1 Bedroom Tastes with Studio Points

BCV studios and two bedrooms always go in the 11 month window. You should be ok with a 1 bedroom in the 7 month window. I would probably buy either SSR or AKV points for the longer time period. Unless you find a good deal on the BCV points - which you might with the time clock ticking down. You cannot beat the location of BCV or BWV, easy walk back to the resort at park close

We also like 1 bedrooms but don’t quite have enough points for 2 full stays in 1 bedrooms. So we stay in a studio for the first 2-3 nights and then switch to a 1 bedroom for the remainder of our trip. Saves some points and gives us an added excitement boost during the trip moving up to a 1 bedroom.

I am a points miser, so sometimes we do a split stay where we start with a studio and then move to a 1-bed for the same reason!

You all are providing great thought to this delimna. Also nice to at least feel like we are not alone! Thank you all!

If you want to use the points for 1BRs -- then I would focus on getting the cheapest points possible, while also having a home resort that has discounted views.

AKV and BWV both have those cheaper room views -- so you can use your home advantage to get the standard/value 1BRs -- and then decide if you want to switch to BCV 1BR or something else at 7 months.

Don't underestimate the savings on the room point charts. Standard vs pool at BWV is a huge difference.

Going about it this way gives you the best of both worlds. Middle of the road buy-in while opening up cheaper room views, and still have the ability to switch to what you really want later...without paying any premiums.

Although even for a full studio stay we only bring 3-4 days' worth of clothes and do laundry as needed. Although some resorts have quite limited laundry facilities (BWV was like the Hunger Games one year).
