1 bedroom Theme park at BLT for New Years?

Hi, I am just doing a bit of forward planning!!

We are looking ahead to NYE 2013!!! and are hoping to visit the world after Christmas, and I was just wondering how likely we are to be able to get a one bed MK view at 11 mths out, if we aren't arriving until either 30th or 31st Dec?

I am guessing that people check in earlier than that and then keep the room right through from christmas to New Years - which would obviously 'block' my chance of arriving between the two holidays. Am I right??

Has anyone had much success with just waiting until the 11mth window opens for 30th and 31st dec arrivals? Or is it essential that you 'walk' the booking? (which I really don't like!!)

I would guess your chances are low for the reasons you mentioned.
It may be difficult to get any resort or category starting mid-week.

If possible, "walk" the reservation (ie start booking Dec 20, then extend the reservation and cancel initial days).

Right now, no one has full experience because BLT was not fully declared until a few months ago.

LOL, exactly how far out are you planning? Are you talking about December 31, 2013? Wow, I thought I was a planner.

One thing that may work in your favor is the weird day Christmas falls on that year. It's a Wednesday. So people who are there for Christmas may do their Christmas week as December 22nd through 29th (Sunday through Sunday), rather than Christmas Eve through New Years.

I'm betting a lot of schools will re-open on Thrusday the 2nd.

thank you both for your replies I think it will be a case of watching what happens next year and then possibly walking it slightly (although not keen on that option!!)

Lol!! I am a bit of a planner!!! So are you saying it is not normal to have all my vacations planned out until the children go to college??? (they are only 7 and 4 right now!!!!)

I only have experience booking Standard view at BWV, but this year our vacation begins on the 29th and it's a studio. I've booked studios and 2 bedrooms in the past beginning on either the 28th or 29th without walking.
