I have a ressie in Nov. for 5 nights at BCV 1 bedroom, followed by 2 nights AKL savannah studio. I know that the room is small at AKL because we were there last Nov. Last time we did that portion of the trip in a studio first before going to a 1 bedroom at SSR. My question is how many of you have stayed in a 1 bedroom and then in a studio in the same trip and was it a big deal? Will we be disappointed after being spoiled with the space in a 1 bedroom. We are 2 adults, 2 kids(10 & 5). DH was a bit disappointed I didn't try for a 1 bedroom at AKV, but I doubt it would be available to get that now.:confused3 I know I got lucky getting that AKV ressie when it was after the 7 month window.

I wouldn't rule out a 1 bedroom being/becoming available. Why not waitlist? If you have the points, try that. Otherwise, I think there are enough common areas at AKV that you won't have to be in each other's space all of the time.

Request Arusha Savannah - Zebra trail. Far off from construction. Lovely savannah. Another DISer told me about it for my parent's room and they were wowed as was I.

I think the move would be difficult, I'm smiling at my use of difficult - it's an interesting word since you are at WDW and DVC:lmao: ;) , if it wasn't AKV. But since it is - well they are gorgeous studios and it's a fantastic resort. And since you got Savannah View well you are all going to be wowed. Enjoy!!

And I wouldn't give it up unless you can nab a one bedroom Savannah view or concierge on a waitlist.

We just went from a 1-bedroom to a studio on our trip in April. It was quite a let down for us. It was the first time we had ever stayed in a studio and I don't think we will again. It was more than just the space for us. We didn't like just having one nightstand by the bed and we weren't happy with the lighting. To read in bed you have to use the lights on the wall above the bed. We'd rather have lamps on nightstands. Plus the bathroom was so much smaller. So it was tough for more than one person to get ready at the same time. In a 1-bedroom I can take a bath while DH takes a shower. Sure saves a lot of time. I know a number of people love staying in studios. But it really was not our cup of tea.

We did this in January'07: 6 nights 1BR at BWV followed by 2 nights studio at OKW followed by 5 night NCL cruise out of Miami. It was our first visit to OKW and while we certainly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the resort ... we didn't enjoy the smaller bed and mini-kitchen located directly off the bathroom. We considered ourselves "roughing it" while looking forward to the cruise. ;)

January '08 we nixed the studio part ... 10 nights 1BR BWV followed by 2 nights 1BR Concierge at AKV. Living in style!

Voice of experience - only move UP not down, sizewise. Moving into that smaller villa can be a real letdown. I'm not sure why, but it is. They're all nice rooms, but to me, it feels like the "real vacation" ends with the move down. I swore I'd only do it again if there was absolutely no other way to be there. My DH flat out said that we WON'T do it.
