BWI 1 bedroom

In the king sized bed, two adults would sleep, but also a preschooler who always sleeps with mom and dad anyway. Baby in crib.

In the pull out bed in the other room would be another adult and one very small 12 year old.

We wouldn't mind this arrangement, but would Disney allow it?

Thanks

Shel

The legal limit is 4 plus one under 3. They will not make a reseravtion for more than that. sorry ..

Actually I believe they will now allow 5 in the 1 bedroom villas. I have seen it discussed on the DVC board. I don't know if they allow those who book through CRO to do it but they are allowing owners.

If you are booking for cash through CRO, the answer is no. CRO will only allow 4 persons plus an infant under 3 (who can use the portable Pac 'n Play crib).

Member Services (used exclusively by DVC members to make reservations) will allow 5 plus an infant, but will not provide any extra bedding.

The 1 bedrooms have a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sized pull out/sleep sofa in the living room. You will find the portable crib in one of the closets or possibly inside the coffee table (BCV).

So if you want to stay in a 1 bedroom villa with the party you describe, you will have to rent points to do it.

Best wishes-

If the preschooler in your bed is under 3, then you're fine, because he doesnt count yet.

Well, yes, he does count: He counts as one infant! (Poor little tyke -- gosh, "doesn't count" indeed!!!) :)

Very strange that if you book through DVC you can have 5 plus a baby in a crib, but if you book through CRO it's only 4 plus a baby in a crib. Kind of calls into question the idea (often asserted by people on these boards, including Disney employees) that the limits on the number of people in Disney rooms are not up to Disney and instead are due to fire codes!

Technically, a DVC one bedroom has a room occupancy of four. That's it, just four. Not four plus one under the age of three or five plus one under the age of three. JUST FOUR. But, Member Services will allow five people in a one bedroom, but no additional bedding or linens will be provided. You will get four bath towels, two hand towels and four face cloths. Any more needed and you will pay for them.

DVC could at any point go back to just four in the one bedroom as noted in the DVC documents.

That said, we had four in a one bedroom last year. Three adults and one 11 yr old kid. We found it very uncomfortable and had tried to get a two bedroom for the four of us. We were unable to get the two bedroom, so we kept the one bedroom. It felt very crowded.

BCV, BWV, VWL and SSR are all smaller one bedrooms than OKW one bedrooms. With the sleeper sofa pulled out, there is not much room left in the living room. We try to get OKW whenever we have a larger group, whether its a one bedroom or two bedroom.

After staying with 5 people in POR, I bet the BWV 1 bedroom will feel spacious to us. :) :) Those bathrooms at POR are tiny.

Thanks everyone. I just settled (finally!) on two rooms at the Swan. The location will really suit us best for the days we'll be there.

The 1 bedroom info is good to know for future trips!

Very good move, Disney vacations can be very tiring especially on children. Nothing helps the vacation go smoothly than a good night's rest.

the swan is fine.

DVC always stated that 4 in a 1-bedroom. But they also say they won't do a bed check.

the 5 in a room was started by CRO.

they did this until DVC complainted.

but since CRO was allowing 5 in a 1-bedroom, DVC couldn't tell their members only 4. NOT FAIR.

CRO has changed - but once DVC tells a member it can do something - they generally don't go back and say you can't.

these rooms are BIG~~~

I don't think it is a fire problem - but an occupancy problem. DVC wants to do what the other timeshares in the area are doing.

the Marriott for years only have 2 in the studio - a King bed and a queen sleeper sofa and they were saying only 2. THey finally changed it a couple of years ago to 4.
