1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Mostly caught up, but I think I missed an update back there somewhere.

My first visit to WDW was with school my sophmore year. We stayed offsite as well, but that was also before the value resorts were built I think.

Here's hoping that they get enough to go...and the fundraising isn't a complete PIA.

Lisa, did they mention the dates for the band trip? You have enough DisFriends here to support Hunter and the competition. Would the competition be right at one of the parks and could the general public view it? It would be fun to see him around Disney!! :wave2:

Loving your trip report!!

We live right next to Disney and would be happy to go support Hunter and the group when they come down!

If you find out where they are staying I can go check it out to make sure it looks alright. I chaperoned a band trip onetime ( I'm an aunt not a parent) and the place they stayed was so-so, wouldn't have been my choice but I know it's harder with a large group.

I know about trying to play catch up. I seem to always be behind.

Fundraising is the pits! I would be so much easier if there weren't so much paperwork.

They will be there March 6th through the 9th but we don't know what day they will be playing. It will be where the general public will see them. The orchestra leader said that they have played in Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Downtown Disney before so it could be any of those again.

Welcome! It'd be fantastic to know that Disers were watching their group lay. I certainly appreciate any feedback that you can give on the hotel they are staying in and I'll definitely post when I find out where it is.

We haven't stayed offsite in so long. I wish that they were staying on property but it is what it is.

What mischief did the men get into while I was gone? Who’s that in the picture?

While I was away, the boys were up to some mischief and I have evidence to prove it. They said that they tried to go back out the way we came but the castmembers made them continue on through the back way. They eventually came out the same place that Mama and I had....at the front of the park. They noticed that the gates near the fire station were open and they tried to take that path and got about halfway through when the castmembers there also shooed them back the way they came. Darn it!

Thank goodness Hunter is a Diser’s kid and knows to document their time with photos. It looks like they cut through Casey’s.

Then took a left towards Adventureland:

Made a pitstop:

And ended up in Frontierland and where they ended up at the Country Bear Jamboree:

Biding their time while waiting:

From the looks of this picture, there were still plenty of folks in the park and going to see the bears:

A family favorite! Big Al!

After leaving the Country Bears, they cut back through the pathway from Frontierland to Adventureland where they caught a glimpse of Mr. Hunka Hunka...make that...Captain Hunka Hunka Jack Sparrow:

I believe that they rode Pirates of the Caribbean but there’s no picture proof but that’s not unusual since it’s hard to get pictures while on the ride anyway. I can’t see them going into Adventureland and not riding it.

Again, I’m using Hunter’s pictures to see what they did next and the next picture are these:

which tells me that they went through Liberty Square to get back to Fantasyland. How do I know they were in Fantasyland? Well, here’s how. Pictures of the new Tangled/Rapunzel themed bathrooms:

Are you noticing how crowded it still is? Both John and Hunter said that it was really crowded especially in Fantasyland.

Next, they went to see one of my family’s all time favorites:

I have absolutely no idea how, with all of the crowds that were outside, that John and Hunter encountered this:

It makes me wonder if the show had possibly been down just before they went in or something because, otherwise, it would have been busy. Or, maybe they were the first to be let in?

After Philarmagic, it seems that they wandered around the new Fantasyland:

Neat and different kind of picture:

They must have sat down and rested a bit:

Wait a minute! Who’s that in the picture?

I have absolutely no idea and neither does Hunter or John. The girls were standing around giggling and told Hunter Happy Birthday because they saw his birthday pin. Then, they took a group picture ‘cause Hunter’s cool like that. He bid the fair Princesses farewell and he and his dad walked towards the front of the park:

Even though this next picture is blurry, I’m going to post it anyway because you can see how crowded Main Street was even though it was the wee hours of the morning:

While I was walking towards the front of the park, Hunter was still smoozing with the ladies:

Let’s pick up where I am while Hunter was having his picture taken with some beauties that he had just met.

Remember? It was nearly midnight when I was standing alone at the bus stop at the resort. I had sent a text to both John and Hunter and told them that I was almost there. The music started playing as the bus driver drove my chariot a/k/a bus into the Magic Kingdom late late at night. Or, should I say, early early in the morning.

