)

Twice in one week!! Pick your jaw up Missy!! :rotfl2:

Just popped by to say :wave2: and send :love:

Dadnabit! Now I gotta find a bandaid! I hit my head on my desk when I fainted and fell out. :faint:

Just kidding!
