1 Child and 10 Adults--A GG to Celebrate DD's 4th Bday :) TR Link is Posted

Sunday, September 12th: This time next month takes will be our first full day at Disney!! This day was originally going to be DHS day but with the threats of F! crowds, I decided to adhere to TGM’s advice and switch parks for the day. Instead of being at DHS, we will be spending the morning at Epcot! This day is specifically reserved for Future World, though we could pop over to WS if we have time.

Breakdown of Day 2 at Disney

Park
Epcot, Future World :goodvibes

Food
ADRs: 1
Breakfast: at the hotel in our room or snack credit possibly
Lunch: Sunshine Seasons most likely
Dinner: Cape May Café Clam Bake, Beach Club

Goals for today

1. Soarin’
2. Test Track
3. Disney Visa Meet n Greet @ Innoventions West
4. Photopass pictures

I am only listing four goals because I think we will only be in FW for about four hours, from 9:00-1:00. We want to take midday breaks so I picture us leaving after lunch. What do you all think about this plan? Lilian is pretty sensitive to the heat, always has been, so I feel it is going to best to get out of park. If we are all holding up well, we may stay longer but I am not going to push it.

We will head back to the resort. At the resort, we will go for a swim to cool off and all take a nap. I may not nap, but work on schoolwork that needs to be done. :rolleyes

Evening plans:

Our dinner ADR is at Cape May Café Clam Bake. I am really looking forward to visiting Beach Club. :goodvibes I just love the way the resort looks and I want to get a chance to checkout Stormalong Bay. Our dinner is for 5:10, so I want to be at Beach Club by 4:50ish or so to find our way to the right location.

After filling our tummies, if we are up to it I like to go to DHS for F!. The show is at 8:00 p.m., which can be on the late side for Lilian at the moment. She is typically in bed by 9:00 but that is without a nap. Since I think she will want to nap (or should I say that I will want her to nap), she should be able to make it no problem. To get to DHS, I thought we could take the boat. Is this correct—can we ride the boat to DHS from Beach Club? If we are not feeling up to going to DHS, we can go back to resort to relax and swim. I’m really trying to leave our nights as flexible as possible but have ideas of options we could choose from if we decide we have the energy to do something else.

Oh my, those treats do look yummy!!

I like the idea of mid-day breaks and have them scheduled in every day except one when we'll do a later start and then stay in for the evening. I also like the idea of flexible evenings with loose plans so you can decide what your up for. :thumbsup2

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!

I have water delivered to the resort from Costco. I have not had to pay shipping each time I've done it. They deliver it to the front desk and we go and pick it up. That way, we didn't have to stop off property either.

One great thing about driving is that you can take stuff like that with you. :drive:::yes::

DS has decided he wants that ice cream sandwich. I've never had any of them either, but they all look delicious!

I think it's smart to leave the evenings open. Always good to be flexible. Now if only I could do that myself!

Day 2 sounds good to be, Stephanie. We really enjoyed our Cape May Cafe dinner a couple of years ago. And now that they have crab legs again we'll have to get back there. The Beach Club (along with the AKL) is the deluxe I want to try.

oh you will love the beach club resort and the buffett. It was one of my favorites last trip, and if they added crab legs I am definitely there again. As far as the boat....you can take a boat from beach club to DHS approx a 20 minute ride. I got that info from ourlaughingplace.com at the bottom of the page there is a button called transport wizard. You can but in the from and to and it will tell you the ways to get there and the length of time. Hope this helps.

The pics of the ice cream bars are just not fair. I haven't had a Mickey Bar in awhile, but I love the ice cream sandwiches (cookies and cream ice cream in the middle!).

I'm SOOOO excited to eat at Cape May Cafe next month. We're doing breakfast, but I just can't wait to check out the BC (a dream resort of mine).

I don't think we've ever spent 4 hours in FW. We usually hit up Soarin', SE and Test Track (sometimes Figment) and then head straight to WS. There is plenty to keep you busy in FW for that long, but we are true WS junkies!!!!

Day 2 looks fun. I think it is great that you do not have to many things planned and are leaving times for breaks. Flexibility is really the key. And to know "when to say when" LOL. When to chuck the plan and do something that strikes you right then or go jump in the pool. That way you can avoid meltdowns as much as possible-in theory :)

Something I forgot to mention earlier is that I love that you have four main goals for each day. I feel like my touring plans are perfectly doable however if we decide we really like pin trading or want to stop to meet a character I'd like to be able to think about what things are must dos and what things are okay to let go. I enjoy the planning and I do think it will help us accomplish more and have more fun but I also want to be flexible. I think the goals will be a great way to do that so thanks for the idea! :thumbsup2

Day 2 sounds great! And I can tell you from personal experience those Minnie Strawberry bars are yummy! I've taken that boat from the Beach Club to DHS. You catch it at the Lighthouse that is outside of the Yacht Club. We actually prefer walking over, but we're big walkers. The boat is often crowded, it can be hot, and it's loud. It will definitely get you there though!

thanks Hope! With a little one (well, not as little as some), I think with the heat we are going to have to take breaks. Otherwise we will be way too grumpy and not have fun, which does not make for an enjoyable vacation. :goodvibes

We do not have a Costco membership but I know someone who does. If I cannot find any good sales around Labor Day, maybe I will ask her about it. Thanks for the suggestion!! :goodvibes

Lilian knows she wants an ice cream bar, which I think is so cute. She has said that ever since she has seen a picture of a little boy eating one on the 2009 UG book. :rotfl:

I was always going to do it that way but I think it will be best. You can do it too!! :goodvibes

One of the main reasons why I want to try Cape May Cafe is because DH loves :loves: crab legs. I want to go there to see BC!! It is a win-win situation. :goodvibes

BC is definitely high up on my list of Deluxes I want try someday. :thumbsup2

Thank you Lindsay for the website recommendation. I have not played around with it before. It looks like you can walk to DHS so that might be an option too. I am excited to see the BC resort in person--it looks so lovely! :goodvibes Yup, there are crab legs now and DH just loves them.

Sorry Meghan!! But at least looking at the pictures you know you will get one next month too!! It is not that far away. :thumbsup2

BC is definitely high up on my dream resort too.

I'm not sure how much time we will spend in FW--DH and I are definitely WS people too. :goodvibes I hope to get time to start exploring WS but I am not going to push too hard to get to it. I believe we will ride Soarin', TT, SE, Nemo and Living with the Land. Quite a list, but hopefully it will be easy to get through. The only other thing is the Meet and Greet so hopefully that won't be horrible. I want to be in line for that around 1:00 then leave after we are done.

WS, I could easily spend days exploring it. :rotfl:

Thanks Mary. Avoiding meltdowns is high up on the list!! :thumbsup2 I think leaving the evenings relaxed and taking the midday breaks will be key. Also, being able to cool off with drinks (keeping DD drinking can be hard) will be important.

I think we will be able to get more than the goals done each day, but those I feel are most important. Some days will have more than four, because we will have more than four hours in the parks.

I am working on a rough daily itinerary too. I am working on a rough order of how I see things going just to be sure we do not be standing around a bunch--that would drive me crazy!!

I like the Mickey ice cream sandwich! Though I feel bad when I bite his ears off.

Day 2 looks good. I stayed at Beach Club last year and it's very easy to find your way around. you'll spot Cape May Cafe in no time! And the boat does go over to DHS. Beach & Yacht Club share a launch in the middle of the lake. Look for a lighthouse on the Yacht Club side, you should have no trouble spotting it!