I made it to the front of the park and had to go through bag check. The Security Officer checking bags let out a little chuckle when he saw that I had a pair of tennis shoes in my bag. “Looks like somebody forgot to wear comfortable shoes.” he laughed and said. “Yeah, you’d think he was a first timer.” I told him. He told me to have a good night and I went on through the turnstiles and underneath the train station to find my two men waiting on me.

**Up next: That was the most electrifying 20 minutes of my entire life!

I always found it hard not to with the kids when they preformed or played. I can't imaging how hard it will be no to go with Hunter. I know as a kid they like us not to be there, plus it gives them confidence in themselves.
Looks like the guys had a great time waiting for you.

It's offsite accommodations but it's supposed to be close to WDW property. They are going through a company that specializes in high school and college tournaments and festivals. It was so hard for me to sit there and not yell STAY ON SITE AND LET ME DO ALL OF THE PLANNING! :rotfl:

When we went the description was exactly the same and we stayed offsite about 10-15 minutes away. I was disappointed at first about the offsite room but 1) we were NEVER there...left by 8 am and returned at 1 am each night/morning and 2) the hotel was very decent so for the short school trip, it was great! There are so many secret things that go on and our band was treated like royalty! I hope they make it because it is a wonderful experience!! Our trip this year is supposed to be Universal! I have never been so I am a little excited to see what it is like!!

Hunter did a great job documenting!! OH MY GOODNESS! the pictures with all of the ladies!! :rotfl2: That's great!!

I really would like to go if only to see them perform. If I don't go as a chaperone and I can find out when they are performing far enough in advance, I'd do my best to figure out how to get there.

From what I understand, they are actually being judged and scored on their performance so I don't know how it's going to be handled.

I know that the kids won't care if they are onsite or not, they just want to go!

You've seen Hunter's big blue eyes and long eyelashes so you know that he can get away with a little flirting with the ladies. He was definitely doing it that night

Great updates!!!

Hilarious that Hunter took so many pictures with the ladies!! He's too funny!

Can't wait to see what is so electrifying!

Great update,Hunter really is quite the man with all his pictures with ladies! :)

He got some other good pics too, I love the Country bears, great for nostalgia

Hope that Hunter does get to go on the Orchestra trip! That is definitely a great price to include tickets and meals, too.

Here I've been feeling so bad for not getting over here more and find you're still on your first day at the parks!! :rotfl2:

You're as bad as me! :rotfl:

I love how all the girls were attracted to Hunter like bees to honey. :goodvibes So cute!

And I know just what you mean by having a mom who won't let up. It's in their nature and they don't know how to quit. I have a John and he's so stubborn and independent, he doesn't even like me trying to take care of him when he's sick. But my mom will push and push and push, even if I say something, God love her. :rolleyes2

Sounds like MK was more of a headache than fun, especially to be there for 24 hours straight. When I was young like Hunter it would have been ideal, but as I've gotten older, I just don't deal well with huge crowds I can't get away from, from time to time. I have it all mapped out how to get away from them because I have a daughter who needs that and a husband, and I guess in turn I've become the same way over the years. Does that mean I've gotten old? :confused3 :rotfl:

Loving your report so far!! :thumbsup2

Hunter is certainly giving us something to chuckle at with all his posing with the girls. Too cute!

I love the carousel picture he took. Very pretty. And the one from the castle steps (I'm assuming) with the lights on Main Street.

I would say he did a great job of documenting the evening! :thumbsup2

I would love to send my DH off with his camera some time on his own and be surprised by what he came up with. :rotfl2: That looks fun! But it looks like the guys had a good time and I love all the pics with Hunter and the ladies! :thumbsup2

Loved the update!! Thanks to Hunter for his photo session in your absence. He may be Dis Royalty. Those girls probably recognized him from your TR and one of the girls let the others know who he was! :thumbsup2 Just kidding. (or am I :confused3) Though giggly girls will be giggly girls, especially when a cute boy is involved. Ahhhh, to be young again. (:crazy2: not on your life!! LOL)

Hunter. What a guy!

I hope the school trip works out. Fundraising is a pain, but I hope the school/parents can figure something out so they can go. That would be a cool trip.

I can't believe how crowded it still was at the wee hours of the morning! And LOL at the tennis shoes in your bag and the security guy.

Tell Hunter he did a great job with the pics.
