I'm pricing out 1-bedroom suites between Fantasy and Wonder (7 nights). I understand that the Fantasy is bigger and newer, but I can't figure out why the Fantasy is so expensive for essentially the same room.
-It's still concierge level service on both ships
-It's the same room size/layout, right?

So why such a HUGE price difference when comparing comparable cruises between the ships? Is the Fantasy really that much better?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated :)

On the Fantasy, the concierge rooms are located near their own private concierge lounge (breakfast, snacks, drinks for guests). There is also a private sundeck for concierge guests on the Fantasy.

As Stitch'sCousin points out, the Fantasy has its own private concierge lounge where you will find the concierge staff plus food and drink throughout the day. The Fantasy is also bigger and newer. I haven't been on the Wonder, but did concierge on the Magic before they added the concierge lounge. The staff was available via phone during the day and they would have nightly cocktail hours plus special receptions throughout the cruise. I am assuming, because of the way concierge is set up on each ship, that is determining the cost difference between the Fantasy and Wonder. That being said, we enjoyed the concierge service on the Magic even without the lounge. The staff was very attentive and we never felt like we were lacking anything.

excellent point. Though won't the Wonder have a lounge when it comes out of dry dock? Will that neutralize the cost? I guess I'm just making sure I'm not missing something more than a lounge. I think I can live without that on the Wonder.

There will be a lounge on the Wonder located at the same place as the one on the Magic. Having bought multiple sailings in the last few years with concierge 1-bedroom as an option, I came to the conclusion that there are many variables influencing prices, notably the number of staterooms left in the category at the time of booking (there are more 1BR on the larger ships), the specific date and itinerary of sailing (look at the price of a 1BR on a Magic European sailing or compare the same stateroom on multiple sailings on the same itinerary) being the most obvious. The fact that the Fantasy has Star Wars days also seems to create higher opening rates.

Finally, the layout of the 1BR on the larger ships is better. On the Magic and Wonder, you notice that they combined two normal staterooms together while in the Fantasy, the layout seems to have been thought of from the beginning. That might influence long time cruisers to prefer the Fantasy sailings.

Yes, they have added a concierge lounge on the Wonder. And maybe also a sundeck. The biggest difference I see is that on the Wonder and Magic the suites are not in a seperate concierge area, but scattered all over deck 8. From previous threads, I think there are some suites on the Wonder and Magic that have a slightly different layout and therefore appear more roomy or such. I would look into information about which suite to chose on the Wonder if that is what you decide on. I think the newly refurbished Wonder would be a great ship and in my opinion the Fantasy is not that much better that it is worth a huge price difference.

The Fantasy has the most expensive concierge rooms in the fleet. That being said, we have had wonderful service in concierge on all the ships and you will not be disappointed with the overall experience.

The Fantasy has many bells & whistles the Wonder doesn't, such as:

Aqua Duck (a huge attraction for kids- the Wonder only has one minor slide)
Midship Detective Agency
Remy
Miniature golf
Golf & sports simulators
Exhaustive supply of on-demand Disney movies in staterooms 24/7

There is just more to do on the Fantasy. Families with kids, in particular, will pay a premium for that. So the price difference is less about the rooms than the ships themselves. Both are great ships, though.
