Living With The Land is one of our favorites!

We were only at Epcot one day this last trip, so we only rode it once. We usually ride it a couple of times each trip.

we had to bust out in dance
Hunter has definitely got the moves :rotfl:

I asked Hunter if he had enjoyed his 16th birthday party at the Magic Kingdom and this was his response
Looks like it was a big yes :goodvibes

We hadnt hung around for the full 24 hours but we did stick it out for 18!
Wow that's amazing!!!

I can't believe how early you were all up the next day, I would have been still lying in bed :faint:

I love The Land and much to the kids disgust I have to ride it at least once every trip. They are going to humour me this year and do the Seeds tour :thumbsup2

That garden is so cool. I really wish that we had an EPCOT at Disneyland Resort. We have California Adventure, which I am sure is much more cool to people who come from outside of the state. Not that it isn't still fun.:goodvibes

I got pretty behind, but all caught up now!

The fireworks in honor of Hunter's birthday were so nice of Disney! :thumbsup2 Crazy though how many people were around!!! I do recognize that back area you took with Mama to get out, since that is part of where they take you on the Keys to the Kingdom tour!

Hunter is quite the ladies man, at only 16! Pretty soon you'll be having the girls lining up around your house for him! :rotfl:

You got some great shots of the MSEP! I have to say I agree that playing the Stepsisters would be fun. Their part in the Halloween parade is hilarious!

That's cool that they put down that blanket/carpet and played a movie for people. I'm sure plenty were quite tired by then!

The dancing videos were hilarious! Who cares if you wouldn't win Dancing with the Stars, you're probably never going to see those people again so have fun  And congrats for being there 18 hours!!

Living with the Land! :lovestruc I love seeing your pictures, so don't apologize for sharing them! It's probably one of the simplest attractions at WDW, and it's one I can't miss. I always see something new there that I didn't know they grew.

Glad I'm caught up now, and I'll try not to get behind again. :)

Following along with your comments about your mama.

I'm leaving Sunday with Mama and Daddy, ages 83 and 82. They are young looking, slim, healthy and walk at the gym but I am getting them scooters, because, well, they're in their 80s and various parts have been replaced or broken and things move slow now.

I was concerned seeing as how your Mama had a bit of struggle getting out of the boat. Can you give me some advice regarding that very thing, the getting ins and outs? What do I need to know now...in order to be best prepared for next week? Thank you so much!

I know this wasn't directed towards me but I had scooter experience w/ my mommy last trip. Some places you can take the scooter w/ you to a certain point and then transfer out. You may want to get in the boat first to assist in but you also want to place yourself in a point to get out first so you can pull up and out. It's easiest if you have two helpers one on each side but if just you it can be done or wave over a cast member. Just take your time and stay calm (captain obvious here) but sometimes I would get antsy because there was a big line waiting to get in. Don't worry about the line!! ;). My 2 cents! Enjoy!

Ditto Previous Poster on how this was not addressed to me, but we went with my 77YO mom a few years ago and we didn't go the scooter route, but we found that as long as she had a good sturdy son-in-law (or daughter) to hang onto getting in and out of the boats she was good.

Sorry for the Hijack, Lisa - and I'm semi caught up now.

OMG - 18 hours in the park? I'm generally pooped and ready to go after a goo 12 hours! :joker:

You are just an updating machine, my friend.

Mark loves The Land ride (I could skip it once in awhile but I'd rather do The Land every trip than do It's A Small Boat to China so I give in to him).

You got some great pictures and you caught a couple of those hidden Mickey's too.

I'm glad you got momma out safely from the boat.

I knew that I had to get moving and, after finding the pictures on Photobucket, I put the pedal to the metal.

Welllllll, I like 'em both. Give me a boat to China or a boat to a garden and I'll take it.

Mama survived getting in AND out so that's a good thing. :thumbsup2

Looking at your Living with the Land pics I was amazed at how different the Mickey ears looked while I was there. I went to WDW right after your trip and was in Epcot on June 4. Here's my pic of the ears from that day!

Glad Hunter enjoyed his birthday!! Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!

Oh wow! Look how the plant grew! I'm so happy that you posted that picture.

Living With The Land is one of our favorites!

We were only at Epcot one day this last trip, so we only rode it once. We usually ride it a couple of times each trip.

We usually ride it at least twice too.

Sooooooooo, did you make it? You know what I'm talking about!

I'm all caught up again! Keep it coming!! Love your TR!

Yay for getting caught up! It's something that I find myself frequently doing. ;) I should have another installment posted soon.

Hunter has definitely got the moves :rotfl:
I wish that I had a copy of the video that they made at school. His entire class got in on it. Hunter was dressed in a blue body suit and was the focal point/featured dancer. It was hilarious!

Looks like it was a big yes :goodvibes

It sure was!

Wow that's amazing!!!

I can't believe how early you were all up the next day, I would have been still lying in bed :faint:

I was a little surprised that we were so fresh and energetic the next day.

I love The Land and much to the kids disgust I have to ride it at least once every trip. They are going to humour me this year and do the Seeds tour :thumbsup2

Awww, poor kids. Have you done the Behind the Seeds Tour before? If not, you're in for a treat. We've done it three times and would do it again in a heartbeat.

That garden is so cool. I really wish that we had an EPCOT at Disneyland Resort. We have California Adventure, which I am sure is much more cool to people who come from outside of the state. Not that it isn't still fun.:goodvibes

I want to get to Disneyland one day. I actually had mapped out a two week road trip from our house to Disneyland and back. There were stops at the Grand Canyon, Disneyland, Phoenix and Roswell. Once I figured out that we'd be on the road for more than half of the two weeks, the trip was nixed and we booked our WDW vacation.

