If you had 1 and a half touring days for US, how would you divide them - which would you do for a full day? We are family with three kids, including a teen, 8 yo and toddler. Everyone but the toddler enjoys coasters but won't go on stuff that flips you upside down! thanks.

IOA is more of a thrill ride / wet ride park. It has 2 great coasters: Hulk & Dueling Dragons. Dr Doom is similar to Tower of Terror. You will get wet on Dudley Do-right, Jurassic Park and Popeye. Spiderman is great but might be too intense for little ones. Seuss has a few rides for young kids. We really enjoy both parks for different reasons. I suggest that you buy the $86, 2-park ticket on the Universal website. I is good for 7 consecutive days and you can come and go as you wish in both parks.

I agree about the ticket and the basic sum up of the parks. We've been splitting US/IOA with WDW (DS 9 & DD8) for many years now. IOA has a few family favorites at Dr. Seuss & Superhero Isl. Spiderman is also amazing, keep in mind US/ IOA has THE BEST kiddie swap program anywhere so don't feel you need to miss out because of the kiddies.

I would recommend getting to IOA when it opens and spending 1st 1/2-3/4 of the day there. Have lunch somewhere on the walkway between the 2 parks and then do US the 2nd 1/2 of the day. This way you will have had a taste of both and you can get back to either finish up at US or redo at IOA the 2nd day.

US/ IOA are not too big and for our last trip we were able to do both in 1 day. Keep in mind we are seasoned visitors but I don't think you'll miss anything.

:woohoo: Have a great time:woohoo:

PS- if you can afford to stay on site for the one night you will get a room key for each family member that allows you ( for free ) your own line an unlimited amount of times.. this helps allot.

Both coasters at IOA have inversions. i would plan the half day for US and full for IOA, but it won't take all day if you skip the coasters. Both parks are so close that it is no problem to jump around if you find the full day with extra time and not enough park left to see :woohoo:

I'd do a full day at IOA....but I love 'em both!

With the 8yr old and the toddler, you can spend all day at IOA messing with all the playgrounds alone. We usually spend about two hours in Camp Jurassic.