I got pretty behind, but all caught up now!

Welcome back and congrats on the job!

The fireworks in honor of Hunter's birthday were so nice of Disney! :thumbsup2 Crazy though how many people were around!!! I do recognize that back area you took with Mama to get out, since that is part of where they take you on the Keys to the Kingdom tour!

I've been wanting to take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour forever and a day.

Hunter is quite the ladies man, at only 16! Pretty soon you'll be having the girls lining up around your house for him! :rotfl:

He is inundated with calls and texts from girls all the time now. The poor boy hasn't figured out that they all like him. He thinks that they are just wanting to be friends. There's a girl who is a Senior who he has been to the movies with several times and they talk all the time. It's more than obvious that she likes him but he doesn't see it.

You got some great shots of the MSEP! I have to say I agree that playing the Stepsisters would be fun. Their part in the Halloween parade is hilarious!

We could both be stepsisters! What a time we would have!

That's cool that they put down that blanket/carpet and played a movie for people. I'm sure plenty were quite tired by then!

It was pretty neat.

The dancing videos were hilarious! Who cares if you wouldn't win Dancing with the Stars, you're probably never going to see those people again so have fun  And congrats for being there 18 hours!!

I wouldn't have cared if I had a group of people standing around staring. We were having fun.

I agree!

Glad I'm caught up now, and I'll try not to get behind again. :)

No problem if you do. I understand!

First off, I want to say that I love the DIS! It's so wonderful to see everybody jump in and help others. :cloud9: And, on my trip reports I don't mind hijackers at all. I am serious!

Hisgirl: I think that you'll be fine. My mother is pretty spry and gets around fairly well. Like your parents, though, she does tire and moves pretty slowly sometimes.

Like the others said, take things slow and don't hesitate to ask for assistance if you feel that it's needed.

When getting on and off the boats, one of us would board first, hold onto Mama's hand and one would stand behind to steady her if she needed it. We did the same thing when we got off. The conveyor belt/constantly moving attractions are a bit more of a task. It would take Mama a minute to get her feet steady and yet the belt or ride still moved. So, we would step onto the moving platform at the very edge so that she'd have a bit more time to get her feet under her and then walk.

One thing that I do want to say.....we have always made it a point to make sure that Mama does not feel like she is a hindrance or a burden. (I'm not saying that you do or will.) So, if there's a way for one of us to make eye contact with a castmember or talk with them before Mama gets to them, we do it. One of the things that Mama has always said is that she doesn't want to slow us down or become a burden to us. (Like we would care if she were.) We want her to think and feel as if she is able to do a lot of things on her own or with just a little bit of assistance from us.

sewmess: Can you believe that we were there for so long. I guess that we were running off of adrenaline to have lasted that long.

OMG Lisa - I really hope it didn't look that bad when you pulled momma out of the boat. :rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh. I needed that right about now!

My motto is - you can NEVER have too many pictures of the land. I didn't notice that mickey head this year. Oh wait - maybe that's because I never rode LWTL in June. Oopsie.

I can understand how your mom could have troubles getting out. Shoot!! Even I have a tough time of it sometimes. :rotfl2: Usually it's Splash that gives me fits. I think it's the sunken down and in and need to pull up and out all while fiercely trying to keep my bags in my hand. :rolleyes1

I love Living With The Land. It's a little bit of peace in an otherwise hot, crazy day. Some day I may do that Behind the Seeds tour just for fun.

Yay for getting caught up! It's something that I find myself frequently doing. ;) I should have another installment posted soon.

We have three kids. Well two are young adults and the "baby" is 17. The thought of being in a vehicle with them for so many hours is scary. I can just hear the arguments. I hope you get your chance to see it.

18 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am impressed

And heck, I have problems getting out of those things sometimes too!

Wow, very impressed that you all got up and at 'em so quickly!
I adore LWTL. I don't come from a line of farmers unfortunately, so DH and I have been sort of bumbling through learning to grow our own! We did the Behind the Seeds tour and loved it. Very cool.
Glad you got Mama out of the boat without too much trouble!

Hi Lisa!:goodvibes

It's been awhile.....:rolleyes1 But, I couldn't stay away any longer...I needed to catch up on your trip!:thumbsup2

Hopefully, I can remember everything I want to comment on.....

Loved reading about your visit to Sea World! It's still on our list of places to try...maybe next time if we can tear ourselves away from Disney for a day.;)

That's so cool that Hunter got to spend his birthday at the Magic Kingdom especially since it was during the 24 hour celebration!:cool1:

Love your MK night time pictures! But, wow! Look at those crowds! Regardless, it looks like you had a wonderful time and 18 hours! Great job!:thumbsup2

Congrats on making it to Round 2 of the Moms Panel!!

Yay! I'm all caught up!! Can't wait for more.:goodvibes

Loved your pictures from the parade. Seems like it was a great spot, but perhaps a bit too close. A couple of great close-ups like Pete's Dragon. The dwarf with the mine cart is awesome- love how it looks all bejeweled!

I think I would pass on the slumber party, too. No sleeping in Disney!!!

Love your dancing!

Woah!!! Up and out by 9 am??? I am impressed :worship:

I guess it goes back to the rule I just posted: No sleeping in Disney!

I love Living with the Land, too and always take the same gazillion pictures too!
